Cesium carbonate supported on hydroxyapatite coated ***2O4 magnetic nanoparticles （***2O4@Hap-Cs2CO3） was found to be magnetically separable, highly efficient, green and recyclable heterogeneous catalyst. The synthesized nanocatalyst has been characterized with several methods （FT-IR, SEM, TEM, XRD and XRF） and these analyzes confirmed which the cesium carbonate is well supported to catalyst surface. After full characterization, its catalytic activity was investigated in the synthesis of pyranopyrazole derivatives and the reactions were carried out at room temperature in 50：50 water/ethanol with excellent yields （88-95%）. More importantly, the ***204@Hap-Cs2CO3 was easily separated from the reaction mixture by external magnetic field and efficiently reused at least six runs without any loss of its catalytic activity. Thus, the developed nanomagnetic base catalyst is potentially useful for the green and economic production of organic compounds.

COCM: Class Based Optimized Congestion Management Protocol for Healthcare Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) consist of numerous sensor nodes which can be used in many new emerging applications like healthcare. One of the major challenges in healthcare environments is to manage congestion, because in applications, such as medical emergencies or patients remote monitoring, transmitted data is important and critical. So it is essential in the first place to avoid congestion as much as possible and in cases when congestion avoidance is not possible, to control the congestion. In this paper, a class based congestion management protocol has been proposed for healthcare applications. We distinguish between sensitive, non-sensitive and control traffics, and service the input traffics based on their priority and quality of service requirements (QoS). The proposed protocol which is called COCM avoids congestion in the first step using multipath routing. The proposed AQM algorithm uses separate virtual queue's condition on a single physical queue to accept or drop the incoming packets. In cases where input traffic rate increases and congestion cannot be avoided, it mitigates congestion by using an optimized congestion control algorithm. This paper deals with parameters like end to end delay, packet loss, energy consumption, lifetime and fairness which are important in healthcare applications. The performance of COCM was evaluated using the OPNET simulator. Simulation results indicated that COCM achieves its goals.

This article investigates the potential impact of manufacturing uncertainty in composite structures here in the form of thickness variation in laminate plies, on the robustness of commonly used Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) in Structural Health Monitoring (SHM). Namely, the robustness of an ANN SHM system is assessed through an airfoil case study based on the sensitivity of delamination location and size predictions, when the ANN is imposed to noisy input. In light of the observed poor performance of the original network, even when its architecture was carefully optimized, it had been proposed to weigh the input layer of the ANN by a set of signal-to-noise (SN) ratios and then trained the network. Both damage location and size predictions of the latter SHM approach were increased to above 90%. Practical aspects of the proposed robust SN-ANN SHM have also been discussed.

The suitability of high pressure nozzles in terms of impact upon targeted surfaces has indicated its effectiveness for the cleaning of oil production tubing scale, which has recently attracted wider industrial applications considering its efficiency, ease of operation and cost benefit. In the oil and gas production, these nozzles are now used for cleaning the scale deposits along the production tubing resulted mainly from salt crystallization due to pressure and temperature drop. Detailed characterizations of flat-fan nozzle in terms of droplet sizes and mean velocities will benefit momentum computations for the axial and radial distribution along the spray width, with the view of finding the best stand-off distance between the target scale and the spray nozzle. While the droplet sizes and the velocities determine the momentum at impact, measuring droplet sizes has been known to be difficult especially in the high density spray region, still laboratory characterization of nozzles provides a reliable data especially avoiding uncontrollable parameters. While several researches consider break up insensitive to the cleaning performance, this research investigates the experimental data obtained using PDA （phase doppler anemometry） which led to established variation in momentum across the spray width thus, non-uniformity of impact distribution. Comparative model was then developed using Ansys Fluent code, which verifies the eroded surfaces of material using the flat-fan atomizer to have shown variability in the extent of impact actions due to kinetic energy difference between the center and edge droplets. The study＇s findings could be useful in establishing the effect of droplet kinetic energies based on the spray penetration, and will also add significant understanding to the effect of the ligaments and droplets, along the spray penetration in order to ascertain their momentum impact distribution along the targeted surface.

PPA-SiO_2 catalyzed efficient synthesis of polyhydroquinoline derivatives through Hantzsch multicomponent condensation under solvent-free conditions

Silica gel-supported polyphosphoric acid （PPA-SiO2） was found to be an efficient catalyst for the one-pot four-component Hantzsch condensation reaction of aryl aldehydes, dimedone, ethyl acetoacetate and ammonium acetate to afford the corresponding polyhydroquinoline derivatives in high yields. The main advantages of the present approach are short reaction times, clean reaction profiles, simple experimental and workup procedures.

Objective: To evaluate different doses of ivermectin in adult patients with mild COVID-19 and to evaluate the effect of ivermectin on mortality and clinical ***: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical trial was performed at five hospitals. A total of 180 mild hospitalized patients with COVID-19 confirmed by PCR or chest image tests were enrolled and allocated to six arms including hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day, placebo plus hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day, single dose ivermectin(200 μg/kg), three low interval doses of ivermectin(200, 200, 200 μg/kg), single dose ivermectin(400 μg/kg), and three high interval doses of ivermectin(400, 200, 200 μg/kg). The primary endpoint of this trial was all-cause of mortality or clinical recovery. The radiographic findings, hospitalization and low O_2 saturation duration, and hematological variables of blood samples were analyzed. Results: A total of 16.7%(5/30) and 20.0%(6/30) patients died in arms treated with hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day and placebo plus hydroxychloroquine 200 mg twice per day, respectively, and a reduction in mortality rate in patients receiving ivermectin treatment to 0%, 10%, 0% and 3.3% for arms 1-4 were observed. Risk of mortality was also decreased about 15% in the ivermectin treated arms. Conclusions: Ivermectin as an adjunct reduces the rate of mortality, time of low O_2 saturation, and duration of hospitalization in adult COVID-19 patients. The improvement of other clinical parametersshows that ivermectin, with a wide margin of safety, had a high therapeutic effect on COVID-19.

A Simulation Approach for Screening of EOR Scenarios in Naturally Fractured Reservoirs

Undoubtedly, plenty of hydrocarbon sources are located in carbonate rocks, particularly those which are naturally fractured that is still needed to study their characterization, because of their complex and unconventional behavior. Therefore, applying any processes that cause Enhancing Oil Recovery (EOR) from Naturally Fractured Reservoirs (NFR) seems necessary and useful. However, selecting the best developed scenario is always challenging. Screening criteria would determine the possibility of implementing an EOR process. While, utilizing trade marketing simulators can solve this problem. Moreover, simulation can evaluate other parameters such as water cut and gas-oil ratio. In this research, an aquifer-supported Iranian NFR with two parts that are separated to each other with a shale layer is considered in order to select the best EOR scenario. The fluid model is created using PVTi software. Various production scenarios included natural depletion, water flooding, miscible carbon dioxide injection, water-alternating-gas (WAG) injection, simultaneous water- alternating-gas (SWAG) injection, hybrid injection, and gas recycling are simulated in ECLIPSE Compositional (E300) and their recovery factor recorded as the target parameter. The developed scenarios are designed in a way that gives the optimized results, i.e. higher recovery factor, less water cut as well as the less gas-oil ratio. As a result, SWAG shows better conditions and is recommended for the further studies of the reservoir management plan in the future. Also, the role of the aquifer in the SWAG scenario is positive by creating a natural WAG in addition to the SWAG. Additionally, the average reservoir pressure through fractures reduces less in the SWAG than the other Scenarios, the oil and gas production rate reduce less in the SWAG and SWAG/ miscible gas respectively than the other scenarios. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is among the most alarming pathogens affecting both humans and the global bovine industry. The current control measures in hospitals and on farms for MRSA have proven to be inadequate leaving a need for new rapid control methods to curb MRSA infections in situ. New control measures for bacterial infection are widely sought, with particular interest in the applications for bacteriophages (phages) as a biocontrol or therapeutic agent. The current study uses a wild highly lytic phage isolated from cow’s milk taken from three farms in Baghdad, Iraq. The resulting phage was able to rescue 100% of the mice from a median lethal dose (LD50) or (1 × 108 CFU mL-1 per mouse) for MRSA wild isolates achieved when the phage: bacteria ratio was 100:1. Even when treatment was delayed for 6 h post lethal infection, to the point where all mice were moribund, 80% of them were rescued by a single injection of this phage preparation. Based on the current results, a comprehensive study is needed to guide further research on the MRSA phage as a biocontrol for MRSA mastitis in dairy cows to replace or reduce the use of antibiotics in animal husbandry.
