A fundamental aspect of society is the exchange and discussion of opinions between individuals, occurring in situations as varied as company board.o.ms, elementary school classrooms and.o.line social media. After a very brief introduction to the established results of the most fundamental opinion dynamics models, which seek to mathematically capture observed social phenomena, a brief discussion follows on several recent themes pursued by the authors building on the fundamental ideas. In the first theme, we study the way an individual′s self-confidence can develop through contributing to discussions on a sequence of topics, reaching a consensus in each case,where the consensus value to some degree reflects the contribution of that individual to the conclusion. during this process, the individuals in the network and the way they interact can change. The second theme introduces a novel discrete-time model of opinion dynamics to study how discrepancies between an individual′s expressed and private opinions can arise due to stubbornness and a pressure to conform to a social norm. It is also shown that a few extremists can create "pluralistic ignorance", where people believe there is majority support for a position but in fact the position is privately rejected by the majority. Last, we consider a group of individuals discussing a collection of logically related topics. In particular, we identify that for topics whose logical interdependencies take on a cascade structure,disagreement in opinions can occur if individuals have competing and.o. heterogeneous views on how the topics are related, i.e., the logical interdependence structure varies between individuals.

Loss of synapse and functional connectivity in brain circuits is associated with aging and neurodegeneration,however,few molecular mechanisms are known to intrinsically promote synaptogenesis or enhance synapse *** have previously shown that MET receptor tyrosine kinase in the developing cortical circuits promotes dendritic growth and dendritic spine *** investigate whether enhancing MET in adult cortex has synapse regenerating potential,we created a knockin mouse line,in which the human MET gene expression and signaling can be turned.o. in adult(10–12 months)cortical neurons through doxycycline-containing *** found that similar to the developing brain,turning on MET signaling in the adult cortex activates small GTPases and increases spine density in prefrontal projection *** findings are further corroborated by increased synaptic activity and transient generation of immature silent *** MET signaling resulted in an increasedα-amino-3-hyd.o.y-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid/N-methyl-daspartate(AMPA/NMdA)receptor current ratio,indicative of enhanced synaptic function and *** data reveal that enhancing MET signaling could be an interventional approach to promote synaptogenesis and preserve functional connectivity in the adult *** findings may have implications for regenerative therapy in aging and neurodegeneration conditions.

Pelviureteric junction obstruction in adults:A systematic review of the literature

Background:Pelviureteric junction obstruction(PUJo)is a common urological disorder that can present at any stage of *** underlying etiology in children has been well studied;however,a gap exists in the literature for the adult ***,we performed a systematic review of the literature to evaluate the current evidence on the underlying etiologies of adult patients presenting with *** and methods:Four electronic databases were searched for relevant studies assessing the underlying etiologies of pelviureteric junction obstruction in *** were assessed for eligibility based.o. predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria,and a critical appraisal of methodological quality and risk of bias was ***,qualitative and quantitative data analyses were ***:Twelve studies comprising a total of 513 patients with rad.o.ogically confirmed PUJo met the inclusion criteria and were included in our *** most common finding was crossing vessels,which were observed in 50.5%of patients,followed by intrinsic ureteral stenosis(27.1%),adhesions(15.3%),and high insertion of the ureter(10.1%).Conclusions:The underlying etiologies of PUJo in adults remain *** studyindicated that obstruction secondary to crossing vessels is the most common cause of obstruction in adults and.o.curs more frequently than in the pediatric population.

IRX14 and IRX14-LIKE （IRX14L） are two closely related glycosyl transferases in the glycosyl transferase 43 （GT43） family of Arabidopsis. A T-dNA insertion mutant for IRX14 results in comparatively minor changes, such as irregular xylem, while a mutation for IRX14L results in no changes. However, an irx14 and irx14L double mutant severely affects growth and development, with the dwarf plants failing to produce an inflorescence stem. Plants that are homozygous for IRX14 but heterozygous for IRX14L （irx14 irx14L（±）） exhibit an intermediate phenotype, including noticeably smaller leaves, stems, and underdeveloped siliques. Additionally, the T-dNA insertion mutant for IRX14 was found to result in a d.o.ght-tolerant phenotype. Carbohydrate analysis of total cell wall extracts revealed a reduction in xylose for the irx14 and irx14 irx14L（±） mutants, consistent with a defect in glucuronoxylan biosynthesis. Immunolocalization of xylan with the LM10 antibody revealed a loss of xylan in irx14 mutants and a further reduction in the irx14 irx14L（±） mutants. IRX14L likely functions redundantly with IRX14 in glucuronoxylan biosynthesis, with IRX14 having a more important role in the process.

We present an interior model of Saturn with an ice-rock core,a metallic region,an outer molecular envelope and a thin transition layer between the metallic and molecular *** shape of Saturn’s 1 bar surface is irregular and determined fully self-consistently by the required equilibrium *** the ice-rock core is assumed to have a uniform density,three different equations of state are adopted for the metallic,molecular and transition *** Saturnian model is constrained by its known mass,its known equatorial and polar radii,and its known zonal gravitational coefficients,J_（2n）,n=1,2,*** model produces an ice-rock core with equatorial radius 0.203 R_S,where R_S is the equatorial radius of Saturn at the 1-bar pressure surface;the core densityρ_c=10388.1 kgm^（3）corresponding to 13.06 Earth masses;and an analytical expression describing the Saturnian irregular shape of the 1-bar pressure *** model also predicts the values of the higher-order gravitational coefficients,J_8,J_10 and J_12,for the hyd.o.tatic Saturn and suggests that Saturn’s convective dynamo operates in the metallic region approximately defined by 0.2 R_S

The cloud-level zonal winds of Saturn are marked by a substantial equatorially antisymmetric component with a speed.o. about 50 m s^-1 which, if they are sufficiently deep, can produce measurable odd zonal gravitational coefficients △J2 k＋1, k = 1, 2, 3, 4. This study, based.o. solutions of the thermal-gravitational wind equation, provides a theoretical basis for interpreting the odd gravitational coefficients of Saturn in terms of its equatorially antisymmetric zonal flow. We adopt a Saturnian model comprising an ice-rock core, a metallic dynamo region and an outer molecular envelope. We use an equatorially antisymmetric zonal flow that is parameterized, confined in the molecular envelope and satisfies the solvability condition required for the thermal-gravitational wind equation. The structure and amplitude of the zonal flow at the cloud level are chosen to be consistent with observations of *** calculate the odd zonal gravitational coefficients △J2k＋1, k = 1, 2, 3, 4 by regarding the depth of the equatorially antisymmetric winds as a parameter. It is found that △J3 is-4.197 × 10^-8 if the zonal winds extend about 13 000 km downward from the cloud tops while it is-0.765 × 10^-8 if the depth is about 4000 km. The depth/profile of the equatorially antisymmetric zonal winds can eventually be estimated when the high-precision measurements of the Cassini Grand Finale become available.
