Simvastatin, a BCS class II drug, is associated with poor aqueous solubility, first-pass metabolism and short half-life. In the present work, nanoparticles were prepared and evaluated. Optimization of formulation and process parameters was done through the use of independent and dependent variables. Preliminary studies were done to determine suitable range of the concentration of Eudragit polymer (10%–30%) and the ratio of drug to polymer (1:1 to 1:5) for the formation of nanoparticles by emulsification and a solvent evaporation technique. Results revealed that the mean size of nanoparticles was affected by stirring speed from 5000 RPM, 8000 RPM, and 12000 RPM. The results of increase in association efficiency and percent yield with increase in amount of drug from 100 mg, 150 mg, and 200 mg in selected range were observed. In-vitro release studies showed that two formulations possess highest initial burst and slow sustained drug release. There was 2.93-fold decrease in total cholesterol and 3.27-fold increases in triglyceride level during in-vivo study.

Millets are widely recognized for their nutritional significance;however, the methods employed for their processing are currently lacking. This article primarily focuses on the advanced technologies and progressions in millet dehulling and polishing. These technologies operate based on the fundamental principles of compression-shearing, abrasion-friction, and centrifugal-impact forces. Processing of millets can be challenging because of the physical characteristics and tight attachment of hull and bran to the endosperm. However, several dehullers have been designed to solve this problem for different kinds of millets. In addition, the nutritional and anti-nutritional characteristics undergo alterations due to both dehulling and polishing processes. These alterations are thoroughly examined and discussed in this article. Specifically, anti-nutrients such as tannins and phytate are predominantly found in the outer pericarp of the grain and experience a reduction after undergoing dehulling and polishing. The nutritional properties are also subjected to a reduction;however, this reduction can be mitigated by subjecting the grains to certain pretreatments before dehulling and polishing. These treatments serve to enhance dehulling efficiency and nutrient digestibility while simultaneously reducing the presence of anti-nutrients. Novel thermal and non-thermal methodologies such as microwave, hydrothermal, high-pressure processing, and ohmic heating can be employed for processing millets, thereby diminishing the loss of nutrients. Additional research can be carried out to investigate their impact on the dehulling and polishing of millets.

The Internet of Things (IoT) represents a radical shifting paradigm fortechnological innovations as it can play critical roles in cyberspace applications invarious sectors, such as security, monitoring, medical, and environmental sectors,and also in control and industrial applications. The IoT in E-medicine unleashedthe design space for new technologies to give instant treatment to patients whilealso monitoring and tracking health conditions. This research presents a systemlevel architecture approach for IoT energy efficiency and security. The proposedarchitecture includes functional components that provide privacy managementand system security. Components in the security function group provide securecommunications through Multi-Authority Ciphertext-Policy Attributes-BasedEncryption (MA-CPABE). Because MA-CPABE is assigned to unlimited devices,presuming that the devices are reliable, the user encodes data with AdvancedEncryption Standard (AES) and protects the ABE approach using the solutionsof symmetric key. The Johnson’s algorithm with a new computation measure isused to increase network lifetime since an individual sensor node with limitedenergy represents the inevitable constraints for the broad usage of wireless sensornetworks. The optimal route from a source to destination turns out as the cornerstone for longevity of network and its sustainability. To reduce the energy consumption of networks, the evaluation measures consider the node’s residualenergy, the number of neighbors, their distance, and the link dependability. Theexperiment results demonstrate that the proposed model increases network lifeby about 12.25% (27.73%) compared to Floyd–Warshall’s, Bellman–Ford’s,and Dijkstra’s algorithms, lowering consumption of energy by eliminating thenecessity for re-routing the message as a result of connection failure.

Cold-adapted bioinoculants are considered as harbingers of sustainable hill agriculture. Therefore, two previously characterized psychrotolerant diazotrophs, Pseudomonas jesenii MP1 and Rhodococcus qingshengii S10107, were evaluated for their plant growthpromoting potential for chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) grown under natural field conditions. Comparative analysis of agronomical and biochemical crop parameters revealed the irrelevance of chemical fertilizers for chickpea production;the diazotrophs alone were sufficient to fulfil the crop's nutritional requirement. However, the integrated use of bacterial strains in combination with urea at 20 kg N ha^-1 as urea was being recommended for higher crop yield and better soil nitrogen status. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) and denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE)-based soil bacterial dynamics unveiled the persistence of both diazotrophs until the end of the crop maturation period without affecting the native micro-flora. Therefore, these bioinoculants can be explored as natural nitrogen resource, and an additional incentive in their bio-formulation will be a step towards agricultural sustainability.

The role of hydroxyl-functionalization of reduced TiO2(Blue TiO2) for the photocatalytic oxidation of toxic NOx was systematically explored in the present study. A hydrogenation technique was used to reduce the rutile phase in P25 TiO2giving rise to a Magneli phase. Then, the process was followed by the surface functionalization of the Blue TiO2with Trimethoxy(Propyl) Silane(TPS). The fabricated nanoparticles were structurally characterized,and photocatalytically tested for NOx abatement. OH-functionalized Blue TiO2showed strong photo-oxidation of NOx with NOx removal efficiency of 80.2%. The broad-band light absorption(UV and visible) and the formation of a higher number of radicals on the surface of OH-functionalized Blue TiO2made the material more efficient than other samples. In addition, the lowest NO2selectivity of 2.7% proved the effective suppression of toxic NO2and formation of nitrate ions. The reusability test was carried out for five cycles of 1 h and had 10% loss in NOx removal efficiency. The role of surface OH groups for the oxidation of NO and NO2has been discussed in this manuscript. A possible mechanism for NOx photo-oxidation is proposed based on FTIR, ESR, and ion chromatography test.

Entire Himalayan region is vulnerable to rain-induced （torrential rainfall） hazards in the form of flash flood, cloudburst or glacial lake outburst flood Flash floods and cloudburst are generally caused by high intensity rainfall followed by debris flow or landslide often resulting into blockade of river channels. The examples of some major disasters caused by torrential rainfall events in last fifty years are the flash floods of 1968 in Teesta valley, in 1993 and 2000 in Sutlej valley, in 1978 in Bhagirathi and in 1970 in Alaknanda river valleys. The formation of landslide dams and subsequent breaching is also associated with such rainfall events. These dams may persist for years or may burst within a short span of its formation. Due to sudden surge of water level in the river valleys, havoc and panic are created in the down stream. In Maknanda valley, frequencies of such extreme rainfall events are found to be increasing in last two decades. However, the monthly trend of extreme rainfall events has partly indicated this increase. In most of the years extreme rainfall events and cloudburst disaster were reported in August during the later part of the monsoon season.

The focus of this study is to investigate the arsenic movement and impacts on the residual concentrations on groundwater pollution *** Gangetic plain area in the Ballia,Uttar Pradesh is selected as study area,which is also reported to extreme arsenic pollution in soil-water system.A modelling approach is developed to assess the arsenic flux in partially saturated zone using data of soil texture,soil hydraulic properties and *** type,slope,and land-use cover is considered for estimating the transient flux at the top boundary from daily precipitation and evapotranspiration data of the study *** transport in the subsurface is predicted by the mass transfer equation,which is derived by integrating Darcy's law with the equation of mass *** arsenic profiles of varying hydrogeological conditions associated with different locations in the study area are presented as breakthrough *** results shows that the arsenic transport is dominated by the advective flux and strongly depends on the soilmoisture flow *** may increases the arsenic load to underlaying groundwater *** simulated results suggest that mobility plays a vital role arsenic transport as well as on adsorbed arsenic concentration in ***,the adsorption isotherms show that the high peak curve for Bairai and low at Sikarderpur.A higher pollution risk is observed in the Belthara Road,whereas a lower vulnerability is computed in the north and northeast *** study can help in strategising sustainable groundwater management and protection planning of identified regions of India.
