Understanding the reproductive biology particularly sexual maturity,reproductive cycle and fecundity of fish is useful for fisheries ***,there is no information about reproductive biology of Nemipterus *** study addresses this deficit for *** conducted a 12-month study to understand the reproductive biology particularly the sex ratio,sexual maturity,fecundity and reproductive cycle of *** at the east coast of peninsular *** indicated that ratios of male and female were statistically similar up to 19.0 cm TL(total length).Male outnumbered female above 19.0 cm TL(Pfecundity ranged between 54,970 and 236,938 with a mean fecundity of 102,477±43,580(standard deviation).Male and female fish reached first sexual maturation at almost same size,15.8 and 15.6 cm,*** information is needed to determine the lowest acceptable harvest length of this fish under the management aim to enter all female fish for reproduction minimum one time in their *** estimated the reproductive period of *** applying oocytes diameter,histological examination of ovaries and monthly mean *** of these methods gave a consistent result about spawning season,which appeared to be from March to July with peaks in March and *** on this result,*** spawners can be protected during March to July for entering the reproductive *** from artificial breeding,the results of this study might facilitate future efforts at fine-tuning fishing effort for a proper management of ***.

Microstructural evolution,dislocation density and tensile properties of Al–6.5Si–2.1Cu–0.35Mg alloy produced by different casting processes

Al–Si–Cu–Mg foundry alloys are used in casting process ***,their strength properties remain low due to their microstructural characteristics and *** this work,the microstructural characteristics,dislocation densities,and mechanical properties of Al–Si–Cu–Mg cast alloys prepared through different casting methods were studied *** casting processes,namely,gravity casting(GC),rheocasting(RC),thixoforming(Thixo),and Thixo with heat treatment,were *** GC and RC samples had mainly dendriticα-Al phase microstructures and exhibited coarse Si particles and intermetallic compounds in their interdendritic *** contrast,the Thixo and heat-treated Thixo(HT-Thixo)samples exhibited microstructural refinement with uniformly distributedα-Al globules,fine fibrous Si particles,and fragmented intermetallic compounds amongα-Al *** accumulation of dislocation densities increased in the Thixo sample as the strain was increased due to plastic ***,the ultimate tensile strength and yield strength of the HT-Thixo sample increased by 87%and 63%,respectively,relative to those of the GC *** cleavage fracture displayed by the GC and RC samples led to brittle ***,the Thixo and HT-Thixo samples presented dimple-based ductile fracture.

Orthogonal Codes-Based Dynamic Spectrum Access in Cognitive Radio Networks

Dynamic spectrum access(DSA) in cognitive radio(CR) networks became a challenging research area recently. In CR technology, the DSA between primary users(PUs) and secondary users(SUs) simultaneously can be achieved without degrading the performance of the PUs by SUs interference. This can be achieved by donating incentive power to the PUs in order to compensate the interference caused by the SUs. Consequently, PUs allow SUs to share the spectrum. In this paper, orthogonal codes-based dynamic spectrum access(OC-DSA) technique is proposed. OC-DSA technique employs orthogonality between PUs and SUs transmitted data symbols in addition to the incentive power donation. Compared to other techniques, the proposed technique uses a simple encoder at the SU network for the same PU network infrastructure. By applying orthogonal codes, the interference caused by SUs is canceled and hence the donated power to incentivize the PUs is reduced. Also, the SU packet rate is increased significantly. The simulation results show that the proposed technique provides effective improvements over other existing techniques in the signal strength and the bit error rate performance of both the PU network and the SU network at the receiver side. Moreover, the proposed technique requires less donated power to incentivize the PU and has higher packet rate.

Resveratrol Modulates Bone Mineral Density and Bone Mineral Content in A Rat Model of Male Hypogonadism

Objective: To determine whether resveratrol(Res) can correct osteoporosis induced in a rat model of male hypogonadism. Methods: Thirty-two rats were randomly divided into 4 groups, 8 in each group;1) a control sham group: underwent a similar surgical procedure for induction of orchiectomy(ORCD) without ligation of any arteries or veins or removal of the testis and epididymis;2) a control + Res-treated group(Con+Res):underwent sham surgery similar to the control, but was then treated with Res, as described below;3) an ORCDinduced group: bilateral ORCD surgery as described above, and 4) a ORCD+Res-treated group: bilateral ORCD surgery followed by Res treatment. Res treatment began 4 weeks after ORCD and continued for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, bone mineral density(BMD) and bone mineral content(BMC) were measured in the tibia and femur of each rat’s right hind leg. Blood levels of bone turnover indicators such as deoxypyridinoline(Dpd), N-telopeptide of type Ⅰ collagen(NTXⅠ), alkaline phosphatase(ALP), and osteocalcin(OC), as well as receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B(RANK) and osteoprotegerin(OPG) were assessed. Results: ORCD significantly decreased BMD(Pficantly increased bone resorption, manifested by increased RANK. In addition, it inhibited serum levels of OPG and OC. Res treatment after ORCD effectively increased serum levels of bone formation markers such as OPG and OC, compared with testisectomized rats(Pf the normal balance between RANK and OPG.

Efficacy of Gold Nanoparticles against Nephrotoxicity Induced by Schistosoma mansoni Infection in Mice

Objective In this study, the ameliorative effects of gold nanoparticles （gold NP） on the renal tissue damage in Schistosoma mansoni （S. mansoni）-infected mice was investigated. Methods High-resolution transmission electron microscopy was used for the characterization of NP. The gold NP at concentrations of 250, 500, and 1000 μg/kg body weight were inoculated into 5. mansoni-infected mice. Results The parasite caused alterations in the histological architecture. furthermore, it induced a significant reduction in the renal glutathione levels; however, the levels of nitric oxide and malondialdehyde were significantly elevated. The parasite also managed to downregulate KIM-I, NGAL, MCP-1, and TGf-8 mRNA expression in infected animals. Notably, gold NP treatment in mice reduced the extent of histological impairment and renal oxidative damage. Gold NP were able to regulate gene expression impaired by 5. Mansoni infection. Conclusion The curative effect of gold NP against renal toxicity in 5. mansoni-infected mice is associated with their role as free radical scavengers.

Transfer learning from T1-weighted to T2-weighted Magnetic resonance sequences for brain image segmentation

Magnetic resonance(MR)imaging is a widely employed medical imaging technique that produces detailed anatomical images of the human *** segmentation of MR im-ages plays a crucial role in medical image analysis,as it enables accurate diagnosis,treatment planning,and monitoring of various diseases and *** to the lack of sufficient medical images,it is challenging to achieve an accurate segmentation,especially with the application of deep learning *** aim of this work is to study transfer learning from T1-weighted(T1-w)to T2-weighted(T2-w)MR sequences to enhance bone segmentation with minimal required computation *** the use of an excitation-based convolutional neural networks,four transfer learning mechanisms are proposed:transfer learning without fine tuning,open fine tuning,conservative fine tuning,and hybrid transfer ***,a multi-parametric segmentation model is proposed using T2-w MR as an intensity-based augmentation *** novelty of this work emerges in the hybrid transfer learning approach that overcomes the overfitting issue and preserves the features of both modalities with minimal computation time and *** segmentation results are evaluated using 14 clinical 3D brain MR and CT *** results reveal that hybrid transfer learning is superior for bone segmentation in terms of performance and computation time with DSCs of 0.5393±*** T2-w-based augmentation has no significant impact on the performance of T1-w MR segmentation,it helps in improving T2-w MR segmentation and developing a multi-sequences segmentation model.

Combination treatment of bisphosphonate(pamidronate) and Quercus infectoria semipurified fraction promotes proliferation and differentiation of osteoblast cell via expression of Osterix and Runx2 marker

Objective:To understand the effects of combination treatment of pamidronate with isolated Quercus infectoria semi-purified fraction(Qlsm-f)on human foetal osteoblast cell model(hfOB1.19 cell line)through assessment of Runt related transcription fraction-2(Runx2)and Osterix(Osx).Methods:The isolation and purification of QIsm-f were conducted by chromatographic *** order to assess relative efficacy of QIsm-f to the osteoblast model,the determination of half maximal effective concentration(EC_(50))was performed by MTT *** 1.19 cells were cultured in DMEM f-12 and supplemented with 10%fetal bovine serum along with 1%penicillin-streptomycin incubated in 5%CO_2 at 37℃.Expression of Runx2 and Osx was assessed through western blotting and confirmed with immunofluorescence ***:Results of western blot analysis and immunofluorescence staining demonstrated that compared to hfOB 1.19 cells treated with single individual treatment of QIsm-f and control groups,levels of Runx2 and Osx were elevated with higher fluorescence intensity and more rapid proliferation in hfOB 1.19 cells treated with combined treatment of QIsm-f and ***:The finding demonstrates the synergistic effect between osteoporotic drug pamidronate and established *** combination treatment helps increase the efficiency of pamidronate acting on osteoblast cells by stimulating osteoblast proliferation and differentiation via expression of Runx2 and Osx.

Computational Investigation of Brownian Motion and Thermophoresis Effect on Blood-Based Casson Nanofluid on a Non-linearly Stretching Sheet with Ohmic and Viscous Dissipation Effects

Motivated by the widespread applications of nanofluids,a nanofluid model is proposed which focuses on uniform magnetohydrodynamic(MHD)boundary layer flow over a non-linear stretching sheet,incorporating the Casson model for blood-based nanofluid while accounting for viscous and Ohmic dissipation effects under the cases of Constant Surface Temperature(CST)and Prescribed Surface Temperature(PST).The study employs a two-phase model for the nanofluid,coupled with thermophoresis and Brownian motion,to analyze the effects of key fluid parameters such as thermophoresis,Brownian motion,slip velocity,Schmidt number,Eckert number,magnetic parameter,and non-linear stretching parameter on the velocity,concentration,and temperature profiles of the *** proposed model is novel as it simultaneously considers the impact of thermophoresis and Brownian motion,along with Ohmic and viscous dissipation effects,in both CST and PST scenarios for blood-based Casson *** numerical technique built into MATLAB’s bvp4c module is utilized to solve the governing system of coupled differential equations,revealing that the concentration of nanoparticles decreases with increasing thermophoresis and Brownian motion parameters while the temperature of the nanofluid ***,a higher Eckert number is found to reduce the nanofluid temperature.A comparative analysis between CST and PST scenarios is also undertaken,which highlights the significant influence of these factors on the fluid’s *** findings have potential applications in biomedical processes to enhance fluid velocity and heat transfer rates,ultimately improving patient outcomes.

This paper is concerned with a vital topic in image processing:color image forgery detection. The development of computing capabilitieshas led to a breakthrough in hacking and forgery attacks on signal, image,and data communicated over networks. Hence, there is an urgent need fordeveloping efficient image forgery detection algorithms. Two main types offorgery are considered in this paper: splicing and copy-move. Splicing isperformed by inserting a part of an image into another image. On the otherhand, copy-move forgery is performed by copying a part of the image intoanother position in the same image. The proposed approach for splicingdetection is based on the assumption that illumination between the originaland tampered images is different. To detect the difference between the originaland tampered images, the homomorphic transform separates the illuminationcomponent from the reflectance component. The illumination histogramderivative is used for detecting the difference in illumination, and henceforgery detection is accomplished. Prior to performing the forgery detectionprocess, some pre-processing techniques, including histogram equalization,histogram matching, high-pass filtering, homomorphic enhancement, andsingle image super-resolution, are introduced to reinforce the details andchanges between the original and embedded sections. The proposed approachfor copy-move forgery detection is performed with the Speeded Up Robustfeatures (SURf) algorithm, which extracts feature points and feature vectors. Searching for the copied partition is accomplished through matchingwith Euclidian distance and hierarchical clustering. In addition, some preprocessing methods are used with the SURf algorithm, such as histogramequalization and single-mage super-resolution. Simulation results proved thefeasibility and the robustness of the pre-processing step in homomorphicdetection and SURf detection algorithms for splicing and copy-move forgerydetection, respectively.
