Background:Tinnitus is a sound precepted without an external sound *** background can be categorised into primary and secondary *** secondary cases include pathologies of the external,middle and inner *** can be objective or subjective;the latter can only identified by the *** research results have shown that tinnitus significantly affects the quality of life and daily ***:To analyse the impact of tinnitus on the daily functioning and the possible influence of demographical data and tinnitus duration on ***:630 patients(265 males and 365 females,25e85 years of age)suffering from primary tinnitus were *** the Hungarian language,these patients completed the Tinnitus Handicap Inventory(THI)questionnaire and underwent a complete otorhinolaryngological *** sPss V24 software was used for data processing;correlation tests,the Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric tests were ***:According to the THI questionnaires outcomes,most patients(62.5%)were presented with a mild *** on statistical analysis,no significant correlation was observed between the total THI points and the age of the patients,along with the duration and localisation of the ***,the total THI scores of male and female patients significantly differed,indicating higher THI values in the female group(p=0.00052*).Conclusions:The tinnitus severity was not affected by the duration,localisation of the symptoms and age but by gender,indicating higher values in the case of females.

It is well established that in current human-dominated world,environmental change is closely coupled with socio-economic factors,and this is reflected in conceptual frameworks of important policies(Díaz et al.2015).Humans are adversely affecting biodiversity and climate change on a planetary scale(Rockström et al.2009).Anthropogenic transformation of ecosystems has been driven by rapid social and economic changes,manifested by direct drivers such as land use change and climate change(Nelson et al.2006).Central and Eastern Europe(CEE)has been a rap-idly transitioning region in terms of economic growth and political *** the collapse of former Eastern Bloc and revolutions in several CEE countries after 1989,CEE countries have been undergoing political and economic transformation toward democracy and free *** accession to the European Union also brought in changes of political environment and ecosystem management possibilities and *** socioeconomic changes have influenced environmental condition and ecosystem management in this region,with changing pres-sures on biodiversity and ecosystem *** changes in Central and Eastern Europe have been closely linked especially to agricultural *** example,inorganic fertilizer use in several CEE countries dropped in a single year to 25%of its former level after the collapse of ***,in turn,had an enormous impact on farmland biodiversity(stoate et al.2009).

Agencies in charge of flood management use disaster reports(DRs)as the preferred source of information on past flooding events.A systematic survey of DRs prepared by Italian agencies suggests that DRs could be widely enhanced in view of targeting more effective communication to citizens,reinforcing the communication pillar in civil protection planning and management,and improving the resilience of the population to extreme *** loss of the rigor and details required for all the usual technical uses of DRs,we suggest recompiling them in the form of"disaster tales"(DTs),as tools that offer wider knowledge of the events to improve people’s preparedness and self-protection *** major flooding events have demonstrated the communication potential that videos and pictures taken by citizens have for risk perception and disaster *** watching and listening to what has happened the communication recipient can better understand the feelings of the people experiencing an *** structure of the improved reports,we suggest,will finally integrate data,graphs,and maps with interactive tools and be able to present handier multimedia views of the *** to three case studies of flooding in Italy illustrates how to concretely implement the suggested disaster reports to create more readily accessible disaster tales.

shorebird populations are declining worldwide,mainly due to human disturbances and loss of coastal ***,supratidal habitats as saltpans could play a role in buffering human *** have shown to be important as feeding or breeding sites of some shorebird species.A potential conservation strategy to increase shorebird populations in saltpans is to manipulate the cues that birds use to select optimal breeding *** it is hypothesized that shorebirds are attracted to bivalve shells due to the advantages they *** this hypothesis,we supplemented a restored saltpan in 2019 and 2021 with bivalve shells,expecting an increase in the number of breeding birds’ *** than 75% of Kentish Plover(Charadrius alexandrinus) and Little Tern(sternula albifrons) nests were found in patches with shells in both *** best model for both species indicates that the presence of shells is the factor that most correlates with the location of *** probability of choosing one place over another to settle their nest increases in areas with an abundance of shells,double in the case of the Kentish Plover and triple in the case of the Little *** result of this study may constitute a valuable tool for attracting birds to restored saltpans and could contribute to the success of expensive restoration projects where time is usually a constraint.

Evaluating Conservation Effectiveness of Nature Reserves Established for surrogate species:Case of a Giant Panda Nature Reserve in Qinling Mountains,China

Many nature reserves are established to protect the habitat needs of particular endangered species of interest but their effectiveness for protecting other species is *** this study,this effectiveness was evaluated in a nature reserve network located in the Qinling Mountains,shaanxi Province,*** network of reserves was established mainly for the conservation of the giant panda,a species considered as a surrogate for the conservation of many other endangered species in the *** habitat suitability of nine protected species,including the giant panda,was modeled by using Maximum Entropy(MAXENT)and their spatial congruence was *** suitability of these species was also overlapped with nature reserve boundaries and their management zones(i.e.,core,buffer and experimental zones).Results show that in general the habitat of the giant panda constitutes a reasonable surrogate of the habitat of other protected species,and giant panda reserves protect a relatively high proportion of the habitat of other protected ***,giant panda habitat conservation also allows the conservation of the habitat of other protected species in the ***,a large area of suitable habitat was excluded from the nature reserve *** addition,four species exhibited a low proportion of highly suitable habitat inside the core zones of nature *** suggests that a high proportion of suitable habitat of protected species not targeted for conservation is located in the experimental and buffer zones,thus,is being affected by human *** increase their conservation effectiveness,nature reserves and their management zones need to be re-examined in order to include suitable habitat of more endangered *** procedures described in this study can be easily implemented for the conservation of many endangered species not only in China but in many other parts of the world.

Computing has become more invisible, widespread and ubiquitoussince the inception of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Web of Things. Multipledevices that surround us meet user’s requirements everywhere. Multiple Middleware Framework (MF) designs have come into existence because of the rapiddevelopment of interactive services in Heterogeneous systems. This resulted inthe delivery of interactive services throughout Heterogeneous Environments(HE). Users are given free navigation between devices in a widespread environment and continuously interact with each other from any chosen device. Numerous interactive devices with recent interactive platforms (for example, smartPhones, Mobile Phones, Personal Computer (PC) and Personal Digital Assistant(PDA)) are available in the market. For easy access to information and servicesirrespective of the device used for working and even at the drastic change ofthe environment, the execution of applications on a broad spectrum of computingdevices is propelled by the availability of the above-mentioned platforms. Different applications that need interoperability to coordinate and correspond with eachother should be facilitated. Using a standard interface and data format, HE mustlink various devices from various platforms together to communicate with eachother. To aid the interactive services performed by a middleware framework thatoperates on Application Programming Interface (API) over HEs, this issue aims toendorse an Adaptable service Application Programming Interface (AsAPI).

Biodiversity declines in an unprecedented way,mostly due to land use *** interventions proved to be one of the most effective tools to halt the decline,especially in ecosystems such as agricultural ***-based,locally adapted recommendations on grassland restoration,however,are often missing,so we present a novel approach for such interventions that can be implemented anywhere and that are based on scientific *** a recently started long-term field ecological study,we established 0.5 ha wildflower parcels,using a diverse local seed mixture of 32 insect-visited plant species in Central European agricultural landscapes in *** focus is on the landscape-scale effects of this ecological intensification on ecosystem services such as crop yield,pollination and pest control,and the long-term monitoring of the successional *** aim is to showcase an effective restoration protocol that could serve as a model for future farm management,and provide much-needed evidence for policy on landscape ecological restoration of international relevance.

Internet of Medical Things(IoMT)enabled e-healthcare has the potential to greately improve conventional healthcare services ***,security and privacy become major issues of IoMT because of the restricted processing abilities,storage,and energy constraints of the ***,it leads to infeasibility of developing traditional cryptographic solutions to the IoMT *** order to ensure security on sensitive medical data,effective encryption and authentication techniques need to be designed to assure security of the patients and healthcare service *** this view,this study designs an effective metaheuristic optimization based encryption with user authentication(EMOE-UA)technique for IoMT *** work proposes an EMOE-UA technique aims to accomplish mutual authentication for addressing the security issues and reducing the computational ***,the EMOE-UA technique employs optimal multikey homomorphic encryption(OMKHE)technique to encrypt the IoMT ***,the improved social spider optimization algorithm(IssOA)was employed for the optimal multikey generation of the MKHE *** experimental result analysis of the EMOE-UA technique takes place using benchmark data and the results are examined under various *** simulation results reported the considerably better performance of the EMOE-UA technique over the existing techniques.

Parosteal osteosarcoma (POs) is the most common form of surface osteosarcoma. Its symptoms are insidious and its duration prior to diagnosis is considerably longer than that of other types of osteosarcoma. We report a case of POs with a growing mass but no evidence of metastasis. This tumor, which was diagnosed as calcified hematoma with benign characteristics, was incompletely resected in our hospital 21 years before the diagnosis of recurrence. The patient underwent a wide en bloc resection in our hospital and was free of symptoms, with no signs of tumor recurrence or metastasis during a 53-month follow-up.
