An Optimized CNN Model Architecture for Detecting Coronavirus (COVID-19) with X-Ray Images

This paper demonstrates empirical research on using convolutional neural networks(CNN)of deep learning techniques to classify X-rays of COVID-19 patients versus normal patients by feature *** extraction is one of the most significant phases for classifying medical X-rays radiography that requires inclusive domain *** this study,CNN architectures such as VGG-16,VGG-19,RestNet50,RestNet18 are compared,and an optimized model for feature extraction in X-ray images from various domains invol-ving several classes is *** X-ray radiography classifier with TensorFlow GPU is created executing CNN architectures and our proposed optimized model for classifying COVID-19(Negative or Positive).Then,2,134 X-rays of normal patients and COVID-19 patients generated by an existing open-source online dataset were labeled to train the optimized *** those,the optimized model architecture classifier technique achieves higher accuracy(0.97)than four other models,specifically VGG-16,VGG-19,RestNet18,and RestNet50(0.96,0.72,0.91,and 0.93,respectively).Therefore,this study will enable radiol-ogists to more efficiently and effectively classify a patient’s coronavirus disease.

The Sultanate of Oman has been dealing with a severe renewable energy issue for the past few decades,and the government has struggled to find a *** addition,Oman’s strategy for converting power generation to sources of renewable energy includes a goal of 60 percent of national energy demands being met by renewables by 2040,including solar and wind ***,the use of small-scale energy from wind devices has been on the rise in recent *** upward trend is attributed to advancements in wind turbine technology,which have lowered the cost of energy from *** calculate the internal and external factors that affect the small-scale energy of wind technologies,the study used a fuzzy analytical hierarchy process technique for order of preference by similarity to an ideal *** a result,in the decision model,four criteria,seventeen sub-criteria,and three resources of renewable energy were calculated as options from the viewpoint of the Sultanate of *** research is based on an examination of statistics on energy produced by wind turbines at various locations in the Sultanate of ***,six distinct miniature wind turbines were investigated for four different *** outcomes of this study indicate that the tiny wind turbine has a lot of potential in the Sultanate of Oman for applications such as homes,schools,college campuses,irrigation,greenhouses,communities,and small *** government should also use renewable energy resources to help with the renewable energy issue and make sure that the country has enough renewable energy for its long-term growth.

This study investigated the impact of traffic violations on crash injury severity on Wyoming’s interstate highways.A random parameters multinomial logit(MNL)model with heterogeneity in means was estimated as an alternative to the mixed logit *** was done to better account for unobserved heterogeneity in the crash *** per the results,the random parameters model with heterogeneity in means not only exhibited a better fit but also uncovered more insights regarding the factors influencing crash injury *** advanced model showed that traffic violations,crash characteristics and environmental characteristics among other factors impact crash injury severity on Wyoming’s interstate *** regards to traffic violations,driving too fast for prevailing conditions and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs were identified as the main violations that significantly influenced crash *** other useful insights,the heterogeneity in mean specification indicated that the likelihood of severe injury crashes is increased by the interactive effect between non-trucks(vehicles not classified as trucks)and driving too fast for *** is a significant implication that high speed behavior by non-truck drivers in adverse weather conditions is ranked as one of the hazardous traffic violations on Wyoming’s *** study provided for the first time important information on the impact of traffic violations on crash severity of crashes that occurred on challenging roadways that characterized by mountainous terrain and severe weather *** from the study will help enforcement agencies in the state to better identify appropriate countermeasures to mitigate the impact of violations on crash severity.

Reinforced concrete(RC)structures are generally designed to carry quasi-static gravity loads through almost indispensable components namely slab,however,it may be subjected to high intense loads induced from the impact of projectiles generated by the tornado,falling construction equipment,and also from accidental explosions during their construction and service *** due to rock/boulder falls do occur on the structures located especially in hilly *** loadings are not predictable but may cause severe damage to the slab/*** stimulates structural engineers and researchers to investigate and understand the dynamic response of RC structures under such impulsive *** research work first investigates the performance of 1000×1000×75 mm^(3)conventionally reinforced two-way spanning normal strength concrete slab with only tension reinforcement(0.88%)under the concentric impact load(1035 N)using the finite element method based computer code,ABAQUS/*** impact load is delivered to the centroid of the slab using a solid-steel cylindroconical impactor(drop weight)with a flat nose of diameter 40 mm,having a total mass of 105 kg released from a fixed height of 2500 *** popular concrete constitutive models in ABAQUS namely;Holmquist-Johnson-Cook(HJC)and Concrete Damage Plasticity(CDP),with strain rate effects as per fib MODEL CODE 2010,are used to model the concrete material behavior to impact loading and to simulate the damage to the *** slab response using these two models is analyzed and compared with the impact test *** strain rate effect on the reinforcing steel bars has been incorporated in the analysis using the Malvar and Crawford(1998)approach.A classical elastoplastic kinematic idealization is considered to model the steel impactor and support *** reveal that the HJC model gives a little overestimation of peak displacement,maximum acceleration,and damage of the slab while the predictions given by

In this work,we numerically study the impact of a water droplet onto a deep oil *** fluids are immiscible and the viscosity of the pool liquid is changed *** focus on the cavity dynamics during the impact and especially the effects of the pool liquid viscosity and the impacting *** the parameter range explored,we identify the regime where splashing occurs with corolla breaking into droplets,and the regime where no splashing is *** is found for the time evolution of cavity depth for fixed impact velocity and different viscosity,if the cavity depth and time are nondimensionalized by the maximal depth and the time when the maximal depth is *** power-law scalings are also proposed to describe the dependence of the maximal cavity depth and the corresponding time on the impact velocity and pool liquid viscosity,in the term of Froude and Reynolds numbers.

In this study the effects of the actuation waveforms on the droplet generation in a drop-on-demand inkjet printing are studied systematically by numerical *** different types of waveforms,namely the unipolar and bipolar actuations,are investigated for three fluids with different physical *** focus on two key parameters,which are the dwell time and the velocity *** the unipolar driving,the ejection velocity and the ejected liquid volume are both increased as the velocity amplitude becomes *** dwell time only has minor effects on both the ejection velocity and the ejected liquid *** ejection velocity decreases significantly for large liquid viscosity,while the influences of viscosity on the ejected liquid volume are much *** different droplet morphologies and the corresponding parameter ranges are *** droplet radius can be successfully reduced to about 40%e of the nozzle exit *** the bipolar waveforms,same droplet morphologies are observed but with shifted boundaries in the phase *** minimal radius of stable droplet produced by the bipolar waveforms is even smaller compared to the unipolar ones.
