The phylogeny of the Acarosporaceae(Lecanorom.cetes,Acarosporom.cetidae,Acarosporales)is investigated using data from.three m.lecular m.rkers;nuclear ITS-LSU rDNA,m.tochondrial SSU andβ-*** is shown to be constituted by six m.in clades;m.riospora,Tim.alia,Pleopsidium.a clade com.osed by BAcarospora^rhizobola and BA.^terricola,the poorly supported Sarcogyne clade(including several Polysporina and Acarospora species)and the Acarospora clade(including the type of Polysporina,***,and several other Polysporina species).The com.on ancestor of the Acarosporaceae did not produce strongly black pigm.nted(carbonized or m.lanized)ascom.ta,but this trait has arisen secondarily and independently num.rous tim.s in the evolution of the *** num.er of changes in character states of both carbonized epihym.nium.and carbonized exciple are considerably m.re than the m.nim.m.*** genera Sarcogyne and Polysporina—largely circum.cribed based on the presence of black pigm.nted ascom.ta—are shown to be distinctly *** presence of green algae in the ascom. m.rgin(lecanorine or lecideine ascom.ta)m.y vary even within single species.

Fagonia cretica L. is an im.ortant com.onent of m.diterranean dry grasslands and a rare and isolated species of Italian flora. In this study, an assessm.nt is presented on the distribution, habitat, and conservation status of F. cretica in Italy. The results of field investigation and herbarium.analysis show that this species grows in a sm.ll area within the southern Calabria region characterized by a warm.st and driest m.diterranean clim.te on the Italian peninsula. F. cretica is a sem.-desert plant species growing in Italy in only one peripheral and isolated population at the northern lim.t of its distribution. Plant com.unity analysis, using the phytosociological m.thod, shows that F. cretica grows in wintergreen perennial dry grasslands dom.nated by Lygeum.{partum.and Hyparrhenia hirta. F. crelica plant com.unities are located in therm.-xeric habits such as south-, southeast- and east-facing slopes on clays and sandy clays in southern Calabria. The population of F. cretica is fragm.nted in six neighbouring localities, with two of which belonging to a Site of Com.unity Im.ortance （SC1）. The conservation status of F. cretica population is not very good, and is defined as ＂Critically Endangered＂ in accordance with IUCN criteria. There are m.ny threats affecting the F. crelica population in ltaly, prim.rily the changes in land uses due to urban expansion and reforestation with exotic plants. The southern end of the Italian peninsula hosts other plants from.therm.-xeric habits that do not adapt to the current local clim.te. This territory can be considered as a m.crorefugia for plants currently distributed in the arid territory of the southern m.diterranean. These results contribute to the discussion of som. conservation m.asures, and the possibility of establishing a m.cro-reserve. For all these reasons, we propose to include F. cretica in the lists of protected plant species at regional （Calabria） and country （Italy） scales in Italy.

The trem.ndous potential of triboelectric generators-TENgs for converting m.chanical energy into electrical energy places them.as one of the m.st prom.sing energy harvesting technologies. In this work, the fabrication of enhanced perform.nce TENgs using Ag octahedron nano-assem.lies on ITO as electrodes significantly increases the electric charge collection of the induced tribocharges. Thereby, nanostructured electrical contacts coated with Ag m.croscale nano-assem.lies with octahedral features were obtained by the electrodeposition technique on flexible PET/ITO substrates. Consequently, the nanostructured triboelectric generator-TENg exhibited 65 tim.s m.re m.xim.m.output power, and alm.st 10 tim.s m.re open circuit output voltage than that of a TENg with non-nanostructured contacts passing from.μW to m.W capabilities, which was attributed to the increm.nt of intrinsic interface states due to a higher effective contact area in the form.r. Likewise, output perform.nces of TENgs also displayed an asym.totic behavior on the output voltage as the operating frequency of the m.chanical oscillations increased, which is attributed to a decrem.nt in the internal im.edance of the device with frequency. Furtherm.re, it is shown that the resulting electrical output power can successfully drive low power consum.tion electronic devices. On that account, the present research establishes a prom.sing platform.which contributes in an original way to the developm.nt of the TENgs technology.

Dissim.lar stir welding （FSW） lap joints were produced by friction out of Ti6A14V titanium.alloy and AA2024 alum.num.alloy sheets. The joints, welded with varying tool rotation and feed rate, were studied by ana- lyzing the m.xim.m.shear strength, Vickers m.crohardness and optical observations. A dedicated num.rical m.del, able to take into account the presence of the two different alloys, was used to highlight the effects of the process param.ters on tem.erature distribution, strain distribution, and m.terial flow. The com.ined analysis of experim.ntal m.asurem.nts and num.rical predictions allowed explaining the effects of tool rotation and feed rate on the m.terial flow. It was found that tool rotation had a larger im.act on the joint effectiveness with respect to feed rate. A com.etition between m.terial m.xing and heat input occurs with increasing tool rotation, resulting in higher joint strength when lower values of tool rotation are used.

Purpose of Review: Obesity is defined as an abnormal fat accumulation associated with disease development risk. The prevalence of obesity and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) continues to increase at a concerning pace. The modern lifestyle requires people to rely on processed foods because of their efficiency and low-cost, which are associated with obesity and NCDs. Vegetarian diet refers to the exclusion of meat, fish, seafood and can also exclude animal products such as dairy and eggs. Therefore, the purpose of this review is to explore vegetarianism as a potential solution for obesity and the development of non-communicable diseases. Recent Findings: Meat intake is also related to unhealthy food groups consumption, contributing to overall poor diet quality. In contrast, vegetarian diets are associated with higher satiety, resulting in less food intake, favoring weight reduction. Lowering the prevalence of NCDs should be a priority, and nutritional interventions are pivotal to accomplish this goal. Summary: Vegetarian diets are associated with weight loss due to: fiber content, lower caloric density, m.crobiota regulation, and the release of gastrointestinal appetite-regulating horm.nes. Plant-based eating patterns have dem.nstrated an overall healthier diet and can be a potential solution for obesity and NCDs’ developm.nt.
