Azithromycin(AZT)is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the group of macrolides that acts against several Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria,which has promoted its use in the treatment of different respiratory and sexually transmitted ***,its presence in environmental matrices and in the effluents of conventional wastewater treatment plants has been evidenced in recent years,which reflects the need to develop new treatment alternatives that allow its total removal and minimize the eventual adverse effects,selection of resistant bacterial strains,associated with its presence in water *** sunlight radiation and H2O2 were used to remove AZT from water assessing the effects of operational parameters like the solution initial pH and the peroxide *** indicate that hydroxyl free radical is the main responsible for pollutant removal but acidic solution conditions and larger H2O2 doses negatively affect OHgeneration under the evaluated experimental *** removal was almost complete after 120 min of *** addition,reduction of the organic carbon content in the treated samples was^50.0%;and a significant increase of nitrates concentration in solution was evidenced.

AIM: To clarify human papillomavirus (HPV) involvement in carcinogenesis of the upper digestive tract of virological and pathological analyses. METHODS: The present study examined the presence of HPV in squamous cell carcinomas of the oral cavity (n = 71), and esophagus (n = 166) collected from Japan, Pakistan and Colombia, with different HPV exposure risk and genetic backgrounds. The viral load and physical status of HPV16 and HPV16-E6 variants were examined. Comparison of p53 and p16InK4a expression in HPV-positive and HPV-negative cases was also made. RESULTS: HPV16 was found in 39 (55%) oral carcinomas (OCs) and 24 (14%) esophageal carcinomas (ECs). This site-specific difference in HPV detection between OCs and ECs was statistically significant (P nificant difference in the geographical distribution of HPV16-E6 variants. Multiple infections of different HPV types were found in 13 ECs, but multiple infections were not found in OCs. This difference was statistically significant (P = 0.001). The geometric means (95% confidence interval) of HPV16 viral load in OCs and ECs were 0.06 (0.02-0.18) and 0.12 (0.05-0.27) copies per cell, respectively. The expression of p16InK4a proteins was increased by the presence of HPV in ECs (53% and 33% in HPV-positive and-negative ECs, respectively; P = 0.036), and the high-risk type of the HPV genome was not detected in surrounding normal esophageal mucosa of HPV-positive ECs. COnCLUSIOn: Based on our results, we cannot deny the possibility of HPV16 involvement in the carcinogenesis of the esophagus.

通过将纳米颗粒的孔隙率和形貌作为微反应器系统,可以合成高度交联的聚合物,通过一锅反应在二氧化硅纳米颗粒上接枝聚(n-异丙基丙烯酰胺)(PnIPAM)来合成杂化纳米材料。以降低其他众所周知的嫁接程序的复杂性和成本。二氧化硅纳米粒子的性能可通过模板剂和孔膨胀剂进行调节,从而获得球形和棒状形态,尺寸小于100 nm,孔径最大为3.5 nm。使用不同的引发剂体系和n,n’-亚甲基双丙烯酰胺作为交联剂,在80°C下进行聚合反应4小时。发现引发剂的溶解度及其添加方式显著影响最终材料的聚集和接枝纳米颗粒的尺寸分布。使用扫描电子显微镜(SEM),透射电子显微镜(TEM),物理吸附分析,热重分析(TGA),FTIR光谱,HnMR光谱,差示扫描量热法(DSC)和动态光散射(DLS)对材料进行表征。考察如何通过改变二氧化硅核纳米粒子的性质来修饰聚合物壳,表明该方法可用于药物递送系统的智能材料的简单程序,以及构建更复杂结构的基础材料。

Lipocalins are one of the groups of allergens derived from domestic animals with clinical importance for the development of allergic responses. They have been characterized in different animals. With allergenic capacity characterized, little is known about the epitopes involved in allergic responses. Here, potential antigenic regions involved in cross-reactivity among lipocalins were explored through bioinformatics tools. The amino acid sequences of several lipocalins from different domestic animals (mouse, dog, cat, bull, hamster, horse and pig) were used to determine the degree of kinship by phylogenetic studies. Groups with highest phylogenetic relation were obtained by using MEGA software. 3D models of lipocalins not reported in the protein data bank were modeled by homology to identify potential antigenic regions compromised in the cross-reactivity of this group of allergens. The alignment of the entire database of allergenic lipocalins and the inferred maximum likelihood tree segregate lipocalins into five monophyletic clades (referenced here as A, B, C, D and E). According to the multiple pairing analyzes, group C (Fel d 4, Rat n 1 and Equ c 1) showed the highest degree of identity among their amino acid sequences (58%). The analysis of conserved and exposed residues showed that group C shares three antigenic regions that could potentially contribute to its cross-reactivity. Potential antigenic sites were identified for the generation of cross-reactivity between the different lipocalins analyzed in this study. These studies support the need to carry out directed mutagenesis tests to confirm their relevance in the allergenic capacity of lipocalins.

The progressive stacking of chalcogenide single layers gives rise to two- dimensional semiconducting materials with tunable properties that can be exploited for new field-effect transistors and photonic devices. Yet the properties of some members of the chalcogenide family remain unexplored. Indium selenide （InSe） is attractive for applications due to its direct bandgap in the near infrared, controllable p- and n-type doping and high chemical stability. Here, we reveal the lattice dynamics, optical and electronic properties of atomically thin InSe flakes prepared by micromechanical cleavage. Raman active modes stiffen or soften in the flakes depending on which electronic bonds are excited. A progressive blue-shift of the photoluminescence peaks is observed for decreasing flake thickness （as large as 0.2 eV for three single layers）. First-principles calculations predict an even larger increase in the bandgap, 0.40 eV, for three single layers, and as much as 1.1 eV for a single layer. These results are promising from the point of view of the versatility of this material for optoelectronic applications at the nanometer scale and compatible with Si and III-V technologies.
