Cross-linked pectin/high amylose mixtures were evaluated as a new excipient for matrix tablets formulations,since the mixing of polymers and cross-linking reaction represent rational tools to reach materials with modulated and specific properties that meet specific therapeutic ***:In this work the influence of polymer ratio and cross-linking process on the swelling and the mechanism driving the drug release from swellable matrix tablets prepared with this excipient was ***:Cross-linked samples were characterized by their micromeritic properties(size and shape,density,angle of repose and flow rate)and liquid uptake *** tablets were evaluated according their physical properties and the drug release rates and mechanisms were also ***:Cross-linked samples demonstrated size homogeneity and irregular shape,with liquid uptake ability insensible to ***-linking process of samples allowed the control of drug release rates and the drug release mechanism was influenced by both polymer ratio and cross-linking *** drug release of samples with minor proportion of pectin was driven by an anomalous transport and the increase of the pectin proportion contributed to the erosion of the ***:The cross-linked mixtures of high amylose and pectin showed a suitable excipient for slowing the drug release rates.

Background: The protective role of (poly)phenols against metabolic disorders has been extensively studied in adults but not in ***: To assess associations of dietary (poly)phenols and their subclasses with cardiometabolic health parameters in adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 944 individuals aged 11 to 14 years enrolled in the SI! Program for Secondary Schools trial (NCT03504059). (Poly)phenol intake was assessed using semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaires and the Phenol-Explorer database. The measured cardiometabolic parameters were waist circumference (WC) age-sex z-score， blood pressure (BP) age-sex z-score， blood glucose (BG)， triglycerides (TG)， and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c). Multilevel mixed-effect linear regression models were applied to examine the association between (poly)phenol quintiles and cardiometabolic health ***: Compared to the lowest quintile， adolescents in the highest quintile of total (poly)phenol intake had lower WC z-scores (β=-0.09， 95%CI=-0.09;-0.08， P-for trend=0.002)， mean arterial pressure z-scores (β =-0.11， 95%CI=-0.12;-0.09， P-for trend=0.206)， and HDL-c (β=-1.52， 95%CI=-2.90;-0.14， P-for trend=0.108)， after multivariable adjustment. The WC z-scores (β=-0.11， 95%CI=-0.19;-0.03， P-for trend=0.013) and HDL-c (β=-2.16， 95%CI=-3.78;-0.53， P-for trend=0.046) were lower in the highest quintile of flavonoid intake compared to the lowest quintile. The suicide phenomenon involves complex interactions between psychological,biological,cultural and socio-environmental *** study aimed to assess the epidemiological and toxicological profiles of officially confirmed suicide *** study was performed using autopsy reports,forensic anthropology examinations and police summaries of all suicide cases that underwent toxicological analysis at an Official Forensic Laboratory(Minas Gerais,Brazil)in 1 *** sample set was composed of 351 suicide victims,predominantly men(70.32%),most of them were adults between 31 and 64 years old(62.11%),with mixed skin colour(48.89%)and low educational level(66.44%).The most common suicide method was hanging(57.79%),followed by intoxication(30.45%).Most victims presented positive toxicological results(56.41%),especially for the presence of medicines(37.6%),illicit drugs(36.3%)and pesticides(26.1%).Our study corroborated previous data that most suicide victims have low educational *** most common toxicological findings were medicines,especially prescription drugs,followed by illicit drugs and *** hope this study contributes to reflections and planning of preventive suicide programmes,considering the described profiles of victims.

Background:Children with congenital heart disease(CHD),even after surgical approaches,and especially those who undergo staged procedures in theﬁrst months of life,remain vulnerable to readmissions and complications,requiring very close monitoring and differentiated intervention ***:descriptive and exploratory study,of the experience report type,which presents the process of building the high-risk outpatient clinic for complex congenital heart diseases(AAR)at the Instituto do Coração(InCor).Results:Report of the path taken to structure the AAR,demonstrating the organization,interface with the multidisciplinary team,admission and discharge criteria,training,and patient proﬁ*** theseﬁve years of care,275 patients were treated,59.65%with biventricular interstage physiology,followed by univentricular interstage physiology(34.55%),residual defects after surgical procedures(3.63%),tumors with risk of mechanical obstruction(1.45%)and patients with an intrauterine approach(0.72%).The signiﬁcant number of critical patients who were successfully discharged from hospital(44.72%),the low mortality rate due to sudden deaths at home and the high adherence to follow-up cor-roborate the impact of this specialized ***:despite the limitations of the study,this experi-ence report showed that with few resources,there is the possibility of organizing an AAR with differentiated care,with the objective of early detection and treatment of residual injuries,identiﬁcation of early interventions,edu-cation of parents for follow-up of their children,resulting in individualized treatment,promoting a better quality of life for this population.

This report presents a case of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma(e RMS) located in the left maxillary sinus and invading the orbital cavity in a ten-year-old male patient who was treated at a referral *** images provided from the computed tomography showed a heterogeneous mass with soft-tissue density,occupying part of the left half of the face inside the maxillary sinus,and infiltrating and destroying the bone structure of the maxillary sinus,left orbit,ethmoidal cells,nasal cavity,and sphenoid *** analysis of the histological sections revealed an undifferentiated malignant neoplasm infiltrating the skeletal muscle *** immunohistochemical analysis was positive for the antigens:MyoD 1,myogenin,desmin,and Ki67(100% positivity in neoplastic cells),allowing the identification of the tumour as an eR *** treatment protocol included initial chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy and finally *** total time of the treatment was nine months,and in 18-mo of follow-up period did not show no local recurrences and a lack of visual impairment.
