The Scheil-Gulliver equation is essential for assessing solid fractions during alloy solidification in materials *** the prevalent use of the Calculation of Phase Diagrams(CALPHAD)method,its computational intensity and time are limiting the simulation ***,Artificial Intelligence has emerged as a potent tool in materials science,offering robust and reliable predictive modeling *** study introduces an ensemble-based method that has the potential to enhance the prediction of the partitioning coefficient(k)in the Scheil equation by inputting various alloy *** findings demonstrate that this approach can predict the temperature and solid fraction at the eutectic temperature with an accuracy exceeding 90%,while the accuracy for k prediction surpasses 70%.Additionally,a case study on a commercial alloy revealed that the model's predictions are within a 5℃deviation from experimental results,and the predicted solid fraction at the eutectic temperature is within a 15%difference of the values obtained from the CALPHAD model.

A novel polybenzimidazole(PBI)-based trilayer membrane assembly is developed for application in vanadium redox flow battery(VRFB).The membrane comprises a 1μm thin cross-linked poly[2,2′-(p-oxydiphenylene)−5,5′-bibenzimidazole](OPBI)sandwiched between two 20μm thick porous OPBI membranes(p-OPBI)without further lamination *** trilayer membrane demonstrates exceptional properties,such as high conductivity and low area-specific resistance(ASR)of 51 mS cm−1 and 81mΩcm^(2),*** with vanadium electrolyte increases the ASR of trilayer membrane only to 158mΩcm^(2),while that of Nafion is 193mΩcm^(2).VO^(2+)permeability is 2.73×10^(-9) cm^(2) min^(−1),about 150 times lower than that of Nafion *** addition,the membrane has high mechanical strength and high chemical stability against VO^(2+).In VRFB,the combination of low resistance and low vanadium permeability results in excellent performance,revealing high Coulombic efficiency(>99%),high energy efficiency(ee;90.8%at current density of 80mA cm^(−2)),and long-term *** ee is one of the best reported to date.

we discuss the concept of typicality of quantum states at quantum-critical points, using projector Monte Carlo simu- lations of an S ---- 1/2 bilayer Heisenberg antiferromagnet as an illustration. with the projection （imaginary） time t scaled as t= aLz, L being the system length and z the dynamic critical exponent （which takes the value z = 1 in the bilayer model studied here）, a critical point can be identified which asymptotically flows to the correct location and universality class with increasing L, independently of the prefactor a and the initial state. Varying the proportionality factor a and the initial state only changes the cross-over behavior into the asymptotic large-L behavior. In some cases, choosing an optimal factor a may also lead to the vanishing of the leading finite-size corrections. The observation of typicality can be used to speed up simulations of quantum criticality, not only within the Monte Carlo approach but also with other numerical methods where imaginary-time evolution is employed, e.g., tensor network states, as it is not necessary to evolve fully to the ground state but only for sufficiently long times to reach the typicality regime.

we report a quantum Monte Carlo study of the phase transition between antiferromagnetic and valence-bond solid ground states in the square-lattice S=1/2 J-Q *** critical correlation function of the Q terms gives a scaling dimension corresponding to the value v=0.455±0.002 of the correlation-length *** value agrees with previous(less precise)results from conventional methods,e.g.,finite-size scaling of the nearcritical order *** also study the Q-derivatives of the Binder cumulants of the order parameters for L2 lattices with L up to *** slope grows as L1/v with a value of v consistent with the scaling dimension of the Q *** are no indications of runaway flow to a first-order phase *** mutually consistent estimates of v provide compelling support for a continuous deconfined quantum-critical point.

we use quantum Monte Carlo simulations to study an S = 1/2 spin model with competing multi-spin interactions. we find a quantum phase transition between a columnar valence-bond solid(cVBS) and a Néel antiferromagnet(AFM), as in the scenario of deconfined quantum-critical points, as well as a transition between the AFM and a staggered valence-bond solid(sVBS). By continuously varying a parameter, the sVBS–AFM and AFM–cVBS boundaries merge into a direct sVBS–cVBS transition. Unlike previous models with putative deconfined AFM–cVBS transitions, e.g., the standard J–Q model,in our extended J–Q model with competing cVBS and sVBS inducing terms the transition can be tuned from continuous to first-order. we find the expected emergent U(1) symmetry of the microscopically Z4 symmetric cVBS order parameter when the transition is continuous. In contrast, when the transition changes to first-order, the clock-like Z4 fluctuations are absent and there is no emergent higher symmetry. we argue that the confined spinons in the sVBS phase are *** also present results for an SU(3) symmetric model with a similar phase diagram. The new family of models can serve as a useful tool for further investigating open questions related to deconfined quantum criticality and its associated emergent symmetries.

extreme weather conditions occur at an increasing rate as evidenced by higher frequency of hurricanes and more extreme precipitation and temperature anomalies. Such extreme environmental conditions will have important implications for all living organisms through greater frequency of reproductive failure and reduced adult survival. we review examples of reproductive failure and reduced survival related to extreme weather conditions. Phenotypic plasticity may not be sufficient to allow adaptation to extreme weather for many animals. Theory predicts reduced reproductive effort as a response to increased stochasticity. we predict that patterns of natural selection will change towards truncation selection as environmental conditions become more extreme. Such changes in patterns of selection may facilitate adaptation to extreme events. However, effects of selection on reproductive effort are difficult to detect. we present a number of predictions for the effects of extreme weather conditions in need of empirical tests. Finally, we suggest a number of empirical reviews that could improve our ability to judge the effects of extreme environmental conditions on life history [Current Zoology 57 （3）： 375-389, 2011].

Human proximity often have negative consequences for wildlife. However, animals may also benefit from human proximity in terms of availability of resources and protection against predators and parasites. we recorded the distance between all birds detected during the breeding season along 18 5-kin transects and the nearest inhabited house in three areas of 50 km2 in Spain, France, and Denmark. More than three quarters of birds were located closer than 100 m to the nearest house, while the null expectation was less than a third. Mean distance for species was correlated with degree of bird urbanization and with flight initiation distance. Habitat specialist species with small breeding territories tended to live closer to houses. Birds from species having more broods per year, larger annual fecundity and lower nest predation rate lived closer to human habitation. Breeding range size, population density, and continental breeding population sizes were larger for species living closer to human habitation. Most relationships between distance to houses and bird traits had a strong phylogenetic signal, but most additive trait effects remained after phylogenetic correction. Proximity to human habitation was a main driver of the distribution of birds, with most individuals and species tightly linked to inhabited houses. Living close to human habitation was associated with success in the colonization of urban habitats and with consistent changes in distribution, abundance, behavior, and life history. Replicated measurements of the spatial and tempo- ral variation in these distributions may be useful for monitoring and analyzing the ongoing process of organisms＇ urbanization.

BACKGROUND Release of cardiac biomarkers is common after strenuous endurance exercise,but data on intermittent exercise are *** has not been investigated whether cardiac troponin elevation is influenced depending on the type of exercise that an athlete is adapted to *** hypothesized that intermittent but not continuous exercise induces cardiac troponin elevation in professional athletes adapted to high-intensity intermittent *** To examine how training specificity impacts high-sensitivity cardiac troponin T(hs-cTnT)*** Nine professional floorball players participated in the study,which comprised two different exercise tests:a continuous incremental cycle ergometer test and a Yo-Yo Intermittent Recovery 2(Yo-Yo IR2)*** assessment of hs-cTnT was performed after the cycle ergometer test and the Yo-Yo IR2 test(baseline,0,2,6,and 24 h).ReSULTS No hs-cTnT elevation above the myocardial damage cutoff(≥14 ng/L)was shown after the cycle ergometer test,whereas hs-cTnT levels rose over the cutoff in three of nine participants after the Yo-Yo IR2 *** hs-cTnT levels peaked at 6 h after both tests,but were significantly higher after the Yo-Yo IR2 test compared to the cycle ergometer test(median hs-cTnT concentration 10.6 ng/L vs 7.8 ng/L,P=0.038).All levels returned to baseline within 24 *** In professional athletes adapted to high-intensity intermittent exercise,hs-cTnT was significantly elevated after intermittent but not continuous *** principle of specificity training should be considered when designing future studies to avoid misinterpretation of hs-cTnT elevation.

This paper investigates the stabilization of underactuated vehicles moving in a three-dimensional vector *** vehicle’s model is established on the matrix Lie group Se(3),which describes the configuration of rigid bodies globally and *** focus on the kinematic model of the underactuated vehicle,which features an underactuation form that has no sway and heave *** compensate for the lack of these two velocities,we construct additional rotation matrices to generate a motion of rotation coupled with ***,the state feedback is designed with the help of the logarithmic map,and we prove that the proposed control law can exponentially stabilize the underactuated vehicle to the identity group element with an almost global domain of ***,the presented control strategy is extended to set-point stabilization in the sense that the underactuated vehicle can be stabilized to an arbitrary desired configuration specified in ***,simulation examples are provided to verify the effectiveness of the stabilization controller.
