Elucidating the relationships between gene expression and the physiological mechanisms remains a bottleneck in breeding for resistance to salinity and drought. This study related the expression of key target genes with the physiological performance of durum wheat under different combinations of salinity and irrigation. The candidate genes assayed included two encoding for the DREB（dehydration responsive element binding） transcription factors Ta DREB1 A and Ta DREB2 B, another two for the cytosolic and plastidic glutamine synthetase（Ta GS1 and Ta GS2）, and one for the specific Na^＋/H^＋ vacuolar antiporter（Ta NHX1）. Expression of these genes was related to growth and different trait indicators of nitrogen metabolism（nitrogen content, stable nitrogen isotope composition, and glutamine synthetase and nitrate reductase activities）, photosynthetic carbon metabolism（stable carbon isotope composition and different gas exchange traits） and ion accumulation. Significant interaction between genotype and growing conditions occurred for growth, nitrogen content, and the expression of most *** general terms, higher expression of Ta GS1, Ta GS2,Ta DREB2 B, and to a lesser extent of Ta NHX1 were associated with a better genotypic performance in growth, nitrogen, and carbon photosynthetic metabolism under salinity and water stress. However, Ta DREB1 A was increased in expression under stress compared with control conditions, with tolerant genotypes exhibiting lower expression than susceptible ones.

This study presents the deduction of time domain mathematical equations to simulate the curve of the charging process of a symmetrical electrochemical supercapacitor with activated carbon electrodes fed by a source of constant electric potential in time ε and the curve of the discharge process through two fixed resistors. The first resistor RCo is a control that aims to prevent sudden variations in the intensity of the electric current i1(t) present at the terminals of the electrochemical supercapacitor at the beginning of the charging process. The second resistor is the internal resistance RA of the ammeter used in the calculation of the intensity of the electric current i1(t) over time in the charging and discharging processes. The mathematical equations generated were based on a 2R(C + kUC(t)) electrical circuit model and allowed to simulate the effects of the potential-dependent capacitance (kUC(t)) on the charge and discharge curves and hence on the calculated values of the fixed capacitance C, the equivalent series resistance (ESR), the equivalent parallel resistance (EPR) and the electrical potential dependent capacitance index k.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a highly prevalent disorder affecting an estimated 152 million men worldwide and isassociated with a variety of behavioral risk factors, such as cigarette smoking and excessive alcohol consumption, aswell as numerous age - related medical conditions, notably type-2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease. A ratio-nal step - wise approach which includes comprehensive medical and sexual history, a focused physical examination andessential laboratory tests such as fasting glucose, lipid profile and testosterone assay is to be preferred. Current diagnos-tic work - up does not recommend any of the specialized tests which were previously considered mandatory-i. e. penilepharmacotesting, Duplex ultrasound and nocturnal penile tumescence. Hormonal replacement therapy is appropriate onlyin the hypogonadal male with ED. Prior to direct intervention, the physician should consider altering modifiable riskfactors or causes, although frequently insufficient to reverse ED completely. When indicated, oral therapy with newmolecules (phosphodiesterase inhibitors or apomorphine) is the first - line treatment for the majority of patients becauseof potential benefits and lack of invasiveness. While impressive direct geolocation accuracies better than 5.0 m CE90(90%of circular error)can be achieved from the last DigitalGlobe’s Very High Resolution(VHR)satellites(***-1 and WorldView-1/2/3/4),it is insufficient for many precise geodetic *** these sensors,the best horizontal geopositioning accuracies(around 0.55 m CE90)can be attained by using third-order 3D rational functions with vendor’s rational polynomial coefficients data refined by a zero-order polynomial adjustment obtained from a small number of very accurate ground control points(GCPs).However,these high-quality GCPs are not always *** this work,two different approaches for improving the initial direct geolocation accuracy of VHR satellite imagery are *** of them are based on the extraction of three-dimensional GCPs from freely available ancillary data at global coverage such as multi-temporal information of Google Earth and the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission 30 m digital elevation *** application of these approaches on WorldView-2 and GeoEye-1 stereo pairs over two different study sites proved to improve the horizontal direct geolocation accuracy values around of 75%.

On February 16,2021,an artificial object moving slowly over the Mediterranean was recorded by the Spanish Meteor Network(SPMN).Based on astrometric measurements,we identified this event as the reentry engine burn of a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle’s upper *** study this event in detail,we adapted the plane intersection method for near-straight meteoroid trajectories to analyze the slow and curved orbits associated with artificial *** corroborate our results,we approximated the orbital elements of the upper stage using four pieces of“debris”cataloged by the ***’s Combined Space Operations *** on these calculations,we also estimated the possible deorbit hazard zone using the MSISE90 model *** provide guidance regarding the interference that these artificial bolides may generate in fireball ***,because artificial bolides will likely become more frequent in the future,we point out the new role that ground-based detection networks can play in the monitoring of potentially hazardous artificial objects in near-Earth space and in determining the strewn fields of artificial space debris.

Let f : S(E) → S(B) be a surjective isometry between the unit spheres of two weakly compact jB*-triples not containing direct summands of rank less than or equal to 3. Suppose E has rank greater than or equal to 5. Applying techniques developed in jB*-triple theory, we prove that f admits an extension to a surjective real linear isometry T : E → B. Among the consequences, we show that every surjective isometry between the unit spheres of two compact C*-algebras A and B, without assuming any restriction on the rank of their direct summands(and in particular when A = K(H) and B = K(H′)), extends to a surjective real linear isometry from A into B. These results provide new examples of infinite-dimensional Banach spaces where Tingley's problem admits a positive answer.
