Engineering of efficient visible light photocatalysts:Ti_(1-x+y)Cu_(x)La_(y)O_(2)(x=0.03;y=0,0.005,0.01) compositions

In dye-photocatalysis, widening the wavelengths absorption range of catalysts as well as aborting the recombination of the photoexcited charge carriers(electrons-holes pairs) are of paramount *** the current study, we report the photocatalytic characteristics of four compositions composed of TiO_(2),Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2), Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders for two harmful dyes(Congo red and methylene blue). The X-ray diffraction technique verified the configuration of mixed anatase and rutile phases in pure TiO_(2)and Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2)powders while Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders possess anatase phase only. The changes of the band gap structure and dimensions of the unit cell volume of TiO_(2)confirm the substitution of Ti^(4+)sites by Cu^(2+)and La^(3+)ions. Remarkable widening of wavelengths absorption with formation of long absorption tails were found in TiO_(2)(3.13 e V) through insertion of La^(3+)plus Cu^(2+)ions. Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)samples exhibit a visible light band gap of 2.3 and 2.7 e V, respectively. Based on SEm images, incorporation of Cu^(2+)and La^(3+)ions influences the surface morphology of TiO_(2). The resulting Ti_(0.97)Cu_(0.03)O_(2), Ti_(0.965)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.005)O_(2)and Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)powders present enhanced photocatalytic activity towards Congo red dye degradation compared to pure one under natural solar spectrum. The best Ti_(0.96)Cu_(0.03)La_(0.01)O_(2)catalyst exhibits superior photocatalytic activity of 96% for 10 ppm CR dye in 20 min as well as above average photocatalytic efficiency of 63% for 30 ppm CR dye in 120 min. As well, it showed acceptable photodegradation activity of 52% for 30 ppm mB solution in 140 min of sunlight irradiation. Biogas is a renewable and clean energy source that plays an important role in the current environment of lowcarbon *** high-content CO_(2) in biogas can be separated,transformed,and utilized,it not only realizes high-value utilization of biogas but also promotes carbon reduction in the biogas *** improve the combustion stability of biogas,an inhomogeneous,partially premixed stratified(IPPS)combustion model was adopted in this *** thermal flame structure and stability were investigated for a wide range of mixture inhomogeneities,turbulence levels,CO_(2) concentrations,air-to-fuel velocity ratios,and combustion energies in a concentric flow slot burner(CFSB).A fine-wire thermocouple is used to resolve the thermal flame *** flame size was reduced by increasing the CO_(2) concentration and the flames became lighter *** flame temperature also decreased with increase in CO_(2) *** stability was reduced by increasing the CO_(2) ***,at a certain level of mixture inhomogeneity,the concentration of CO_(2) in the IPPS mode did not affect the ***,the IPPS mode of combustion should be suitable for the combustion and stabilization of *** should support the design of highly stabilized biogas turbulent flames independent of CO_(2) *** data show that the lower stability conditions are partially due to the change in fuel combustion energy,which is characterized by the Wobbe index(WI).In addition,at a certain level of mixture inhomogeneity,the effect of the WI on flame stability becomes dominant.

This article focuses on the experimental and numerical study of an industrial prototype furnace intended for the production of ceramics in order to improve the energy efficiency and therefore optimize the fuel consumption and the corresponding carbon dioxide *** order to understand the thermal behavior from which stems the energy efficiency of the experimental prototype,we establish in this work,a simplified modeling allowing to establish a mathematical model describing the thermal behavior of the *** model is able to accurately predict the spatial and temporal distribution of the temperature at each point of the furnace to control the firing of the refractory product so that the final product is of good quality in terms of resistance and *** addition,the power consumed by the prototype must be optimized in order to reduce energy and environmental *** particular,this efficient technology has allowed us to save 83% of energy used in the traditional furnace and to reduce 87.36% of the relative carbon dioxide *** simulation of the mathematical model made it possible to compare the numerical results with the experimental measurements obtained by the prototype as well as to validate the model and to adjust the heat transfer parameters.

Side lobe level reduction(SLL)of antenna arrays significantly enhances the signal-to-interference ratio and improves the quality of service(QOS)in recent and future wireless communication systems starting from 5G up to ***,it improves the array gain and directivity,increasing the detection range and angular resolution of radar *** study proposes two highly efficient SLL reduction *** techniques are based on the hybridization between either the single convolution or the double convolution algorithms and the genetic algorithm(GA)to develop the Conv/GA andDConv/GA,*** convolution process determines the element’s excitations while the GA optimizes the element *** m elements linear antenna array(LAA),the convolution of the excitation coefficients vector by itself provides a new vector of excitations of length N=(2m−1).This new vector is divided into three different sets of excitations including the odd excitations,even excitations,and middle excitations of lengths m,m−1,andm,*** the same element spacing as the original LAA is used,it is noticed that the odd and even excitations provide a much lower SLL than that of the LAA but with amuch wider half-power beamwidth(HPBW).While the middle excitations give the same HPBWas the original LAA with a relatively higher *** the increased HPBWof the odd and even excitations,the element spacing is optimized using the ***,the synthesized arrays have the same HPBW as the original LAA with a two-fold reduction in the ***,for extreme SLL reduction,the DConv/GA is *** this technique,the same procedure of the aforementioned Conv/GA technique is performed on the resultant even and odd excitation *** provides a relatively wider HPBWthan the original LAA with about quad-fold reduction in the SLL.

The increasing trend for integrating renewable energy sources into the grid to achieve a cleaner energy system is one of the main reasons for the development of sustainable microgrid(mG)*** typical power-electronized power systems,mGs make extensive use of power electronics converters,which are highly controllable and flexible but lead to a profound impact on the dynamic performance of the whole *** with traditional large-capacity power systems,mGs are less resistant to perturbations,and various dynamic variables are coupled with each other on multiple timescales,resulting in a more complex system instability *** meet the technical and economic challenges,such as active and reactive power-sharing,voltage,and frequency deviations,and imbalances between power supply and demand,the concept of hierarchical control has been introduced into mGs,allowing systems to control and manage the high capacity of renewable energy sources and ***,as the capacity and scale of the mG system increase,along with a multi-timescale control loop design,the multi-timescale interactions in the system may become more significant,posing a serious threat to its safe and stable *** investigate the multi-timescale behaviors and instability mechanisms under dynamic inter-actions for AC mGs,existing coordinated control strategies are discussed,and the dynamic stability of the system is defined and classified in this ***,the modeling and assessment methods for the stability analysis of multi-timescale systems are also ***,an outlook and discussion of future research directions for AC mGs are also presented.

Textile dyes are dramatic sources of pollution and non-aesthetic disturbance of aquatic life and therefore represent a potential risk of bioaccumulation that can affect living *** is imperative to reduce or eliminate these dyes from liquid effluents with innovative biomaterials and ***,this research aims to highlight the performance of Capparis spinosa L waste-activated carbon(CSLW-AC)adsorbent to remove crystal violet(CV)from an aqueous *** mechanism of CV adsorption on CSLW-AC was evaluated based on the coupling of experimental data and different characterization *** efficiency of the CSLW-AC material reflected by the equilibrium adsorption capacity of CV could reach more than 195.671 mg·g^(–1) when 0.5 g·L^(–1) of CSLW-AC(Particle size≤250μm)is introduced into the CV of initial concentration of 100 mg·L^(–1) at pH 6 and temperature 65℃ and in the presence of potassium ions after 60 min of contact time according to the one parameter at a time *** adsorption behavior of CV on CSLW-AC was found to be consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Frumkin's linear isothermal *** thermodynamic aspects indicate that the process is physical,spontaneous,and *** optimization of the process by the Box Behnken design of experiments resulted in an adsorption capacity approaching 183.544 mg·g^(–1)([CV]=100 mg·L^(–1) and[CSLW-AC]=0.5 g·L^(–1) at 35 min).The results of the Lactuca sativa seeds germination in treated CV(70%),adsorbent solvent and thermal regeneration(more than 5 cycles),and process cost analysis(1.0484 USD·L^(–1))tests are encouraging and promising for future exploitations of the CSLW-AC material in different industrial fields.

A 56-day feeding period was performed to investigate the possible impacts of dietary nano curcumin(0,50,100,150,and 200 ppm)on the growth,nutrient utilization,non-specific immune parameters,antioxidants in Nile tilapia under chronic low temperature(21.02±0.11◦C).Fishes(n=225;Initial weight=4.39±0.08 g/fish)were randomly stocked at 15 fish/tank for five experimental groups in *** low-temperature circumstances,dietary curcumin in nano form showed no notable alteration in growth variable,nutrient efficiency,digestive enzymes efficiency,biometric indices,survival rates,and hematological ***,the serum of fishes with nano curcumin diets under low-temperature stress displayed higher total protein as well as lower glucose,cortisol,and total cholesterol compared with the control ***,fish fed nano curcumin diets displayed higher lysozyme and bactericidal activities compared to the control group and the best performance was found at dietary nano curcumin level of≥100 ***,groups fed the basal diet demonstrated the poorest antioxidant capacity,and the best superoxide dismutase(SOD)and glutathione peroxidase(GPx)existed in fish with nano curcumin diets while the best catalase(CAT)efficiency occurred at higher nano curcumin levels≥100 *** addition,higher counts of intestinal microbiota in terms of total bacterial count(TBC),total yeast and molds count(TYmC),and coliform were noticed in fish consumed the basal diet compared to groups fed on nano curcumin *** conclusion,incorporating nano curcumin at a level of≥100 mg/kg diet(particularly at 150 mg/kg)improved a non-specific immune response,antioxidant,and healthier gastrointestinal microbiota in Nile tilapia under chronic low-temperature stress.

Production and Characterization of a Composite Based on Plaster and Juncus maritimus Plant Fibers

Nowadays,materials with a limited impact on the environment are required in the construction *** the interesting properties of natural elements such as natural fibers,it seems advantageous to use them to reinforce materials while protecting the environment and guaranteeing economic *** these lines,this research was devoted to studying the effect of untreated natural fibers extracted from the Juncus maritimus plant(from Southern morocco)on ***,the effect of the percentage of added fibers on the fluidity of the plaster was evaluated by means of the marsh’s cone method,that is,by measuring the time taken by a known volume of plaster to flow from a cone through a short ***,the highly porous microstructure of the plaster was observed using a scanning electron microscope(SEm).The diffractogram of Juncus maritimus fibers was built by means of a X-ray diffraction(XRD)*** values obtained for the wet thermal conductivity of the composites decreased from 0.4853 W/m.K for the reference specimen to 0.4324 W/m K for a fiber volume content of 40%.The densities were calculated to determine the lightness of each *** mechanical strengths[flexural and compressive]were evaluated for different percentages of rush *** addition of 20%volume fiber was found to improve the flexural strength to 3.63 mPa compared to the sample without fiber(3.36 mPa),thereby ensuring good toughness of the considered ***,a reduction in compressive strength was observed,due to the poor adhesion between the fibers and the plaster matrix.
