Goss texture or （110）[100] crystallographic orientation of the grains is typical grain structure of grain oriented silicon steel used for transformer. This type of texture is one of the most important parameters determining the magnetic properties of the laminated steel plates. The furination and growth of Goss texture in three steel samples are investigated. Two of them are prepared under laboratory conditions and one under industrial conditions. The em- phasis is put on the effects of hot lamination temperature and time, primary and secondary recrystallization temperatures during cold lamination on developing of the Goss texture in correlation with other texture components. Also in all steel processing stages, the influence of the chemical composition on the occurrence of Goss texture is examined.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the most common neurodegenerative disease affecting motor neurons, lacks an effective treatment. A small fraction of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis cases have a familial origin, related to mutations in causative genes, while the vast majority of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis cases are considered to be sporadic, resulting from the interaction between genes and environmental factors in predisposed individuals. During the past few years, dozens of drugs have been postulated as promising strategies for the disease after showing some beneficial effects in preclinical cellular and murine models. However, the translation into clinical practice has been largely unsuccessful and the compounds failed when were tested in clinical trials. This might be explained, at least partially, by the enormous complexity of the disease both from clinico-epidemiological and a pathogenic points of view. In this review, we will briefly comment on the complexity of the disease focusing on some recent findings, and we will suggest how amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research might be reoriented to foster the advance in the diagnostic and therapeutic questions.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of a hydrogymnastics training program on highsensitivity C-reactive protein in elderly women. The subjects were randomly divided into the experimental group who participates in the hydrogymnastics training program and the control group who was not involved in the training and remained sedentary. The serum levels of highsensitivity C-reactive protein were determined by immunoturbidimetry using C-reactive protein (CRP), the training protocol consisted of hydrogymnastics sessions 5 times per week during 12 weeks of intervention, executed in a pool of 1.3 meters divided into three phases: a 10-minute warm-up, 30 minutes of aerobic exercise at 50%-60% of maximum heart rate (monitored by heart rate monitor) and a 10-minute cool down. As a statistical method to compare the results between groups of variables pre and post training, the analysis of variance (AnOVA) mixed 2 × 2 (group × measurement) test was done using SPSS version 17. The founds showed significant changes in the level of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein, and a greater percentage decrease of hs-CRP (Δ%= -37%, p = 0.001) in the experimental group in relation to the control ***, it can be inferred that a hydrogymnastics program is effective in reducing the metabolic rate of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein amongst elderly women.

This study provides new insights on the phylogenetic position of the lichenicolous fungal genus Abrothallus based on six molecular markers(nuSSU,nuLSU,mtSSU,RPB1,RPB2 and TEF-α).In a broad-scale analysis,we detected high support for inclusion of the genus within Dothideomycetes.A further analysis provided support for Abrothallus as a member of the subclass Pleosporomycetidae as a sister group of Jahnulales,an order of aquatic *** the exclusive characters of this group of apotheciate fungi within the Dothidiomycetes,a new monotypic order Abrothallales is here introduced together with the new family *** a multi-locus analysis(based on the six loci indicated above plus ITS)restricted to 12 putative Abrothallus species,two clearly separated clades were observed:one comprising species growing on lichens of the families Parmeliaceae and Ramalinaceae,and the second including species that live on lichens of the order Peltigerales and the family Cladoniaceae.

A growing number of natural hazard-triggered technological accidents(natech)has been reported by several researchers,and this trend is expected to continue due to climate *** a result,some governments have initiated direct efforts to manage natech risks,particularly in the United States and ***,two surveys conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development(OECD)in 2009 and 2017 found that there was a lack of proper risk management and risk governance for natech among OECD member states,including Japan and South *** study aimed to identify relevant regulations and practical considerations for chemical and natech risk management from government perspectives in Japan and South *** article provides a review of the current state of risk management,emergency response,and risk communication on chemical and natech risk management in the two countries,and concludes with a discussion of some of the issues that require improvement of the current chemical risk *** practices for chemical risk management in Japan and South Korea point to the possibility of improvements in dealing with the natech *** practical lessons will be valuable for improving the capacity for dealing with challenges in chemical and natech risk management.

AIM: To analyze the attitude of Spanish medical students toward living liver donation (LLD) and to establish which factors have an influence on this ***: Study type: A sociological, interdisciplinary, multicenter and observational study. Study population: Medical students enrolled in Spain (n = 34000) in the university academic year 2010-2011. Sample size: A sample of 9598 students stratified by geographical area and academic year. Instrument used to measure attitude: A validated questionnaire (PCID-DVH RIOS) was self-administered and completed anonymously. Data collection procedure: Randomly selected medical schools. The questionnaire was applied to each academic year at compulsory sessions. Statistical analysis: Student´s t test, χ2 test and logistic regression ***: The completion rate was 95.7% (n = 9275). 89% (n = 8258) were in favor of related LLD, and 32% (n = 2937) supported unrelated LLD. The following variables were associated with having a more favorable attitude: (1) age (P = 0.008); (2) sex (P believing in the possibility of needing a transplant oneself in the future (P nation (P ng kidney donation (P nce of a donated liver segment from a family member if one were needed (P ng discussed the subject with one’s family (P nd friends (P ner’s opinion about the subject (P ng out activities of an altruistic nature; and (12) fear of the possible mutilation of the body after donation (P nCLUSIOn: Spanish medical students have a favorable attitude toward LLD.

This work continued our general research program on obtaining metallic cerium by electrodeposition from naCeF4 dis-solved in different molten fluorides. The structure of naCeF4 （cubic or hexagonal depending on the way of preparation） was estab-lished by DTA analysis, IR spectra and X-ray diffraction. The heat capacity （Cp） of naCeF4 was measured by differential scanning calorimetry in the temperature range of 300-1093 K using the“step-method”. The Cp was fitted by an equation with a satisfactory re-sult. Heat capacity was compared with that calculated from the neumann-Kopp rule （nKR） and the deviations observed were consis-tent with the stability of the naCeF4 compound.
