Brain damage sustained from repeated blows in boxing, wrestling, and other combat sports has serious physical and mental health consequences. The degenerative brain disease, chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), presents clinically with memory loss, aggression, difficulty in rational thinking and other cognitive problems. This spectrum, which mimics Alzheimer’s disease, is diagnosed post-mortem through a brain biopsy in many professional athletes. However, little is known about the process of development and how to identify vulnerable individuals who may be on course for developing CTE. Boxing is a sport that has a severe toll on athletes’ health, primarily on their brain health and function. This review addresses the concerns of brain injury, describes the pathologies that manifest in multiple scales, e.g., molecular and cognitive, and also proposes possible diagnostic and prognostic markers to characterize the early onset of CTE along with the aim to identify a starting point for future precautions and interventions.

沿岸湿地作为重要的蓝碳（C）主要储存库具有至关重要的意义，对于提供基于自然的解决方案以应对气候变化政策起着至关重要的作用。本研究旨在评估总蓝C（TBC）及其组成部分的动态变化：即土壤有机碳（SOC）、地下生物量（BGB）和地上生物量（AGB）如何受到土地利用/土地覆盖（LULC）类别和湿地类型的影响。以印度梅丁尼普尔海岸平原的一个恢复湿地和一个退化湿地为研究区，利用Pleiades 1A和1B卫星影像对恢复湿地和退化湿地进行了土地覆盖类别分析，土壤有机碳的量化基于从两个湿地收集的特定点样本数据（nr=250;nd=84）。使用涉及现场测定的树木测量变量的通用方程式来估算AGB;BGB值通过考虑AGB值的间接通用方程来计算。综合考虑所有组成部分，恢复湿地和退化湿地的TBC储存量估计分别为246710.91Mg和7865.49 Mg。在恢复湿地中，茂密红树林和开阔红树林表现出更高的蓝碳组分浓度，而其他LULC类别则具有中等到低密度的碳储存；在退化湿地中，开阔红树林类别记录了碳库的高密度，而草本植被、裸露土壤和沙地以及水体具有较低浓度的碳库。结果突出显示了在两个湿地的不同LULC类别之间蓝碳库存在显著差异（P<0.05）。此外，湿地类型和LULC类别对TBC的变化会产生显著影响（P<0.001）。总体而言，这项研究有助于提高作为蓝碳汇的沿岸湿地管理的有效性，强调了它们作为气候变化缓解策略的重要性。

The utilization of waste feedstocks rich in free fatty acids(FFAs)improves biofuel production on the basis of economics and ***,converting these feedstocks to usable biofuel poses inherent problems in terms of the FFA to biofuel conversion yield and the catalyst ***,we report novel ferric sulfate impregnated carbon derived from waste tires as highly active catalysts for FFA to biofuel *** approach takes advantage of facile synthesis methods involving sonication and dehydration processes to create materials that are useful for the efficient catalytic conversion of FFAs to advanced *** of FFAs to fatty acid methyl esters was achieved at 65C and atmospheric pressure with>98%yield even in the presence of *** catalysts maintained similar activity after four successive uses,which indicates that the active catalytic sites are effectively supported by the three-dimensional meso/microporous architecture of the tire-derived carbon.

As-cast Mg-Sn alloys(3,6,and 9 wt%Sn)were solution treated at 653,703 and 753 K(380,430 and 480℃)for 1,4,8,12 and 24 h to determine the variation of secondary phase with respect to Sn content,temperature and ***-3 wt%Sn exhibits Mg2Sn dissolution at all solution treatment temperatures whereas Mg-6 and 9 wt%Sn alloy displays Mg2Sn reprecipitation and dissolution depending on the heat treatment *** addition,a combined mathematical model that predicts the secondary phase dissolution and solute redistribution as a function of temperature and time is presented in this *** model is a significant improvement compared to the previous studies where the dissolution and homogenization processes are considered *** effect of grain size and solute mobility upon the dissolution and homogenization kinetics is discussed as well.

A comparative study of mangrove floras in China and India

Species compositions in the mangrove habitats of China and India, especially on Hainan Island （China） and on the Sun- darbans and the Andaman ＆ Nicobar Islands （India）, are of interest, showing several similarities and differences. The total mangrove areas of India cover about 6419 km^2 with 43 species （23 major and 20 minor species）, while the mangrove areas of China cover about 150 km^2 with 26 speices （19 major and 7 minor speices）. We carried out a comparison of mangrove floras in the Indian Sundarbans, Andaman ＆ Nicobar Islands and in Hainan Island. The mangrove areas of the Indian Sundarbans comprise about 66.5% of the total Indian mangroves, presently covering an area of 4267 km^2 with 35 species from 22 genera and 16 families. There are 34 species from 17 genera and l 3 families in the Andaman ＆ Nicobar Islands. Hainan Island is considered a distribution center of mangroves; it has the largest number of mangrove species in China, i.e., 25 species from 15 genera and 12 families, accounting for about 96% of the total number of mangrove species in China. The mangroves of Hainan Island and the Andaman ＆ Nicobar Islands belong to island types, while those of Sundarbans belong to inter-tidal deltaic types. Differences in soil type, rainfall, temperature, tidal fluctuation and other climatic features possibly cause variations in floristic composition of these regions.

In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), the traditional cryptographic mechanisms for security require higher consumption of resources such as large memory, high processing speed and communication bandwidth. Also, they cannot detect faulty, malicious and selfish nodes which lead to the breakdown of network during packet routing. Hence, cryptographic security mechanisms are not sufficient to select appropriate nodes among many neighbouring nodes for secure packet routing from source to sink. Alternatively, trust management schemes are tools to evaluate the trust of a node and thereby choosing a node for routing, and also detecting their unexpected node behaviour (either faulty or malicious). In this paper, we propose TENCR: a new Trust Evaluation method based on the Node’s QoS Characteristics (trust metrics) and neighbouring nodes' Recommendations. The proposed new technique detects the malicious and selfish nodes very efficiently than the arithmetic mean based methods, and allows trustworthy nodes in routing, thereby eliminating malicious/selfish nodes. Our proposed trust evaluation method is adaptive and energy efficient that separates the trustworthy nodes and qualify them to take the participation in routing, and disqualify the other nodes as malicious/selfish. Hence, trustworthy nodes only be allowed in routing, and malicious/selfish nodes will be eliminated automatically.

The traditional cryptographic security techniques are not sufficient for secure routing of message from source to destination in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), because it requires sophisticated software, hardware, large memory, high processing speed and communication bandwidth. It is not economic and feasible because, depending on the application, WSN nodes are high-volume in number (hence, limited resources at each node), deployment area may be hazardous, unattended and/or hostile and sometimes dangerous. As WSNs are characterized by severely constrained resources and requirement to operate in an ad-hoc manner, security functionality implementation to protect nodes from adversary forces and secure routing of message from source node to base station has become a challenging task. In this paper, we present a direct trust dependent link state routing using route trusts which protects WSNs against routing attacks by eliminating the un-trusted nodes before making routes and finding best trustworthy route among them. We compare our work with the most prevalent routing protocols and show its benefits over them.

Precursor foam based Co incorporated α-Fe2O3 (AFC) was successfully synthesized at 600℃ calcination temperature by simple solution method using PVA. The formation of α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles was confirmed by X-ray diffraction measurement and reduction in crystallite size was found after cobalt incorporation. Field emission scanning electron microscopy revealed the existence of pyramidal shaped iron oxide in AFC. FTIR and Raman spectra also confirmed the presence of α-Fe2O3. Photocatalytic activity study showed that the cobalt incorporated α-Fe2O3 was better photocatalyst than pure α-Fe2O3. The cobalt incorporated iron oxide nanoparticles could be used for drug delivery application and this simple preparation method could be adopted for the synthesis of other transition metal oxides.

Mathematical models in seismo-geochemical monitoring offer powerful tools for the study and exploration of complex dynamics associated with discharge of radon as the indicator of change of intense-deformed conditions of seismogenic layers or blocks within the lithosphere. Seismic precursory model of radon gas emanation in the process of earthquake prediction research aims to find out the distinct anomaly variation necessary to correlate radon gas with processes of preparation and realization of tectonic earthquakes in long-term and short-term forecasts tectonic earthquakes. The study involves a radon gas volume analytic model to find the correlation of radon fluctuations to stress drop under compression and dilatation strain condition. Here, we present a mathematical inference by observing radon gas emanation prior to the occurrence of earthquake that may reduce the uncertainties in models and updating their probability distributions in a Bayesian deterministic model. Using Bayesian melding theorem, we implement an inferential framework to understand the process of preparation of tectonic earthquake and concurrent occurrence of radon discharge during a tectonic earthquake phenomena. Bayesian melding for deterministic simulation models was augmented to make use of prior knowledge on correlations between model inputs. The background porosity is used as a priori information for analyzing the block subjected to inelastic strain. It can be inferred that use of probabilistic framework involving exhalation of radon may provide a scenario of earthquake occurrences on recession of the curve that represents a qualitative pattern of radon activity concentration drop, indicating associated stress change within the causative seismogenic fault. Using evidence analysis, we propose a joint conditional probability framework model simulation to understand how a single fracture may be affected in response to an external load and radon anomaly change that can be used to detect the slip

Objective:To study the in vivo efficacy of these two ACTs in the treatment of Plasmodium falciparum {*** malaria) in Kolkata and to detennine the prevalence of mutant S769N codon of the PfATPase6 gene among field isolates of *** collected from the study area. Methods:A total of 207 *** positive cases were enrolled randomly in two study arms and followed up for 42 days as per WHO(2009) protocol.A portion of PfATPase6 gene spanning codon S769N was amplified and sequenced by direct sequencing ***:It was observed that the efficacy of bodi the ACT regimens were highly effective in the study area and no mutant S769N was detected from any ***:The used,combination AS+SP is effective and the other combination AM+I.F might be an alternative,if needed.
