Objective To assess the risk factors for upper extremity-work-related musculoskeletal disorders（UE-WMSD） on 13 prod ucti on lines in an airbag factory using the threshold limit values-American conference of industrial hygienists-hand activity level（TLV-ACGIH-HAL） method and introduce the ergonomic improvement to reduce the repe titi veness and the peak force（Pf）.Methods Professional exposure level on 13 production lines in a automobile factory was measured using the TLV-ACGIH-HAL method and a further risk was assessed according to the ergonomic *** The first assessment of 9 produc tion lines showed that the professional exposure level was above the TLV or HAL *** second assessment showed that the professional exposure level was below the AL limit on all production lines except 1,in which the professional exposure level was between TLV and *** The assessment of UE-WMSD-related risk can ide ntif y the riskiest emplacements and evaluate the reduc tion of risk in professional exposure through interventi ons of structuralorganizati onal type.

Currently,intensive research efforts focus on the fabrication of meso-structures of assembled colloidal quantum dots(QDs)with original optical and electronic *** collective features originate from the QDs coupling,depending on the number of connected units and their ***,the development of general methodologies to assemble colloidal QD with precise stoichiometry and particle-particle spacing remains a key ***,we demonstrate that dimers of CdSe QDs,stable in solution,can be obtained by engineering QD surface chemistry,reducing the surface steric hindrance and favoring the link between two *** connection is made by using alkyl dithiols as bifunctional linkers and different chain lengths are used to tune the interparticle distance from few nm down to 0.5 *** spectroscopic investigation highlights that coupling phenomena between the QDs in dimers are strongly dependent on the interparticle distance and QD size,ultimately affecting the exciton dissociation efficiency.

Binary asymmetric nanocrystals （BNCs）, composed of a photoactive TiO2 nanorod joined with a superparamagnetic γ-Fe203 spherical domain, were embedded in polyethylene glycol modified phospholipid micelle and successfully bioconjugated to a suitably designed peptide containing an RGD motif. BNCs represent a relevant multifunctional nanomaterial, owing to the coexistence of two distinct domains in one particle, characterized by high photoactivity and magnetic properties, that is particularly suited for use as a phototherapy and hyperthermia agent as well as a magnetic probe in biological imaging. We selected the RGD motif in order to target integrin expressed on activated endothelial cells and several types of cancer cells. The prepared RGD-peptide/BNC conjugates, comprehensively monitored by using complementary optical and structural techniques, demon- strated a high stability and uniform dispersibility in biological media. The cytotoxicity of the RGD-peptide/BNC conjugates was studied in vitro. The cellular uptake of RGD-peptide conjugates in the cells, assessed by means of two distinct approaches, namely confocal microscopy analysis and emission spectroscopy determination in cell lysates, displayed selectivity of the RGD-peptide-BNC conjugate for the cw]33 integrin. These RGD-peptide-BNC conjugates have a high potential for theranostic treatment of cancer.

The AidB protein is involved in the adaptive response to DNA alkylation damages in Escherichia coli. Functional proteomic experiments were designed to elucidate AidB biological functions in the presence and in the absence of methyl methanesulfonate as methylating agent. Several proteins were identified in both conditions and according to their reported biological activities, the inter-actors were grouped into three different functional categories： stress response, energetic metabolic pathways and nucleic acid metabolism. Particularly, the interaction between AidB and UvrA, a member of the UvrABCD nucleotide excision system, suggested a new interesting putative role for AidB.

Our aim is to evaluate the association between body mass index(BMI)and preoperative total testosterone(TT)levels with the risk of single and multiple metastatic lymph node invasion(LNI)in prostate cancer patients undergoing radical prostatectomy and extended pelvic lymph node *** BMI,basal levels of TT,and prostate-specific antigen(PSA)were evaluated in 361 consecutive patients undergoing radical prostatectomy with extended pelvic lymph node dissection between 2014 and 2017・Patients were grouped into either nonmetastatic,one,or more than one metastatic lymph node invasion *** association among clinical factors and LNI was *** was detected in 52(14.4%)patients:28(7.8%)cases had one metastatic node and 24(6.6%)had more than one metastatic *** the overall study population,BMI correlated inversely with TT(r=-0.256;P28 kg m^2(P28 kg m^2(P-0.048).In our study,overweight and obese patients had a higher risk of harboring multiple prostate cancer lymph node metastases and lower TT levels when compared to patients with normal BMI.

In the last decade, the world of academia has faced a period of strong/severe resource constraints/reduction. At the same time, there has been an increasing interest of the Ministry of Research （MIUR） in designing methods to evaluate University performance in order to rank efficient Universities and to reduce potential inefficiencies, so providing the administration authorities with measures that may be used for an optimal resources allocation. With this increasing interest in University performance, a wide academic debate has emerged about the models and measures adopted, based on several quantitative measures of inputs that, sometimes, have been borrowed from the Italian Health organizational model, much more consolidated in its experience. We cite, for all, the students evaluation in terms of standard cost within the resources allocation model introduced last year, and the ＂customers＂ satisfaction measurement, whose main goal is to provide an independent system of regular evaluation of student satisfaction and of the University teaching quality. The aim of this paper is to deal with the students opinion about the quality of teaching, as perceived as ＂users＂ while attending their academic courses in the health area. We agree with the statement that the high quality of healthcare services provided to the community depends also on the main factor, the human capital involved in supplying them. In Italy, the academic courses belonging to the health area provide the access to a limited number of students who passed a hard selection. This rule was introduced by the law n.264/1999 to harmonize the Italian University system to the European one in order to guarantee the high quality of students higher education in this field. AIM: To measure plasma D-dimer levels in cirrhotic patients with and without ascites, assessing the effect of ascites resolution in D-dimer concentration. METHODS: Seventy consecutive cirrhotic patients (M = 44, F = 26, mean age 65 years, SD ± 13), observed from October 2005 to March 2006 were enrolled. Circulating D-dimer levels were measured using a latex-enhanced, immunoturbidimetric test. In patients with ascites (n = 42) the test was repeated after ascites resolution. RESULTS: Ascites was present in 42 patients (group A) and absent in 28 (group B). Group A patients had more advanced liver disease. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was diagnosed in 14 patients and was more frequent in group B. Above normal range D-dimers were found in 45/70 patients. High D-dimers were more frequent in group A than in group B (P = 0.001). High D-dimers were associated with presence of HCC (P = 0.048) only in group B. After ascites resolution, obtained in all patients, mean D-dimer values decreased in those 34 patients with high basal levels (P = 0.007), returning to normal in 17. CONCLUSION: In patients with liver cirrhosis, ascites and HCC are the main factors associated with increased fibrinolytic activity.

Cicada(Magicicada)Tree Damage Detection Based on UAV Spectral and 3D Data

The periodical cicadas appear in regions of the United States in intervals of 13 or 17 years. During these intervals, deciduous trees are often impacted by the small cuts and eggs they lay in the outer branches which soon die off. Because this is such an infrequent occurrence and it is?so difficult to assess the damage across large forested areas, there is little information about the extent of this impact. The use of remote sensing techniques has been proven to be useful in forest health management to monitor large areas. In addition, the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has become a valuable tool for analysis. In this study,?we evaluated the impact of the periodical cicada occurrence on a mixed hardwood forest using UAV imagery.?The goal was to evaluate the potential of this technology as a tool for forest health monitoring. We classified the cicada impact using two Maximum Likelihood classifications, one using only the high resolution spectral derived from leaf-on imagery (MLC 1), and in the second we included the Canopy Height Model (CHM)—derived from?leaf-on Digital Surface Model (DSM) and leaf-off Digital Terrain Model (DTM)—information in the classification process (MLC 2). We evaluated the damage percentage in relation to the total forest area in 15 circular plots and observed a range from 1.03%?-22.23% for MLC 1, and 0.02%?-?10.99% for MLC 2. The accuracy of the classification was 0.35 and 0.86, for MLC 1 and MLC 2, based on the kappa index. The results allow us to highlight the importance of combining spectral and 3D information to evaluate forest health features. We believe this approach can be applied in many forest monitoring objectives in order to?detect disease or pest impacts.
