Microwave-assisted reduction roasting–magnetic separation studies of two mineralogically different low-grade iron ores

The microwave-assisted reduction behaviours of two low-grade iron ores having a similar Fe content of 49wt%but distinctly different mineralogical and liberation characteristics were *** performances in terms of the iron grade and recovery as obtained from statistically designed microwave(MW)roasting followed by low-intensity magnetic separation(LIMS)experiments were *** respective optimum conditions,the titano-magnetite ore(O1)could yield an iron concentrate of 62.57%Fe grade and 60.01%Fe recovery,while the goethitic ore(O2)could be upgraded to a concentrate of 64.4%Fe grade and 33.3%Fe *** with the goethitic ore,the titanomagnetite ore responded better to MW *** characterization studies of the feed and roasted products obtained at different power and time conditions using X-ray diffraction,optical microscopy,vibrating-sample magnetometry,and electron-probe microanalysis explain the sequential reduction in the iron oxide ***,taking advantage of the MW absorbing character of the titano-magnetite ore,a blend of the same with the goethite-rich ore at a weight ratio of 60:40(O2:O1)was subjected to MW roasting that resulted in a concentrate of 61.57%Fe grade with a Fe recovery of 64.47%.

In this paper,an advanced and optimized Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LGBM)technique is proposed to identify the intrusive activities in the Internet of Things(IoT)*** followings are the major contributions:i)An optimized LGBM model has been developed for the identification of malicious IoT activities in the IoT network;ii)An efficient evolutionary optimization approach has been adopted for finding the optimal set of hyper-parameters of LGBM for the projected ***,a Genetic Algorithm(GA)with k-way tournament selection and uniform crossover operation is used for efficient exploration of hyper-parameter search space;iii)Finally,the performance of the proposed model is evaluated using state-of-the-art ensemble learning and machine learning-based model to achieve overall generalized performance and *** outcomes reveal that the proposed approach is superior to other considered methods and proves to be a robust approach to intrusion detection in an IoT environment.

Noise characteristics of a Read Avalanche diode are analyzed by incorporating the tunneling mechanism of the electron into the avalanche *** expressions are presented for the mean square noise voltage and noise measure in MITATT（mixed tunneling and avalanche transit time） mode operation.A wide band gap semiconductor（4H-SiC） based MITATT diode is considered to study the effect of tunneling on the noise characteristics and negative *** exhibiting enough potential for 4H-SiC to be used as a terahertz source of power in the MITATT mode,our results record a noise measure of 35.18 dB at a frequency of 1.5 THz.

The quantitative analysis of glutathione （GSH） is important in different fields like medicine, biology, and biotechnology. Accurate quantitative measurements of this analyte have been hampered by the lack of well characterized reference standards. The proposed procedure is intended to provide an accurate and definitive method for the quantitation of GSH for reference measurements. Measurement of the stoichiometrically existing sulfur content in purified GSH offers an approach for its quantitation and calibration through an appropriate characterized reference material （CRM） for sulfur would provide a methodology for the certification of GSH quantity, that is traceable to SI （International system of units）. The inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry （ICP-OES） approach negates the need for any sample digestion. The sulfur content of the purified GSH is quantitatively converted into sulfate ions by microwave-assisted UV digestion in the presence of hydrogen peroxide prior to ion chromatography （IC） measurements. The measurement of sulfur by ICP-OES and IC （as sulfate） using the ＂high performance＂ methodology could be useful for characterizing primary calibration standards and certified reference materials with low uncertainties. The relative expanded uncertainties （% U） expressed at 95% confidence interval for ICP-OES analyses varied from 0.1% to 0.3%, while in the case of IC, they were between 0.2% and 1.2%. The described methods are more suitable for characterizing primary calibration standards and certifying reference materials of GSH, than for routine measurements.

Dragon fruit peel contains phytochemicals and natural pigment *** crude extract was extracted from the freeze-dried dragon fruit(Hylocereus undatus)peel powder using ultrasonication and betacyanin was isolated by aqueous two-phase *** pigment betacyanin extracted from the dragon fruit peels,was encapsulated using the complex coacervation *** encapsulation,four distinct carrier agents,namely maltodextrin,gum arabic,xanthan gum,and gelatin were mixed with sodium alginate to form the wall *** betacyanin microcapsule using gum arabic as the wall material had the highest encapsulation efficiency(92.265%),followed by maltodextrin(88.365%),xanthan gum(84.655%),and gelatin(80.526%).The hygroscopicity,swelling index,and solubility of the formulated four betacyanin microcapsules were in the range of 7.581-9.462 g/100 g,120.155-153.545%,and 54.645-65.216%,*** thermal stability of four microcapsules treated at 80◦C and pH 7 was revealed to have a half-life period of 55-110 *** release behaviour of microcapsules in terms of betacyanin content in simulated gastric juice were fitted with Higuchi,Korsmeyer-Peppas,Weibull,and Peppas-Sahalin *** findings support the concept that microencapsulation enables the formulation of a stable product containing functional components.

Ore petrography of low-grade siliceous manganese ores from the Bonai-Keonjhar belt, Orissa, India: The influence of mineral-fabric on their beneficiation

Low grade siliceous manganese ores from the iron ore group of the Bonai-Keonjhar belt, Orissa, India are found mostly in shear zones. The ore characteristics of siliceous manganese ore samples from three differ- ent mines, viz. the Shankar (Barbil OMC lease hold area), the Sone-Patuli (Patmunda, OMM lease hold area), and the Musaghar (Roida, OMDC lease hold area), were studied. These siliceous manganese ores are of three types, respectively: (i) spongy-granular; (ii) massive-mosaic; and (iii) hard-mylonitized. The spongy-gran- ular type contains granular, saccharoidal quartz and the major manganese mineral present is pyrolusite. The second type contains well crystallized quartz and cryptomelane, while the third has cherty, fine grained quartz (mylonite) along with romanechite. All three ores were subjected to physical beneficiation under similar conditions. Both gravity and magnetic separation techniques were employed. The mineral-fabric of the ores has been correlated to the extent of their beneficiation using these physical techniques. Of these three ores only the spongy-granular type responded well to upgrading. The feed with 22% Mn content could be upgraded to 44% with a 28% yield and a 49% recovery. The good response to beneficiation of the spongy- granular sample could be due to the large euhedral crystals of pyrolusite and the friable nature of the sac- charoidal quartz. This study reveals the influence of mineral-fabric on beneficiation of low grade ore, siliceous Mn ore in particular.

Producer gas through gasification of biomass can be used as an alternate fuel in rural areas due to high potential of biomass resources in *** were conducted to study the performance of a diesel engine(four stroke,single cylinder,5.25 kW) with respect to its thermal efficiency,specific fuel consumption and diesel substitution by use of diesel alone and producer gas-cum-diesel(dual fuel mode).Three types of biomass,*** chips,pigeon pea stalks and corn cobs were used for generation of producer gas.A producer gas system consisting of a downdraft gasifier,a cooling cum cleaning unit,a filtering unit and a gas air mixing device was designed,fabricated and used to power a 5.25 kW diesel engine on dual fuel *** of the engine was reported by keeping biomass moisture contents as 8%,12%,16%,and 21%,engine speed as 1 600 r/min and with variable engine *** average value of thermal efficiency on dual fuel mode was found slightly lower than that of diesel *** specific diesel consumption was found to be 60%-64% less in dual fuel mode than that in diesel mode for the same amount of energy *** average diesel substitution of 74% was observed with wood chips followed by corn cobs(78%) and pigeon pea stalks(82%).Based on the performance studied,the producer gas may be used as a substitute or as supplementary fuel for diesel conservation,particularly for stationary engines in agricultural operations in the farm.

Atrial fibrillation(AF)is the most common form of cardiac arrhythmia,affecting 3 to 6 million people in the US,with an increased incidence in women and elderly,with its prevalence estimated to increase from 5.1 million in 2000 to 15.9 million in 2050 in the US population.[1]Age,hypertension,heart failure,myocardial infarction(MI),genetic factors,and associated systemic inflammatory states are well-established risk factors for the development of AF.[2–6]Lifestyle factors including alcohol consumption,smoking,obesity,sedentary lifestyle,and vigorous physical activity have also been implicated to contribute to the development of AF.[2,7–9]Studies suggest that AF drives up medical expenditure.[10]The European Society of Cardiology,based on the duration,responsiveness to treatment,and therapeutic attitude of the patient and physician,classifies AF into 4 types;when AF occurs and terminates by itself or by intervention within 7 days of onset,it is called paroxysmal AF;if sustained for more than a week,with or without intervention.

Objective:To screen and isolate an eco-friendly,u thermophilic and potent L-asparaginase producing bacterium,with novel immunological properties that may obviates hypersensitivity ***:In the present study baclerial strain isolated for extracellular L-asparaginase production from hotspring,identified by morphological,biochemical and physiological tests followed by t6S rDNA technology and the L-asparaginase production ability was tested by both semi quantitative and quantitative enzymatic ***:The bacterial strain was identified as Bacillus sublilis strain hswx88(GenBank Accession Number JQ237656.1).The extracellular enzyme yielding capacity isolate Bacillus subtilis strain hswx88(23.8 IU/mL)was found to be 1.7 and 14.5 limes higher than the reference organism Pectobacterium carotovorum MTCC 1428(14.2 IU/mL)and Bacillus *** 034(1.64 IU/mL).Conclusion:The isolate is eco-friendly and useful to produce bulk quantity of extracellular,thermophilic L-asparaginase for the treatment of various tumor cases and for preparation of acrylamide free fry food preparation.
