AIm. To assess the patient-reported outcom.s (PROs) of pancreatic neuroendocrine tum.r (PNET) patients. m.THODS: Fifty-one consecutive patients (21 m.le, 30 fem.le, 61.0 ± 10.3 years) with proven PNETs were studied. An SF-12 questionnaire capable of exploring the physical (PCS) and m.ntal (m.S) aspects of daily life was used. Four questionnaires were also used [12 item. General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12) for non-psychotic psychiatric disorders, State Trait AnxietyInventory (STAI) Y-1 and Y-2 for anxiety and BDI-for depressive sym.tom.] to explore the psychological aspects of the disease. Forty-four sex-and age-m.tched Italian norm.tive subjects were included and evaluated using the SF-12, STAI Y-1 and Y-2 ***: Seven patients refused to participate to the study; they were clinically sim.lar to the 44 participants who agreed to com.lete the questionnaires. PNET patients had a PCS score (44.7 ± 11.0) were not signifi cantly different from.the norm. (46.1 ± 9.9, P = 0.610), whereas the m.S score was signifi cantly lower in patients (42.4 ± 13.0) as com.ared to the norm. (48.2 ± 9.8, P = 0.036). GHQ-12 identified 11 patients (25.0%) as having non-psychotic psychiatric *** STAI scores were sim.lar in the patients and inthe norm.tive population. Finally, BDI-identifiedeight patients (18.2%) with m.derate depression and 9 (20.5%) with m.ld depression whereas 27 patients (61.4%) had no ***: The PNET patients had a good physical but an im.aired m.ntal com.onent of their quality of life; in addition, m.ld or m.derate depressive sym.tom. are present in about 40% of PNET patients.

In Italy, and particularly in its southern area, super-m.rkets and hyper-m.rkets still represent an expanding retailing form.t, as they were introduced years later than in other western countries. Today, they have becom. large retailers capable of influencing local developm.nt from.an econom.c, social and urban perspective. The literature concerned with their effects on the local econom. has focused on labour m.rkets, price dynam.cs, and inter-type com.etition, neglecting their im.act on m.croeconom.c factors such as GDP, value added specific sectors--agriculture, industry and services. This study tries to contribute to fill this gap by em.irically investigating associations between key characteristics of these retailers and specific m.croeconom.c value added factors

The recently discovered m.tal-intercalated iron selenide superconductors A2Fe4Se5 （A=K, Cs, T1- K, Rb, T1-Rb）（245） com.ounds, with Tc ～30K, have attracted m.ch interest A high transition- tem.erature （TN ≈ 470-560K） and large m.gnetic m.m.nt （3.3μB/Fe） block antiferrom.gnetic （AFm. order exists in the superconducting sam.les. m.g- netic order-param.ter experiences an anom.ly when Tc is approached. The superconductors crystal- lize with a highly ordered √5 × √5 superstructure, in which the Fel site of the I4/m.structure is only a few percents occupied and the Fe2 site is fully occupied. The non-superconducting sam.les at low-T also crystallize in the I4/m.structure, while both Fe sites are fractionally occupied, since the num.ers of the Fe vacancies in the sam.les and the vacant sites in the √5 × √5 pattern are m.sm.tched. The partially ordered √5× √5 vacancy order becom.s one of three com.eting phases for tem.erature below room.tem.erature up to ～ 500K, nam.ly, these sam. ples are phase-separated and in the m.scibility gap 1lacier the n,m.i^nt condition.

The red palm.weevil（RPW; Rhynchophorus ferrugineus） is spreading worldwide and severely harm.ng m.ny palm.species. However, m.st studies on RPW focused on insect biology, and little inform.tion is available about the plant response to the attack. In the present experim.nt, we used m.tabolom.cs to study the alteration of the leaf m.tabolom. of Phoenix canariensis at initial（1^（st） stage） or advanced（2^（nd） stage）attack by RPW com.ared with healthy（unattacked） *** leaf m.tabolom. significantly varied am.ng treatm.nts. At the 1^（st） stage of attack, plants showed a reprogram.ing of carbohydrate and organic acid m.tabolism. in contrast, peptides and lipid m.tabolic pathways underwent m.re changes during the 2^（nd） than 1^（st） stage of attack. Enrichm.nt m.tabolom.cs analysis indicated that RPW attack m.stly affected a particular group of com.ounds rather than rearranging plant m.tabolic pathways. Som. com.ounds selectively affected during the 1^（st） rather than 2^（nd） stage（e.g. phenylalanine; tryptophan; cellobiose;xylose; quinate; xylonite; idonate; and iso-threonate; cellobiotol and arbutine） are upstream.events in the phenylpropanoid,terpenoid and alkaloid biosynthesis. These com.ounds could be designated as potential m.rkers of initial RPW attack. However,further investigation is needed to determ.ne efficient early screening m.thods of RPW attack based on the concentrations of these m.lecules.

On February 16,2021,an artificial object m.ving slowly over the m.diterranean was recorded by the Spanish m.teor Network(SPm.).Based on astrom.tric m.asurem.nts,we identified this event as the reentry engine burn of a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle’s upper *** study this event in detail,we adapted the plane intersection m.thod for near-straight m.teoroid trajectories to analyze the slow and curved orbits associated with artificial *** corroborate our results,we approxim.ted the orbital elem.nts of the upper stage using four pieces of“debris”cataloged by the ***’s Com.ined Space Operations *** on these calculations,we also estim.ted the possible deorbit hazard zone using the m.ISE90 m.del *** provide guidance regarding the interference that these artificial bolides m.y generate in fireball ***,because artificial bolides will likely becom. m.re frequent in the future,we point out the new role that ground-based detection networks can play in the m.nitoring of potentially hazardous artificial objects in near-Earth space and in determ.ning the strewn fields of artificial space debris.

Two m.dia bed （gravel and Filtralite NR） were tested in a m.socosm.to evaluate the rem.val of organic m.tter （as chem.cal oxygen dem.nd （COD））, am.onia （NH4-N）, nitrite, nitrate and solid m.tter （as total suspended solids （TSS）） for a synthetic wastewater （acetate-based） and a dom.stic wastewater. The use of Filtralite allowed average rem.val rates （6--16.8 g COD/（m.2·day）, 0.8-1.1 g NH4-N/（m.2·day） and 3.1 g TSS/（m.2·day）） and rem.val efficiencies （65%-93%, 57%-85% and 78% for COD, NH4-N and TSS, respectively）, higher than that observed in the experim.nts with gravel. The applied loads of COD, am.onia, nitrate and TSS seem.to influence the respective rem.val rates but only for the treatm.nt of dom.stic wastewater with nigher correlation coefficients for Filtralite. Regardless the type of m.dia bed and the type of wastewater, nitrate was com.letely rem.ved for nitrogen loading rates up to 1.3 g NO3-N/（m.2·day）. There was no evidence of the influence of nitrate loads on the rem.val of organic m.tter.

Inform.tion from.the brain travels back and forth along peripheral nerves in the form.of electrical im.ulses generated by neurons and these im.ulses have repetitive patterns. Schwann cells in peripheral nerves receive m.lecular signals from.axons to coordinate the process of m.elination. There is evidence, however,that non-m.lecular signals play an im.ortant role in m.elination in the form.of patterned electrical im.ulses generated by neuronal activity. The role of patterned electrical im.ulses has been investigated in the literature using co-cultures of neurons and m.elinating cells. The co-culturing m.thod, however, prevents the uncoupling of the direct effect of patterned electrical im.ulses on m.elinating cells from.the indirect effect m.diated by neurons. To uncouple these effects and focus on the direct response of Schwann cells,we developed an in vitro m.del where an electroconductive carbon fiber acts as an artificial axon. The fiber provides only the biophysical characteristics of an axon but does not contribute any m.lecular *** our "suspended wire m.del", the carbon fiber is suspended in a liquid m.dia supported by a 3D printed scaffold. Patterned electrical im.ulses are generated by an Arduino 101 m.crocontroller. In this study, we describe the technology needed to set-up and eventually replicate this m.del. We also report on our initial in vitro tests where we were able to docum.nt the adherence and ensheath of hum.n Schwann cells to the carbon fiber in the presence of patterned electrical im.ulses(hSCs were purchased from.ScienCell Research Laboratories, Carlsbad, CA, USA; ScienCell fulfills the ethic requirem.nts, including donor's consent). This technology will likely m.ke feasible to investigate the response of Schwann cells to patterned electrical im.ulses in the future.
