A laser-micromilling process was developed for fabricating micro pin fins on inclined V-shaped microchannel walls for enhanced microchannel heat sinks.A pulsed nanosecond fiber laser was *** feasibility and mechanism of the formation of micro pin fins on inclined microchannel walls were investigated for a wide range of processing *** effects of the laser output power,scanning speed,and line spacing on the surface morphologies and geometric sizes of the micro-pin fins were comprehensively examined,together with the material removal *** pin fins with acute cone tips were readily formed on the V-shaped microchannel walls via the piling of recast layers and the downflow of re-solidified materials in the laser-ablation *** pin-fin height exhibited an increasing trend when the scanning speed increased from 100mm/s to 300 mm/s,and it decreased continuously when the line spacing increased from 5μm to 20μ*** optimal processing parameters for preparing micro pin fins on V-shaped microchannels were found to be a laser output power of 21 W,scanning speed of 100-300 mm/s,and line spacing of 2-5μ***,the V-shaped microchannels with micro pin fins induced a 7%-538%boiling heat-transfer enhancement over their counterpart without micro pin fins.

Inhibiting retinal neovascularization is the optimal strategy for the treatment of retina-related diseases, but there is currently no effective treatment for retinal neovascularization. P-element-induced wimpy testis(PIWI)-interacting RNA(piRNA) is a type of small non-coding RNA implicated in a variety of diseases. In this study, we found that the expression of piR-1245 and the interacting protein PIWIL2 were remarkably increased in human retinal endothelial cells cultured in a hypoxic environment, and cell apoptosis, migration, tube formation and proliferation were remarkably enhanced in these cells. Knocking down piR-1245 inhibited the above phenomena. After intervention by a p-JAK2 activator, piR-1245 decreased the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor through the JAK2/STAT3 pathway. For in vivo analysis, 7-day-old newborn mice were raised in 75 ± 2% hyperoxia for 5 days and then piR-1245 in the retina was knocked down. In these mice, the number of newly formed vessels in the retina was decreased, the expressions of inflammationrelated proteins were reduced, the number of apoptotic cells in the retina was decreased, the JAK2/STAT3 pathway was inhibited, and the expressions of hypoxia inducible factor-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor were decreased. Injection of the JAK2 inhibitor JAK2/TYK2-IN-1 into the vitreous cavity inhibited retinal neovascularization in mice and reduced expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor. These findings suggest that piR-1245 activates the JAK2/STAT3 pathway, regulates the expression of hypoxia inducible factor-1α and vascular endothelial growth factor, and promotes retinal neovascularization. Therefore, piR-1245 may be a new therapeutic target for retinal neovascularization.

By analyzing heat transfer on the wall of flat steel ribbon wound vessel (FSRWV), a numerical model of temperature distribution on the entire wall (including inner core wall, flat steel ribbons, outside cylinder of jacket and insulating layer) was established by the authors. With the model, the temperature distribution and the length change in the vessel walls and flat steel ribbons in low temperature are calculated and analyzed. The results show that the flat steel ribbon wound cryogenic high-pressure vessel is simpler in structure, safer and easier to manufacture than those of conventional ones.

The Jiama porphyry copper deposit in Tibet is one of the proven supergiant copper deposits in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau at present,with the reserves of geological resources equivalent to nearly 20×10^(6) ***,it features wavy and steep terrain,leading to extremely difficult field operation and heavy *** study attempts to determine the effects of the tensor controlled-source audiomagnetotellurics(CSAMT)with high-power orthogonal signal sources(also referred to as the high-power tensor CSAMT)when it is applied to the deep geophysical exploration in plateaus with complex terrain and mining areas with strong *** test results show that the high current provided by the highpower tensor CSAMT not only greatly improved the signal-to-noise ratio but also guaranteed that effective signals were received in the case of a long transmitter-receiver ***,the tensor data better described the anisotropy of deep geologic *** addition,the tests also show that when the transmitting current reaches 60 A,it is still guaranteed that strong enough signals can be received in the case of the transmitter-receiver distance of about 25 km,sounding curves show no near field effect,and effective exploration depth can reach 3 *** 2D inversion results are roughly consistent with drilling results,indicating that the high-power tensor CSAMT can be used to achieve nearly actual characteristics of underground electrical ***,this method has great potential for application in deep geophysical exploration in plateaus and mining areas with complex terrain and strong interference,*** study not only serves as important guidance on the prospecting in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau but also can be used as positive references for deep mineral exploration in other areas.

We theoretically investigate the Higgs oscillation in a one-dimensional Raman-type spin–orbit-coupled Fermi superfluid with the time-dependent Bogoliubov–de Gennes *** linearly ramping or abruptly changing the effective Zeeman field in both the Bardeen–Cooper–Schrieffer state and the topological superfluid state,we find the amplitude of the order parameter exhibits an oscillating behaviour over time with two different frequencies(i.e.,two Higgs oscillations)in contrast to the single one in a conventional Fermi *** observed period of oscillations has a great agreement with the one calculated using the previous prediction[Volkov and Kogan,***.38,1018(1974)],where the oscillating periods are now determined by the minimums of two quasi-particle spectrum in this *** further verify the existence of two Higgs oscillations using a periodic ramp strategy with theoretically calculated driving *** predictions would be useful for further theoretical and experimental studies of these Higgs oscillations in spin–orbit-coupled systems.

AIM： To investigate the effects of the phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase（PI3 K） inhibitor LY294002 on retinal neovascularization（RNV） in the oxygen-induced retinopathy（OIR） mouse model and human umbilical vein endothelial cells（HUVECs）.METHODS： C57 BL/6 J mice were randomly divided into normoxia-control, OIR-control and LY294002 treatment groups. LY294002 or phosphate-buffered solution was intraperitoneally injected daily into mouse pups from P6 to P9 in LY294002 treatment group or OIR-control group. Morphological and pathological changes in RNV, as well as expression levels of PI3 K, serine-threonine kinase（AKT） and vascular endothelial growth factor（VEGF） were observed. HUVECs treating with LY294002 were exposed to hypoxia; the expression of PI3 K, AKT and VEGF were examined by Western blot and RT-PCR ***： Compared with the OIR-control group, LY294002 significantly inhibit RNV. Adenosine diphosphatase（ADPase） staining and hematoxylin and eosin staining indicated that the clock hour scores of neovascularization and the nuclei of pre-retinal neovascular cells in the LY294002 treatment group were clearly less than those in the OIR-control group（1.41±0.52 vs 6.20±1.21; 10.50±1.58 vs 22.25±1.82, both P〈0.05）. Intravitreal injection of LY294002（in the LY294002 treatment group） markedly decreased PI3 K/AKT-VEGF expression compared with the OIR-control group by immunohistochemistry, Western blotting and RT-PCR（all P〈0.05）. In HUVECs treated with hypoxia, expression of PI3 K, AKT and VEGF were downregulated in the hypoxia-LY294002 group（all P〈0.05）.CONCLUSION： The PI3 K inhibitor LY294002 can inhibit RNV by downregulating PI3 K, AKT, and VEGF expression in vivo and in vitro. LY294002 may provide an effective method for preventing retinopathy of prematurity（ROP）.
