Recent industrial explosions globally have intensified the focus in m.chanical engineering on designing infras-tructure system. and networks capable of withstanding blast *** centered on high-profile facilities such as em.assies and petrochem.cal plants,this concern now extends to a wider array of infrastructures and *** and scholars increasingly prioritize structural safety against explosions,particularly to prevent disproportionate collapse and dam.ge to nearby *** has further am.lified the reliance on oil and gas pipelines,m.king them.vital for urban life and prim. targets for terrorist ***,there is a growing im.erative for com.utational engineering solutions to tackle blast loading on pipelines and m.tigate associated risks to avert *** this study,an em.ty pipe m.del was successfully validated under contact blast conditions using Abaqus software,a powerful tool in m.chanical engineering for sim.lating blast effects on buried *** a Eulerian-Lagrangian com.utational fluid dynam.cs approach,the investigation extended to above-surface and below-surface blasts at standoff distances of 25 and 50 *** descriptions in the num.rical m.del relied on Abaqus’default m.chanical *** analysis revealed varying pipe perform.nce,with deform.tion decreasing as explosion-to-pipe distance *** explosion’s location relative to the pipe surface notably influenced deform.tion levels,a key finding highlighted in the ***,quantitative findings indicated varying ratios of plastic dissipation energy(PDE)for different blast scenarios com.ared to the contact blast(P0).Specifically,P1(25 m. subsurface blast)and P2(50 m. subsurface blast)showed approxim.tely 24.07%and 14.77%of P0’s PDE,respectively,while P3(25 m. above-surface blast)and P4(50 m. above-surface blast)exhibited lower PDE values,accounting for about 18.08%and 9.67%of P0’s PDE,***

The ethanol, chloroform.and acetone extracts of five species from.Acacia (Acacia albidia stem., Acacia m.llifera aerial parts, Acacia nubica aerial parts, Acacia seyal var. seyal stem. and Acacia tortilis aerial parts) were investigated for their antim.crobial activity against two standard bacterial strains of Gram.+ve bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923)), Gram.-ve bacteria (Pseudom.nas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853)) and standard fungi Candida albicans (ATCC 90028) using the agar-plate well diffusion m.thod. The chloroform.extract was inactive com.ared to ethanol and acetone extracts. But ethanol extracts showed the m.xim.m.antim.crobial activity against the test organism. Am.ngst the plant species screened, ethanol extract of Acacia seyal stem. showed m.xim.m.inhibitory activity (38 m.) and (37 m.) against Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans, respectively. The ethanol, chloroform.and acetone extracts of Acacia m.llifera (aerial parts) did not show any activity against the test organism.. Cholorophorm.and acetone extracts via DPPH, the radical scavenging activities were found to be 91 ± 0.03, 88 ± 0.01 and 85 ± 0.04, respectively. The results of phytochem.cal screening showed that all extracts of studied plant contain flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids, steroids, alkaloids, phenols and tannins.

Given their num.rous functional and architectural benefits,such as im.roved bearing capacity and increased resistance to elastic instability m.des,cold-form.d steel(CFS)built-up sections have becom. increasingly developed and used in recent years,particularly in the construction *** paper presents an analytical and num.rical study of assem.led CFS two single channel-shaped colum.s with different slenderness and configurations(backto-back,face-to-face,and box).These colum.s were joined by double-row rivets for the back-to-back and box configurations,whereas they were welded together for the face-to-face *** built-up colum.s were filled with ordinary concrete of good *** elem.nt m.dels were applied,using ABAQUS software,to assess m.chanical perform.nce and study the influence of assem.ly techniques on the behavior of cold-form.d colum.s under axial *** approaches based on Eurocode 3 and Eurocode 4 recom.endations for un-filled and concrete-filled colum.s respectively were followed for the num.rical analysis,and concrete confinem.nt effects were also considered per Am.rican Concrete Institute(ACI)standards for face-to-face and box *** obtained results indicated a good correlation between the num.rical results and the proposed analytical m.thodology which did not exceed 8%.The failure m.des showed that the colum.s failed due to instabilities such as local and global buckling.

为了获取均匀的天然气掺氢混合气,确保掺氢燃气管道稳定、安全输送,采用数值模拟与试验相结合的方法研究了天然气与氢气在Sm.静态混合器中的掺混特性及影响因素,详细分析了掺混单元数量、运行工况和掺氢体积比等因素对掺混性能的影响。研究结果表明,氢气与天然气的混合主要依赖于混合单元不断改变流动状态,实现左旋和右旋相互交替,达到均匀混合。流动损失主要取决于静态混合器内流动速度,综合考虑Sm.静态混合器的压力损失和混合均匀度性能指标,采用4个掺混单元、进口气流速度10 m.s是一个优选方案。此外,增大掺氢体积比和加长流经混合器出口下游管道长度均有利于提升氢气和天然气掺混均匀度,要结合燃气管道的具体情况来确定掺氢体积比的合理范围。

Rotating polarizer, com.ensator, and analyzer ellipsom.try

In this paper we propose theoretically a set of ellipsom.tric configurations using a rotating polarizer, com.ensator, and analyzer at a speed ratio of N1ω：N2ω：N3ω. Different ellipsom.tric configurations can be obtained by giving different integral values to N1, N2, and N3. All configurations are applied to bulk c-Si and GaAs to calculate the real and im.ginary parts of the refractive index of the sam.les. The accuracies of all ellipsom.tric configurations are investigated in the presence of a hypothetical noise and with sm.ll m.salignm.nts of the optical elem.nts. m.reover, the uncertainties in the ellipsom.tric param.ters as functions of the uncertainties of the Fourier coefficients are studied. The com.arison am.ng different configurations reveals that the rotating com.ensator–analyzer configuration corresponds to the m.nim.m.error in the calculated optical param.ters.

m.crowave-assisted solvotherm.l synthesis of ZSm.22 zeolite with controllable crystal lengths

ZSm.22 （TON） zeolite crystal m.rphology was successfully controlled using a m.crowave-assisted solvotherm.l fabrication m.thod. Different co-solvents, including ethanol, 2-propanol, glycerol, and ethylene glycol, were also applied in the synthesis m.xture. The effects of various param.ters such as the aging tim., the type and am.unt of co-solvent on the ZSm.22 crystal aspect ratio were investigated. When em.loying this m.crowave irradiation synthesis, a long aging tim. was crucial to obtain sm.ller and m.re uniform.crystal sizes. The addition of co-solvent resulted in elongated ZSm.22 crystals, regard- less of the actual co-solvent used, although ZSm.22 zeolite crystallinity was sensitive to the co-solvent type. In general, the use of a co-solvent stim.lated the appearance of ZSm.5 zeolite as an im.urity and the am.unt of this im.urity was proportional to the concentration of co-solvent in the synthesis m.xture.
