For the past two decades,conversion and alloying-type materials have been heralded as the natural heir to commercially available graphite anodes due to their ability to deliver high gravimetric/volumetric *** of batteries with these high-energy-density active materials could impact a variety of sectors including electric vehicles,grid storage,and consumer electronics and contribute toward an ever-increasing electrified ***,the various failure mechanisms from inherent interfacial chemical instabilities associated with these materials make them unable to be merely substituted into currently available electrode fabrication and formulation processing *** a result,realizing the high theoretical capacity and achieving commercial viability of these materials will rely on the careful manipulation of interfacial chemical interactions that dictate and control various kinetic and transport processes across multiple scales of the composite *** has led to a plethora of research that has focused on systematically understanding properties of the different electrode components and designing carefully constructed electrode formulations to achieve composite electrodes with increased chemical stability,enhanced local mixed conductivities,or improved mechanical *** Account relates recent progress in the understanding of synergetic opportunities for energy-dense,resilient composite *** understanding the interplay between components of the composite electrode,we can construct enhanced well-integrated electrodes with performance metrics that surpass empirically derived *** to the increased complexity of high-volume-expanding electrodes,performance is more than the cumulative contributions of the individual components,and therefore energy and compatibility matching are important for robust electrochemical performance across cycling,rate capability,facile lithium-ion transport,and *** this Account,sy

Identification of epitopes targeted following virus infection or vaccination can guide vaccine design and development of therapeutic interventions targeting functional sites,but can be ***,we employed peptide microarrays to map linear peptide epitopes(LPes)recognized following SARS-CoV-2 infetion and *** detected by nonhuman primate(NHP)and patient IgMs after SARS-CoV-2 infection extensively overlapped,localized to functionally important virus regions,and aligned with reported neutralizing antibody binding *** LPe overlap occurred atfter infection and vaccination,with LPe clusters specifc to each stimulus,where strong and conserved LPes mapping to sites known or likely to inhibit spike protein ***-specifc LPes tended to map to sites known or likely to be afected by structural changes induced by the proline substitutions in the mRNA vaccine's S *** LPes to regions of known functional importance in this manner may acelerate vaccine evaluation and discovery of targets for sile secific therapeutic interventions.

观察硫胺素与甘草酸二铵治疗慢性乙型肝炎的临床疗效。在美国加州及大连分别对慢性乙型肝炎患者应用硫胺素和甘草酸二铵。甘草酸二铵组与甘草酸二铵 +硫胺素组肝功复常率两组间有显著差异 ;硫铵素组与上述两组比较肝功复常率明显降低 ,差异显著。硫铵素组连续用药 4 8周后 ,肝功复常率、血清HBVDNA、HBeAg阴转率与治疗第八周结束时各治疗组比较有显著差异。硫铵素可降低乙肝病毒含量 ,稳定肝脏内环境。

Background:Proctocolectomy with ileal pouch–anal anastomosis(IPAA)is the surgical procedure of choice for medically refractory ulcerative colitis and familial adenomatous *** rare,a pouch volvulus can *** aimed to determine the frequency,presentation,and management approach of pouch volvulus in patients with ***:A systematic search of published literature was performed by a medical reference librarian on 10 August 2018 and two independent reviewers identified relevant publications,extracted data,and assessed the methodological quality based on a validated tool.A retrospective review of the Mayo Clinic electronic medical records identified one case of pouch volvulus between January 2008 and August ***:The frequency of pouch volvulus from one large published study reporting long-termoutcomes of IPAA was 0.18%(3/1,700).A total of 22 patients(18 ulcerative colitis)were included(median age 32 years,73%females).Median time to volvulus after IPAA was 36 months while median interval to volvulus diagnosis from symptom onset was 24 *** pain was the most commonly reported symptom(76%).The diagnosis was made primarily by abdominal computed tomography(13/17 patients,76%).endoscopic treatment was successful in 1 of 11 patients(9%).Surgery was performed in 20 patients and pouch-pexy and pouch excision were the most frequent surgical operations.A redo IPAA was performed in five patients(25%).Conclusion:Pouch volvulus is a rare but serious complication of IPAA and should be suspected even in the absence of obstruction *** treatment often fails and surgery is effective when performed early.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic,multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants have *** some variants spread only locally,others,referred to as variants of concern,disseminated globally and became drivers of the *** SARS-CoV-2 variants harbor mutations relative to the virus circulating early in the pandemic,and mutations in the viral spike(S)protein are considered of particular relevance since the S protein mediates host cell entry and constitutes the key target of the neutralizing antibody *** a consequence,mutations in the S protein may increase SARS-CoV-2 infectivity and enable its evasion of neutralizing ***,mutations in the S protein can modulate viral transmissibility and pathogenicity.

Survey of the management of borderline ovarian tumors in the United Kingdom

Borderline ovarian tumors （BOTs） represent approxi-mately 10% of ovarian neoplasms and are a heteroge-neous group of tumors with variable biological behav-iour. The majority present with disease confned to the ovary and have an excellent prognosis after surgical removal. A small proportion subsequently has recur-rent disease or progression to invasive cancer. Tumor recurrence can occur up to 20 years after surgical resection. There are no robust clinical, histological or molecular markers that distinguish high risk cases and no satisfactory treatment for patients with progressive disease. This results in great variability in management in different centres. We conducted a national survey on the management of borderline ovarian tumors in cancer centres representing different regions in the United Kingdom. In this article we review the literature for the current concepts in diagnosis, treatment and follow up of BOTs and we report the results of the survey of current practice in the United Kingdom. On that basis we provide recommendations for the management of patients with BOTs.

For any given genotype,the environment in which an apple is grown can influence the properties of the fruit *** there has been extensive research on the mechanism of the genetic control of fruit quality traits,less effort has been made to investigate the way that these genetic mechanisms interact with the *** address this issue,we employed a large‘Royal Gala’×‘Braeburn’population of 572 seedlings replicated over sites in three climatically diverse apple-growing regions in New *** for traits including fruit maturation timing,firmness and dry matter content was performed at each of these three sites for a single growing season(2011),and at two sites(Motueka and Hawke’s Bay)for two seasons(2009 and 2010).The phenotype data collected over 2 years at two sites enabled the detection of 190 quantitative trait loci(QTL)that controlled these traits regardless of year or growing location,as well as some chromosomal loci that influenced the traits in a single given environment or *** those loci that were environmentally stable over three sites,there was an interdependency of fruit maturation date,dry matter content and storage potential within this population,with two regions on Linkage Groups(LGs)10 and 16 strongly *** these loci were used in a marker-assisted selection programme to select for progeny bearing firmer fruit,this would have the unintentional consequence of selecting,high dry matter content,later maturing *** addition,a further 113 new QTLs with a smaller effect were identified,some of which were exhibited only in a single growing environment,demonstrating the underlying complexity of control of traits determining fruit quality,in addition to the need for being aware of environmental effects when developing new apple varieties.
