Innovation capabilities(ICs)represent a crucial source of competitive advantage for ***,the literature on ICs is extensive,leading to a diverse understanding of their nature and measurement.A notable gap exists in delineating the dimensions constituting *** article aims to address this gap by identifying and pinpointing the various dimensions of ICs through a systematic literature review(SLR).The initial step involves identifying the diverse dimensions used in ICs,providing a distinctive insight for assessing their ***,this SLR stands out as the only comprehensive analysis of various ICs dimensions,organizing them *** 103 articles from the Web of Science and Scopus databases spanning from 2001 to 2022,the results reveal an amalgam of scales and associated approaches for IC *** study contributes to the literature by systematically identifying and analyzing the main dimensions employed by researchers to measure ***,it highlights the foundational theoretical approaches of the identified *** practical terms,the study consolidates and presents the identified dimensions and metrics in integrative tables,offering researchers and companies valuable insights into diverse innovation paths that impact performance.

This study describes the dynamic behaviour of droplets of biological liquids on hydrophobic surfaces under electrostatic actuation, to devise sample handling in lab-on-chip diagnostic tools. Bovine Serum Albumin （BSA） is taken as a representative biomolecule, since it is often used in adsorption studies. Green Fluorescence Protein （GFP） is also considered, given its natural fluorescence. Several effects such as sample concentration and pH are discussed. The results show negligible effects of proteins concentration in electrowetting, although increased concentrations endorse passive adsorption mechanisms, which alter the local wettability of the substrates precluding droplet motion. Bioinspired surfaces promote the largest spreading diameter, which is beneficial for droplet motion. However, surface roughness promotes energy dissipation limiting the receding droplet motion. Hence, the most effective approach is altering the surface chemistry. The coating is applied to a surface with a mean roughness smaller than 20 nm and does not alter significantly the topography, thus leading to the so-called smooth superhydrophobic surface. This coating also reduces passive proteins adsorption, as confirmed by Confocal Microscopy （CM）, which is beneficial for droplet motion. Evaluating absorption spectra of protein solutions evidences an increase in protein concentration ascribed to droplet evaporation as confirmed by theoretical analysis and time resolved infrared visualization.

In the present experimental investigation,Al–3 wt%Cu and Al–3 wt%Cu–0.5 wt%Mg alloys castings are produced by a horizontal solidification technique with a view to examining the interrelationship among growth rate(GR),cooling rate(CR),secondary dendrite arm spacing(λ2),Vickers microhardness(HV),and corrosion behavior in a 0.5 M NaCl *** intermetallic phases of the as-solidified microstructures,that is,h-Al2Cu,S–Al2CuMg,and x-Al7Cu2 Fe,are subjected to a comprehensive characterization by using calculations provided by computational thermodynamics software,optical microscopy,and scanning electron microscopy/energy-dispersive ***,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and potentiodynamic polarization tests have been applied to analyze the corrosion performance of samples of both alloys ***–Petch-type equations are proposed to represent the HV dependence onλ*** is shown that the addition of Mg to the Al–Cu alloy has led to a considerable increase in HV;however,the Al–Cu binary alloy is shown to have lower corrosion current density(icorr)as well as higher polarization resistance as compared to the corresponding results of the Al–Cu–Mg ternary alloy.

Application of Bioinspired Superhydrophobic Surfaces in Two-phase Heat Transfer Experiments

This paper addresses the potential to use Lotus leafbioinspired surfaces in applications involving heat transfer with phase change, namely pool boiling and spray impingement. Besides describing the role of bioinspired topographical features, using an innovative technique combining high-speed visualization and time-resolved infrared thermography, surface durability is also addressed. Water is used for pool boiling and for spray impingement systems （simplified as single droplet impact）, while HFE7000 is used in a pool boiling cooler for electronic components. Results show that surface durability is quickly compro- mised for water pool boiling applications, as the chemical treatment does not withstand high temperatures （T 〉 100 ℃） during long time intervals （3 h - 4 h）. For HFE7000 pool boiling （depicting lower saturation temperature - 34 ℃）, heat transfer en- hancement is governed by the topography. The regular hierarchical pattern of the bioinspired surfaces promotes the heat transfer coefficient to increase up to 22.2%, when compared to smooth surfaces, while allowing good control of the interaction mechanisms until a distance between micro-structures of 300 gm- 400 Ixm. Droplet impingement was studied for surface temperatures ranging between 60 ℃ - 100 ℃. The results do not support the use of superhydrophobic surfaces for cooling applications, but reveal great potential for other applications involving droplet impact on heated surfaces （e.g. metallurgy in- dustry）.

This work presents a procedure to optimize the molecular geometry at the Hartree-Fock level, based on a global opti-mization method—the Generalized Simulated Annealing. The main characteristic of this methodology is that, at least in principle, it enables the mapping of the energy hypersurface as to guarantee the achievement of the absolute minimum. This method does not use expansions of the energy, nor of its derivates, in terms of the conformation variables. Distinctly, it performs a direct optimization of the total Hartree-Fock energy through a stochastic strategy. The algorithm was tested by determining the Hartree-Fock ground state and optimum geometries of the H2, LiH, BH, Li2, CH+, OH?, FH, CO, CH, NH, OH and O2 systems. The convergence of our algorithm is totally independent of the initial point and do not require any previous specification of the orbital occupancies.

The Hartree-Fock equation is non-linear and has, in principle, multiple solutions. The ωth HF extreme and its associated virtual spin-orbitals furnish an orthogonal base Bω of the full configuration interaction space. Although all Bω bases generate the same CI space, the corresponding configurations of each Bω base have distinct quantum-mechanical information contents. In previous works, we have introduced a multi-reference configuration interaction method, based on the multiple extremes of the Hartree-Fock problem. This method was applied to calculate the permanent electrical dipole and quadrupole moments of some small molecules using minimal and double, triple and polarized double-zeta bases. In all cases were possible, using a reduced number of configurations, to obtain dipole and quadrupole moments in close agreement with the experimental values and energies without compromising the energy of the state function. These results show the positive effect of the use of the multi-reference Hartree-Fock bases that allowed a better extraction of quantum mechanical information from the several Bω bases. But to extend these ideas for larger systems and atomic bases, it is necessary to develop criteria to build the multireference Hartree-Fock bases. In this project, we are beginning a study of the non-uniform distribution of quantum-mechanical information content of the Bω bases, searching identify the factors that allowed obtain the good results cited

The prevalence and severity of obstructive sleep apnea(OSA) is higher in specific population: children, elderly,obese and patients with pulmonary and cardiovascular diseases, compared to the general population. OSA is associated with greater morbidity and mortality in these patients. Although full-night polysomnography is still the gold standard diagnostic sleep study for OSA, it is a time consuming, expensive and technically demanding exam. Over the last few years, there is growing evidence on the use of portable monitors(PM) as an alternative for the diagnosis of OSA. These devices were developed specially for sleep evaluation at home, at a familiar environment, with easy selfapplication of monitoring, unattended. The use of PM is stablished for populations with high pre-test probability of OSA. However, there is a lack of studies on the use of PM in age extremes and patients with comorbidities. The purpose of this review is to present the studies that evaluated the use of PM in specific population, as well as to describe the advantages, limitations and applications of these devices in this particular group of patients. Although the total loss rate of recordings is variable in different studies, the agreement with fullnight polysomnography justifies the use of PM in this population.

This paper presents a process which allows the determination of milk adulteration by water. Considering the limitations of the reference method （cryoscopy）, the proposed methodology matches electrical conductivity and cryoscopy index measurements. Based on statistical procedures, a linear descriptive model is achieved to quantify adulteration of milk with water. It is also shown that electrical conductivity measurements allow the detection of adulteration with water and sodium chloride.
