Effects of a blend of Saccharomyces cerevisiae-based direct-fed microbial and fermentation products on plasma carbonylmetabolome and fecal bacterial community of beef steers

Background:Previous studies have evaluated the metabolic status of animals fed direct-fed microbial(dFM)using enzyme-based assays which are time-consuming and limited to a few *** addition,little emphasis has been placed on investigating the effects of dFM on hindgut *** examined the effects of dietary supplementation of a blend of Saccharomyces cerevisiae-based dFM and fermentation products on the plasma concentrations of carbonyl-containing metabolites via a metabolomics approach,and fecal bacterial community,via 16S rRNA gene sequencing,of beef steers during a 42-day receiving *** newly weaned steers were randomly assigned to receive a basal diet with no additive(CON;n=20)or a basal diet supplemented with 19 g of Commence™(PROB;n=20)for a 42-day ***™(PMI,Arden Hills,MN)is a blend of 6.2×1011 cfu/g of ***,3.5×1010 cfu/g of a mixture of Enterococcus lactis,Bacillus subtilis,Enterococcus faecium,and Lactobacillus casei,and the fermentation products of these aforementioned microorganisms and those of Aspergillus oryzae and Aspergillus *** d 0 and 40,rectal fecal samples were collected randomly from 10 steers from each treatment *** d 42,blood was collected for plasma ***:A total number of 812 plasma metabolites were *** to 305 metabolites[fold change(FC)≥1.5,FdR≤0.01]including glucose,hippuric acid,and 5-hydroxykynurenamine were increased by PROB supplementation,whereas 199 metabolites(FC≤0.63,FdR≤0.01)including acetoacetate were *** of PROB increased(P≤0.05)the relative abundance of Prevotellaceae UCG-003,Megasphaera,dorea,Acetitomaculum,and *** contrast,the relative abundance of Elusimicrobium,Moheibacter,Stenotrophomonas,Comamonas,and uncultured bacterium belonging to family p-2534-18B5 gut group(phylum Bacteroidetes)were reduced(P≤0.05).Conclusions:The results of this study demonstrated that supplementation of PROB altered both the plasma carbonyl metab

The Quaternary volcanic province of Payenia is located in southern Mendoza and northern Neuquén provinces of Argentina and is characterized by a dominant basaltic composition. The volcanic province covers an area larger than 40,000 km2 and its origin and evolution has been the center of several *** this study we analyzed gravity data together with more accurate volcanic volumes calculations in order to investigate the subsurface structure of the Payenia volcanic province. The volume of material was calculated using digital elevation models and geographic information system（GIS） techniques to estimate the volume of material erupted and then, with those values, make an estimation of the intrusive material that could be located within the crust. The results of the calculations were compared with different 2d-sections constructed to model the gravity data and compare with the observed satellite gravity. After evaluating different models which have been generated to match both： the observed gravity data and the subsurface material calculated, we discuss those that best fit with observation. The results clearly indicate that the lithosphere is attenuated below the region.

Physical model experiments for sediment supply to the old Rhine through induced bank erosion

Variations of OCT measurements corrected for the magnification effect according to axial length and refractive error in children

On September 20 th, 2015, twenty satellites were successfully deployed into a near-polar circular orbit at 520 km altitude by the Chinese CZ-6 test rocket, which was launched from the Tai Yuan Satellite Launch Center. Among these satellites, a set of 4 Cube Sats conform the atmospheric density detection and precise orbit determination(APOd) mission, which is projected for atmospheric density estimation from in-situ detection and precise orbit products. The APOd satellites are manufactured by China Spacesat Co. Ltd. and the payload instruments include an atmospheric density detector(Add), a dual-frequency dualmode global navigation satellite system(GNSS) receiver(GPS and Beidou), a satellite laser ranging(SLR) reflector, and an S/Xband very long baseline interferometry(VLBI) beacon. In this paper, we compare the GNSS precise orbit products with colocated SLR observations, and the 3 d orbit accuracy shows better than 10 cm RMS. These results reveal the great potential of the onboard micro-electro-mechanical system(MEMS) GNSS receiver. After calibrating Add density estimates with precise orbit products, the accuracy of our density products can reach about 10% with respect to the background density. density estimates from APOd are of a great importance for scientific studies on upper atmosphere variations and useful for model data assimilation.

Chronic stress sensitizes rats to pancreatitis induced by cerulein:Role of TNF-α

AIM:To investigate chronic stress as a susceptibility factor for developing pancreatitis,as well as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) as a putative ***:Rat pancreatic acini were used to analyze the influence of TNF-α on submaximal (50 pmol/L) cholecystokinin (CCK) *** restraint (4 h every day for 21 d) was used to evaluate the effects of submaximal (0.2 μg/kg per hour) cerulein stimulation on chronically stressed ***:In vitro exposure of pancreatic acini toTNF-α disorganized the actin *** was further increased by TNF-α/CCK treatment,which additionally reduced amylase secretion,and increased trypsin and nuclear factor-κB activities in a protein-kinase-C δ and ε-dependent ***-α/CCK also enhanced caspases' activity and lactate dehydrogenase release,induced ATP loss,and augmented the AdP/ATP *** vivo,rats under chronic restraint exhibited elevated serum and pancreatic TNF-α ***,pancreatic,and lung inflammatory parameters,as well as caspases' activity in pancreatic and lung tissue,were substantially enhanced in stressed/cerulein-treated rats,which also experienced tissues' ATP loss and greater AdP/ATP *** examination revealed that stressed/cerulein-treated animals developed abundant pancreatic and lung edema,hemorrhage and leukocyte infiltrate,and pancreatic *** severity was greatly decreased by treating animals with an anti-TNF-αantibody,which diminished all inflammatory parameters,histopathological scores,and apoptotic/necrotic markers in stressed/cerulein-treated ***:In rats,chronic stress increases susceptibility for developing pancreatitis,which involves TNF-α sensitization of pancreatic acinar cells to undergo injury by physiological cerulein stimulation.

Cyclin-dependent kinases 4 and 6(CdK4/6)inhibitors demonstrated activity in terms of progression-free survival(PFS)in advanced dedifferentiated liposarcoma(dd-LPS),a sarcoma with CdK4 ***4 overexpression is by far more common than amplification in sarcomas and it might be a rational target for CdK *** investigators of this study found that CdK4 overexpression,while not of CdKN2A,was the most consistent predictive factor for palbociclib efficacy in *** adult-type soft-tissue sarcoma,excluding dd-LPS,or bone sarcoma patients,progressing after at least one systemic line,whose tumors overexpressed CdK4,but not CdKN2A at baseline biopsy,were accrued in this single-arm phase II trial(EudraCT number:2016-004039-19).With the main endpoint of a 6-month PFS rate,40%was considered promising in this *** was administered orally at 125 mg/day for 21 days in 28-day cycles.A total of 214 patients with 236 CdK4/CdKN2A determinations were assessed for prescreening,archival material(141),and screening,baseline biopsy(95).There were 28(29%)with favorable mRNA profiles from 95 screened patients at *** 23 enrolled patients,21 evaluable,the 6-month PFS rate was 29%(95%CI 9–48),and there were 6 patients out of 21 with a PFS longer than 6 *** median PFS and overall survival were 4.2(95%CI 3.6–4.8)and 12(95%CI 8.7–15.4)months,*** research showed a significant correlation between CdK4 mRNA and protein *** was active in a variety of sarcoma subtypes,selected by CdK4/CdKN2A,and deserves further investigation in the sarcoma context.

Removal of herbicide 2,4-d using constructed wetlands at pilot scale

Herbicide 2,4-d is one of the most widely used in the *** this way,its presence on different bodies of water has been *** this paper the efficiency of horizontal-subsurface flow constructedwetlands for 2,4-d removal in aqueous solutions was *** were constructed using fiberglass,and grown with Phragmites *** influent consisted of synthetic wastewater under different 2,4-d and glucose initial *** indicated that,under the evaluated experimental conditions,2,4-d extent of removal was between 71.0 and 99.0%.In general,it can be noted that an increase in the herbicide concentration reduces the removal efficiency,probably due to a toxic effect on the biological *** the other hand,the influent dissolved organic carbon(dOC)initial concentration had a significant effect on the removal of both,the herbicide and the organic matter content in the system,demonstrating that this parameter has a significant effect on this kind of biological methods for water ***,it can be concluded that constructed wetlands are a viable alternative for the treatment of wastewater contaminated with the herbicide 2,4-d.
