The aim of this work was to develop an active biopolymer based on chitosan by incorporating natural *** essential oils(ginger,rosemary,sage,tea tree and thyme)and six hydro-alcoholic extracts(from ginger,green and black tea,kenaf leaves,rosemary and sage plants)were *** assays were carried out to evaluate the films’activity,and total phenolic content and antioxidant activity were monitored in the simulant during *** between natural compounds and polymeric matrix was evaluated by FTIR *** diffusion of the phenolic compounds was not detected in the films incorporated with hydro-alcoholic extracts(HAEs),indicating their entrapment in the *** was observed in the films with essential oils(EOs),and biobased films incorporated with ginger,sage or rosemary essential oils,presented the highest diffusion and antioxidant activity in the simulant,highlighting their functionality and potential to be used as food active packaging material.

Background Neurodevelopmental disorders are a heterogeneous group of conditions that manifest as delays or deviations in the acquisition of expected developmental milestones and behavioral *** spectrum disorder(ASD)is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by deficits in communication and social interaction and by repetitive and restricted patterns of behavior,interests and *** aim of this review is to discuss the clinical features of the differential diagnoses of ASD that are prevalent among preschoolers,focusing on their similarities and *** sources The international medical literature search was conducted using PubMed and was revised regarding the subject using single and/or combined keywords as follows:differential diagnosis,preschoolers,diagnostic challenge,attention deficit hyperactivity disorder,intellectual disability,high abilities/giftedness,childhood apraxia of speech,social communication disorder,Landau–Kleffner syndrome,stereotyped movement disorder and excessive screen *** We describe conditions commonly found in clinical practice,taking ASD as a *** addressed converging and divergent aspects of behavior,cognition,communication,language,speech,socialization,and stereotypes for the diagnosis of ASD and other disorders identified as potential differential or comorbid *** The ranking and characterization of symptoms appear to be essential for better understanding the underlying common ground between children with developmental disorders and children with ASD,thus properly diagnosing and directing social,professional,or medication *** detailed discussion adds to the literature since,although ASD differential diagnoses are frequently mentioned and discussed in textbooks and journal articles,they rarely occupy a prominent place as we aimed herein.

I’ve read with great interest the paper of Machairas et al.(1)which is of great interest for the oncological and surgical *** adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is still considered a malignancy with an extremely poor prognosis,being currently the 4th cause of death for cancer and,according to the Global Cancer Statistics in the next decade,it may ascend up to the third cause of death(2).During the last decades,there have been great efforts to improve survival of potentially resectable pancreatic cancer through several ***,the selection of patients:newer preoperative studies have been able to select those patients that might really benefit from ***,the surgical procedure itself improved its outcome:proper mesopancreatic dissection and lymphadenectomy,superior mesenteric artery approach and vascular resection have been able to enhance the R0 resection rate with acceptable morbidity(3).Finally,newer chemotherapies regimens have been introduced,as well,with relevant survival improvement(4).

Vanadium mineralization at Los Chihuidos deposit of the Neuquén Basin is linked to the development of a redox front system related to the inflow of hydrocarbons into the red sandstone of the Huincul *** of hydrocarbons with oxidized red beds and connate water generated redox reactions where hematite was dissolved due to iron reduction resulting in the discoloration of the red *** the contact between oxidized red sandstone and reduced white sandstone,precipitation of specific mineral phases resulted in the V ore with minor amounts of *** the implementation of the redox interface,abundant V-montmorillonite and V-hematite precipitated at the more oxidizing conditions and Cu-V-corrensite-type at the more reducing conditions of the redox *** the redox front advanced with fluids constantly migrating into the reservoir,more reducing conditions were stablished,promoting chloritization and minor illitization with V-Cu incorporation and continuous upgrading of the *** ore mineralogy consists of clay minerals including V-bearing montmorillonite,Cu-V-corrensite-type,V-di-trioctahedral chlorite and Cu-tri-trioctahedral chlorite with minor V-illite-smectite mixed-layer minerals and associated secondary *** over illitization was favored due to high amounts of Fe and Mg in detrital clasts and in connate fluids and by low K availability related to low amounts of detrital *** spatial transition of V and/or Cu bearing clay minerals observed through the mineralized redox front at Los Chihuidos deposit(kaolinite→smectite→illite/smectite→corrensite-type→di-trioctahedral-chlorite→tri-trioctahedral-chlorite)and the related variation of V-Cu concentrations in bulk rock are indicative of increasing pH and decreasing Eh of resident solutions from red to white sandstones during the hypogene mineralization *** influx of Cu-rich oxidized basinal brines precipitated main copper ore with Cu-sulfides in the white sandst

Astyanax mexicanus has repeatedly colonized cave environments,displaying evolutionary parallelisms in many troglobitic *** being a model system for the study of adaptation to life in perpetual darkness,the parasites that infect cavefish are practically *** this study,we investigated the macroparasite communities in 18 cavefish populations from independent lineages and compared them with the parasite diversity found in their sister surface fish populations,with the aim of better understanding the role that parasites play in the colonization of new *** the cavefish populations,we identified 13 parasite taxa,including a subset of 10 of the 27 parasite taxa known for the surface *** infecting the cavefish belong to five taxonomic groups,including trematodes,monogeneans,nematodes,copepods,and *** are the most dominant group,found in 14 *** macroparasites include species with direct life cycles and trophic transmission,including invasive ***,paired comparisons indicate higher parasite richness in the cavefish than in the surface *** variation in parasite composition across the caves suggests historical and geographical contingencies in the host-parasite colonization process and potential evolution of local *** base-line data on parasite diversity in cavefish populations of *** provides a foundation to explore the role of divergent parasite infections under contrasting ecological pressures(cave *** environments)in the evolution of cave adaptive traits.

Background:In stage Ⅳ breast cancer,surgical resection of the primary tumor was traditionally performed solely to palliate symptoms such as bleeding,infection,or *** ongoing discussion has shown that there are many research gaps in the current literature and differences in clinical ***,this systematic review and meta-analysis was designed to evaluate how primary tumor resection(PTR)affects the overall survival(OS)of patients with stage Ⅳ breast ***:A thorough literature search was completed using different databases(PubMed,Google Scholar,Scopus,ScienceDirect,and Cochrane Library)to find papers contrasting PTR with no *** quality of research articles was evaluated using the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2.0 Tool and the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale(NOS).Review Manager 5.4 was used to determine how much demographic and clinical factors contribute to heterogeneity through subgroup and meta-regression ***:Data derived from 44 observational studies(OS)and four randomized controlled trials(RCTs)including 227,889 patients were *** all cases,150,239 patients were included in the non-PTR group,and 70,795 patients in the PTR group(37 observational studies and 4 randomized control trials).The pooled outcomes of four RCT studies(Hazard Ratio(HR)=1.03,95%CI:0.67-1.58;I2=88%;Panalysis that compared PTR with non-PTR in patients with stage IV breast cancer for progression free-survival(HR=0.89,95%CI:0.62-1.28;P=0.03;I2=71%)and locoregional progression-free survival(LPFS)(HR=0.33,95%CI:0.14-0.74;P=0.0004;I^(2)=87%)was found to be significant favoring the PTR *** progression-free survival(DPFS)had a non-significant relationship(HR=0.42,95%CI:0.29-0.60;P=0.12;I^(2)=53%),while overall,there was a significant relationship(HR=0.49,95%CI:0
