But a. disa.ters continue to a.fect countries where EWSs ha.e a.rea.y been implemented, the striking disa.ter consequences ha.e led us to reflect on the focus, a.chitecture, a.d function of the wa.ning systems. Since the 2004 India. Ocea. tsuna.i there ha. been a.ra.id rise in the promotion a.d use of EWSs to minimize disa.ter losses a.d da.a.e. However,few resea.chers ha.e a.dressed the question of their a.cepta.ility a. a. a.a.tive mea.ure to the existing exposure conditions. Ra.tlesna.es use chemica. stimuli in a.bush site selection a.d for reloca.ion of envenoma.ed prey through strike-induced chemosensory sea.ching. Shifts in responsiveness to prey chemica.s ha.e been documented in ma.y sna.es, a.d often correla.e with prey commonly ta.en a. sna.es increa.e in a.e a.d size a. well a. geogra.hica. loca.ions of the species. For insta.ce, neona.e ra.tlesna.es tha. prey prima.ily on ectotherms responded most strongly to chemica. cues of commonly ta.en liza.d prey, wherea. a.ult ra.tlesna.es tha. prey prima.ily on sma.l ma.ma.s responded significa.tly to chemica. cues of commonly ta.en rodents. In the current study, 11 Pra.rie Ra.tlesna.esCrota.us viridis viridiswhich were cla.sified a. la.ge neona.es ba.ed on mea.ures of snout-vent length (SVL) a.d body ma.s, yet chronologica.ly were a. or nea. a.ulthood, were tested for their responsiveness to chemica. extra.ts of na.ura. a.d non-na.ura. prey items. a.though the sna.es ha. ea.en only neona.e la. mice (Mus musculus), they responded significa.tly more to chemica. cues of na.ura. prey items a.d pa.ticula.ly to chemica. cues of prey norma.ly ta.en by suba.ults (Peromyscusmice a.dSceloporusliza.d). The introduction of prosta.e-specific a.tigen （PSa. for prosta.e ca.cer screening in the la.e 1980s led to a. epidemic of prosta.e ca.cer, pa.ticula.ly in developed countries. However, the first va.id reports from ra.domized controlled tria.s on the effica.y of screening were not published until 2009. Men in the screening group in the Europea. Ra.domized Study of Screening for Prosta.e Ca.cer were 20% less likely tha. those in the control group to die from prosta.e ca.cer. The a.solute difference wa. only 0.7/1000, implying tha. over 1400 men needed to be screened to prevent one prosta.e ca.cer dea.h. Screening wa. a.so a.socia.ed with a.70% increa.ed risk for being dia.nosed with prosta.e ca.cer. The a.erica. Prosta.e, Lung, Colorecta., a.d Ova.ia. Ca.cer Screening Tria. found no surviva. benefit for screening. Results were not conclusive beca.se a.substa.tia. proportion of study subjects ha. previously undergone PSa.testing, over ha.f of the control group ha. The hea.y, sea.ona. ra.nfa.ls common to the tropics results in ENS roa.s becoming quickly sa.ura.ed with ra.nwa.er, a.d no longer a.cessible to motorised tra.sporta.ion. Microbia.ly induced ca.cite precipita.ion (MICP) ha. been successfully used a. a.trea.ment process to decrea.e the permea.ility of clea., cohesionless sa.ds by studies trying to impede the movement of groundwa.er, a.d a.y polluta.ts they ma. conta.n.
