Pyridine nucleotides, ascorbate and glutathione are major redox metabolites in plant cells, with specific roles in cellular redox homeostasis and the regulation of the cell cycle. However, the regulation of these metabolite pools during exponential growth and their precise functions in the cell cycle remain to be characterized. The present analysis of the abundance of ascorbate, glutathione, and pyridine nucleotides during exponential growth of Arabidopsis cells in culture provides evidence for the differential regulation of each of these redox pools. Ascorbate was most abundant early in the growth cycle, but glutathione was low at this point. The cellular ascorbate to dehydroascorbate and reduced glutathione （GSH） to glutathione disulphide ratios were high and constant but the pyridine nucleotide pools were largely oxidized over the period of exponential growth and only became more reduced once growth had ceased. The glutathione pool increased in parallel with poly （ADP-ribose） polymerase （PARP） activities and with increases in the abundance of PARP1 and PARP2 mRNAs at a time of high cell cycle activity as indicated by transcriptome information. Marked changes in the intracellular partitioning of GSH between the cytoplasm and nucleus were observed. Extension of the exponential growth phase by dilution or changing the media led to increases in the glutathione and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidized form （NAD）-plus-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, reduced form （NADH） pools and to higher NAD/NADH ratios but the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, oxidized form （NADP）-plus-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate, reduced form （NADPH） pool sizes, and NAPD/NADPH ratios were much less affected. The ascorbate, glutathione, and pyridine nucleotide pools and PARP activity decreased before the exponential growth phase ended. The study reports photometric and spectroscopic observations of two recently recognized contact binary *** systems show total eclipses and analysis of the light curves indicates both have very low mass ratios of less than *** derive absolute parameters from color and distance based calibrations and show that,although both have low mass ratios,they are likely to be in a stable orbit and unlikely to *** other respects,both systems have characteristics similar to other contact binaries with the secondary larger and brighter than their main sequence counterparts and we also find that the secondary is considerably denser than the primary in both systems.

Specific cell subpopulations identified as cancer stem cells(CSCs)can be found in basal cell carcinoma(BCC).Generally,CSCs have a marked trans-differentiation potential that could potentially be used in differentiation ***,there are no studies regarding BCC CSCs *** aim of the study was to analyze the characteristic of CSCs of BCC with emphasis on their differentiation potential upon specific *** staining and cell morphology were used for differentiation confirmation,along with the expression analysis of osteogenic(ALP,BSP,Runx2,OCN,BMP2),chondrogenic(COL1 and COL2A1),adipogenic(PPAR-γ)and neurogenic(Nestin and MAP2)*** CSCs differentiated into osteogenic and chondrogenic lineages,as judged by staining and high expression of specific markers(from 2-to 92-fold higher upon induction).Concomitantly with differentiation,the levels of cancer stem cell markers decreased in the ***-differentiation and neuro-differentiation were *** conclusion,BCC CSCs exhibit the capacity to trans-differentiate,a characteristic that may potentially be useful in the development of new strategies for the treatment of aggressive BCCs.

Advanced 1.5-μm emitting materials that can be used to fabricate electrically driven light-emitting devices have the potential for developing cost-effective light sources for integrated silicon *** erbium(Er^(3+))in organic materials can give bright 1.5-μm luminescence and provide a route for realizing 1.5-μm organic light emitting diodes(OLEDs).However,the Er3+electroluminescence(EL)intensity needs to be further improved for device ***,an efficient 1.5-μm OLED made from a sensitized organic Er3+co-doped system is realized,where a“traditional”organic phosphorescent molecule with minimal triplet–triplet annihilation is used as a chromophore *** chromophore provides efficient sensitization to a co-doped organic Er^(3+) complex with a perfluorinatedligand *** large volume can protect the Er^(3+) 1.5-μm luminescence from vibrational *** average lifetime of the sensitized Er^(3+) 1.5-μm luminescence reaches ~0.86 ms,with a lifetime component of 2.65 ms,which is by far the longest Er^(3+) lifetime in a hydrogen-abundant organic environment and can even compete with that obtained in the fully fluorinated organic Er^(3+) *** optimal sensitization enhances the Er^(3+) luminescence by a factor of 1600 even with a high concentration of the phosphorescent molecule,and bright 1.5-μm OLEDs are obtained.

BACKGROUND Patients discharged after hospitalization for acute heart failure(AHF) are frequently readmitted due to an incomplete decongestion, which is difficult to assess clinically. Recently, it has been shown that the use of a highly sensitive,non-invasive device measuring lung impedance(LI) reduces hospitalizations for heart failure(HF); it has also been shown that this device reduces the cardiovascular and all-cause mortality of stable HF patients when used in longterm out-patient follow-ups. The aim of these case series is to demonstrate the potential additive role of non-invasive home LI monitoring in the early postdischarge *** SUMMARY We present a case series of three patients who had performed daily LI measurements at home using the edema guard monitor(EGM) during 30 d after an episode of AHF. All patients had a history of chronic ischemic HF with a reduced ejection fraction and were hospitalized for 6–17 d. LI measurements were successfully made at home by patients with the help of their caregivers. The patients were carefully followed up by HF specialists who reacted to the values of LI measurements, blood pressure, heart rate and clinical symptoms. LI reduction was a more frequent trigger to medication adjustments compared to changes in symptoms or vital signs. Besides, LI dynamics closely tracked the use and dose of *** Our case series suggests non-invasive home LI monitoring with EGM to be a reliable and potentially useful tool for the early detection of congestion or dehydration and thus for the further successful stabilization of a HF patient after a worsening episode.

In the paper, we aim to show N-(2,4,6-trinitrophenyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazol-3-amine (HM-I) as explosive material that satisfies requirements of sensitivity and hydrolytically stability. The influence of nitro group substitutions on the thermal and chemical stability as well as the explosive performance of HM-I is also investigated. We found that nitro group substitution to the triazole ring of HM-I can significantly improve the properties of this new material. Only -NH2 substitution position (but not their number) in the core molecule is appropriate to increase the stability and improve explosive performances of HM-I.

The importance of investment for the development of some country is undeniable. In today＇s economic conditions, it is necessary to observe all the influencing factors and examine their impact on the investments in the economy of some country. The goal of each country is to create a favorable climate （conditions） for the investments, because they stimulate the growth and development of the country. The aim of this paper is to point of the current situation （the past few years） of the foreign investments in Serbia＇s economy and to highlight the main factors that influenced this situation. In a past few years, there is another trend of unexploited resource of investment seen in Serbia, which is more and more attractive in the region, but unfortunately unjustly neglected in Serbia. These sources are venture capital and private equity funds. Some of the influencing factors that must be emphasized are the country＇s general economic situation, political risks, taxation, the financing of the investments, the government＇s incentives （subsidies）, support from some specialized institutions, etc..
