The ef.ects of.f.rtilization on crambe are poorly understood;in this sense, this study aimed to evaluate the crambe growth under dif.erent levels of.nitrogen (0, 40, 80, 120 kg·ha-1), phosphorus (0, 50, 100, 150 kg·ha-1), and potassium (0, 30, 60, 90 kg·ha-1) in a greenhouse. The height of.the plants, the production of.dried biomass and that of.1000 grains of.crambe were evaluated. The height of.the plants was impaired as a f.nction of.increasing doses of.nitrogen. The interaction of.nitrogen and phosphorus in the crambe crop increased the number of.grains and dry shoot biomass. The growth and yield of.the crop were not inf.uenced by the use of.potassium in mineral f.rtilization.

Salinity in soil or water in arid and semi arid regions can severely limit crop production, since the high amount of.naCl contributes to specif.c ion ef.ects of.Cl-, na+ or both, and to antagonistic ef.ects on nutrient elements. Af.ected by salt stress, most of.the cultivated plants do not f.lly express their growth potential, which lowers their economic value. Crambe (Crambe abyssinica) is an oil plant of.the crucif.rous f.mily and it is believed that crambe has great potential to f.gure as raw material f.r biof.el;however, literature is not abundant about the ef.ects of.salinity in crambe production. This work was carried out in order to evaluate the ef.ects on the development and productivity of.crambe irrigated with saline waters under greenhouse conditions. Treatments resulted f.om the combination of.two f.ctors: salinity of.irrigation water (ECw) in f.ve levels (1.03-control, 2.5, 4.0, 5.5, and 7.0 dS·m-1) and two types of.salts (naCl and naCl + CaCl2) with three replications, totaling 30 experimental plots. At the end of.the experimental period, soil samples f.om each plot were collected f.r chemical and salinity of.soil saturation extract analyzes. Salt types did not af.ect plant parameters. However, the salinity levels presented signif.cant ef.ects on the all plant parameters, decreasing their values with the increase of.the salt dose. Salinity levels of.the solutions used f.r irrigation in this study af.ected the growth of.plants and grain yield of.crambe. Regarding the type of.salts, a higher concentration of.na was observed f.r naCl solutions at 2.5, 4.0 and 5.5 dS·m-1 salinity levels.

We conducted a systematic review of.the literature to determine the inf.uence of.dif.erent hysterectomy techniques in the sexual behavior of.women who underwent. We searched CENTRAL (The Cochrane Library), PubMed, SCOPUS, CInaHL and LILACS f.r studies between the years 1998 and 2010 that prospectively examined the sexuality af.er hysterectomy. Those that were not randomized controlled clinical trials were excluded. It was not available electronically, it was not related with the outcomes determined, it was not research, but publications bef.re 1998 and study which women realized chemotherapy and radiotherapy. f.om the 455 identif.ed studies, 9 met inclusion criteria. There was variability in how hysterectomies inf.uence in the sexual behavior. Most of.studies considered women who underwent vaginal hysterectomy had f.wer changes in sexual behavior. Sexual desire, intercourse f.equency and orgasm are the sexual aspects reported by women as more changes experimented af.er surgery. f.ndings f.om this study have implications f.r healthcare providers and policymakers. Each woman needs an individualized care plan that f.ts within the context of.her lif., and there are basic interventions that every woman who underwent hysterectomy should receive. This review draws attention to the need f.r dif.erent care plans f.r women who underwent dif.erent hysterectomy techniques.

Background:Leishmaniasis causes alterations and lesions in the genital system,which leads to azoospermia and testicular atrophy in animals during the chronic phase of.the *** aim of.this study was to reveal the kinetics of.Leishmania chagasi inf.ction in the genital system of.male golden hamsters(Mesocricetus auratus).Methods:Animals were intraperitoneally inoculated with amastigotes f.om *** dif.erent time points animals were euthanized and genital organs processed f.r histo-pathological,qPCR,cytokines and testosterone detection ***:Our results showed a high parasite load in testis,f.llowed by an increase of.pro-inf.ammatory cytokines IL1-β,TNf.αand If.-γ,and ***,IL-4 expression was upregulated and basal parasite persistence in testis was observed using the experimental ***:Extracellular amastigotes migrated to the epididymis posing as a potential major f.ctor of.parasite persistence and venereal transmission of.*** inf.ction in hamsters.

Niche partitioning is a widespread ecological strategy within trophic guilds,ensuring the coexistence of.sympatric species by reducing interspecif.c *** isotope analysis of.carbon and nitrogen and isotopic niche metrics(width and overlap)are used as a proxy to investigate niche partitioning among species of.a *** our study,we investigated if.niche partitioning was an ecological mechanism contributing to the coexistence of.granivorous birds f.om the same geographic region along time,employing an isotopic *** sampled and isotopically analyzed(δ^(13)C andδ^(15)N values)wing f.athers f.om 58 specimens of.granivorous birds collected between 1900 and 1966 in southeastern *** grouped birds according to the main habitat type used by them(f.rest:Cyanoloxia brissonii,Leptotila and Leptotila verreauxi;and grassland:Columbina squammata and Sicalis f.aveola).We used the Isotopic Richness(IRic)metric to measure the isotopic niche width and the Isotopic Similarity(ISim)and Isotopic Nestedness(INes)metrics to measure the niche overlap between groups and *** results of.low isotopic niche overlap suggest that common granivorous birds had a clear niche partitioning in southeastern Brazil in the late past,especially through f.raging in distinct habitat types(f.rest and grassland;ISim=0.1,INes=0.2).Niche overlaps in almost all species-by-species comparisons were low(ISim≤0.3,INes≤0.4),except between *** and ***(ISim=0.6,INes=1.0).These results suggest that these birds,belonging to the same trophic guild,coexisted through niche and resource *** being considered a plastic trophic guild,the isotopic niche partitioning among granivorous birds indicates that each of.these species uses a set of.specif.c resources and *** raises an ecological concern about the homogenization of.landscapes across the Neotropics,oversimplif.ing f.od resources and habitats to granivorous birds.

AIM To evaluate the occurrence of.resistant mutations in treatment-na?ve hepatitis C virus(HCV) sequences deposited in the European hepatitis C virus database(euH CVdb). METHODS The sequences were downloaded f.om the eu HCVdb(https://***/eu HCVdb/). The search was perf.rmed f.r f.ll-length NS3 protease, NS5 A and NS5 B polymerase sequences of.HCV, separated by genotypes 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b and 3a, and resulted in 798 NS3, 708 NS5 A and 535 NS5 B sequences f.om HCV genotypes1a, 1b, 2a, 2b and 3a, af.er the exclusion of.sequences containing errors and/or gaps or incomplete sequences, and sequences f.om patients previously treated with direct antiviral agents(DAA). The sequence alignment was perf.rmed with MEGA 6.06 MAC and the resulting protein sequences were then analyzed using the BioE dit 7.2.5. f.r mutations associated with resistance. Only positions that have been described as being associated with f.ilure in treatment in in vivo studies, and/or as conf.rring a more than 2-f.ld change in replication in comparison to the wildtype ref.rence strain in in vitro phenotypic assays were included in the *** The Q80 K variant in the NS3 gene was the most prevalent mutation, being f.und in 44.66% of.subtype 1a and 0.25% of.subtype 1b. Other f.equent mutations observed in more than 2% of.the NS3 sequences were: I170V(3.21%) in genotype 1a, and Y56f.15.93%), V132I(23.28%) and I170V(65.20%) in genotype 1b. f.r the NS5 A, 2.21% of.the genotype 1a sequences have the P58 S mutation, 5.95% of.genotype 1b sequences have the R30 Q mutation, 15.79% of.subtypes 2a sequences have the Q30 R mutation, 23.08% of.subtype 2b sequences have a L31 M mutation, and in subtype 3a sequences, 23.08% have the M31 L resistant variants. f.r the NS5 B, the V321 L RAV was identif.ed in 0.60% of.genotype 1a and in 0.32% of.genotype 1b sequences, and the N142 T variant was observed in 0.32% of.subtype 1b sequences. Management evaluation of.Panicum maximum cv. massai (Massai guineagrass) under def.rment contributes as a strategic reserve of.f.rage in the Brazilian semi-arid region. The objective of.this study was to evaluate biomass production and nutritive value of.massai guineagrass in an area of.thinned caatinga vegetation in two def.rment periods (60 and 90 days af.er plot-leveling cut) and f.ur use periods (30, 60, 90 and 120 days af.er the end of.the rain season), in a random blocks design arranged in a split-plot (2 × 4), with three replications. Extending the def.rment period of.massai guineagrass promoted elevation of.the biomass components, but compromised the pasture quality due to increasing stem biomass. The massai guineagrass def.rred 30 days af.er raining season started and should use 90 days af.er raining season ended to ensure a f.rage supply of.appropriate nutritional value. The increase in relative air humidity and the occurrence of.rainf.ll af.er water restriction stimulate regrowth, resulting in improved nutritional value of.the grass.

In this study, the removal of.zinc (Zn2+) f.om aqueous solutions was investigated using a na-enriched Brazilian gray clay. The mineral clays were characterized through EDX, XRD analysis and CEC. A f.nite bath system was used to evaluate the main ef.ects of.mechanical agitation (f.om 100 to 200 rpm), pH values in the range f.om 6.0 to 8.0 and Zn2+ initial concentrations (f.om 10 to 50 mg/L) on the removal process capacity. Langmuir and f.eundlich isotherm models were applied in order to determine the ef.iciency of.clay used as an adsorbent. According to the obtained results, Langmuir model adjusts very well to the experimental data. Based on the kinetic studies f.r the na-enriched gray clay, it was verif.ed that the mechanism corresponds to a predominant pseudo-second order adsorption, presenting a kinetic constant value equal to k = 1.13 (***/mg).

There has been a lot of.basic and clinical research on Alzheimer’s disease(AD)over the last 100 years,but its mechanisms and treatments have not been f.lly *** some controversies,the amyloid-beta hypothesis is one of.the most widely accepted causes of.*** this study,we disclose a new amyloid-beta plaque disaggregating agent and an AD brain-targeted delivery system using porous silicon nanoparticles(pSiNPs)as a therapeutic nano-platf.rm to overcome *** hypothesized that the negatively charged sulf.nic acid f.nctional group could disaggregate plaques and construct a chemical *** a result of.the in vitro assay of.amyloid plaques and library screening,we conf.rmed that 6-amino-2-naphthalenesulf.nic acid(ana)showed the highest ef.icacy f.r plaque disaggregation as a hit *** conf.rm the targeted delivery of.ana to the AD brain,a nano-platf.rm was created using porous silicon nanoparticles(pSiNPs)with ana loaded into the pore of.pSiNPs and biotin-polyethylene glycol(PEG)surf.ce *** resulting nano-f.rmulation,named Biotin-CaCl2-ana-pSiNPs(BCAP),delivered a large amount of.ana to the AD brain and ameliorated memory impairment of.the AD mouse model through the disaggregation of.amyloid plaques in the *** study presents a new bioactive small molecule f.r amyloid plaque disaggregation and its promising therapeutic nano-platf.rm f.r AD brain-targeted delivery.
