On chaotic properties of new semidynamical systems of Lasota type in two spaces

The present study is concerned with construct two new semidynamical systems which are generated by two partial differential equations of Lasota type. In addition, this study discusses the asymptotic properties： Strong stability, exponential stability, periodic points, the density of periodic points, transitivity and chaos in two spaces： Lp space and Lp space.

Assessment of tear film parameters post-treatment with commercial eyelid cleaning wipes:a pilot study

AIM:To investigate the short-term effects of commercially available eyelid-cleaning wipes on film ***:This study enrolled 48 healthy participants aged 20-35y(both males and females).Clinical assessment included the Ocular Surface Disease Index(OSDI)questionnaire,non-invasive tear break-up time(NITBUT),tear meniscus height(TMH),and lipid layer pattern(LLP).Based on these initial results,participants were categorized as either non-dry eye or dry *** in each group were randomly allocated to either Blephaclean■or Systane■*** in NITBUT,TMH,and LLP levels before and after lid wipe treatment were ***:The dry eye group exhibited significantly higher OSDI scores and lower NITBUT and TMH levels than in the non-dry eye group(P0.05).Similarly,the LLP levels were significantly improved with Systane■(P<0.001)post-treatment compared to individuals in the non-dry eye ***,the dry eye subjects showed higher posttreatment LLP levels than the untreated group(P<0.02).CONCLUSION:The short-term effects of Systane®eyelid wipes on tear film parameters suggest their effectiveness in dry eye ***,further exploration of their long-term impact is essential to justify their cost effectiveness and efficacy in treating both aqueous deficiency and evaporative dryness.

The Effect of Dexamethasone versus Methylprednisolone in the Treatment of COVID-19 Patients in Jordan

Background: Previous studies focused on the treatment effect of steroids versus no steroids in treating severe COVID-19 patients, a few studies evaluated outcomes for treating those patients with either dexamethasone or methylprednisolone. Currently, we evaluate the difference in mortality associated with treating COVID-19 patients with dexamethasone versus methylprednisolone. Methods: With a retrospective multicenter study, records were reviewed for the admitted patients with severe COVID-19 during the peak of the severe COVID-19 pandemic. All admitted patients on dexamethasone or methylprednisolone were included. Patients were analyzed as all populations and propensity scores matched patients. Propensity scores were calculated for several confounders by the generalized linear model, and a “greedy” near-neighbor matching algorithm was used. Continuous variables with nonnormal distribution were analyzed by Wilcoxon signed rank test. Chi-squared and Fischer exact test analyzed categorical variables. P-values were adjusted by the Bonferroni method for both data cohorts. Body mass index was in categories. Radiological findings were divided into five categories. The outcomes: mortality, the need for home oxygen therapy, recovery, and residual symptoms on discharge were analyzed by an independent two-sample test for equality of proportions (with Yates correction), and logistic regression analysis. Results: Among the 1128 reviewed records, patients on dexamethasone or methylprednisolone were 1071, and the propensity score-matched patients were 784: dexamethasone 393 and methylprednisolone 391. There was no significant difference in the characteristics of patients between the two steroids (p-value and adjusted p-value > 0.05) for most variables. PSM adjusted a few discrepant variables before analysis. The outcome of the unmatched patients demonstrated dexamethasone benefit in the need for home oxygen therapy ( 0.05). 该临床研究的目的是通过双盲试验方法来评价高露洁全效加美白牙膏对牙齿的美白效果。与高露洁全效牙膏相比 ,在高露洁全效加美白牙膏的配方中加入了高效清洁二氧化硅磨料 (highcleaningsilica ,HCS)。受试者来自于加拿大安大略的Mis sissauga地区 ,入选时均接受牙齿外源性色斑的基线检查 ,符合临床试验方案要求的受试者按年龄、性别和牙齿颜色 (外源性 )随机分成两个治疗组。受试者用软毛牙刷每天早晚各一次 ,用指定的牙膏刷牙一分钟。 6周后每个受试者再接受一次牙龄外源性色斑检查。共有 93名受试者完成了整个研究。结果经统计学处理表明 :高露洁全效加美白牙膏与高露洁全效牙膏相比 ,在减少牙齿外源性色斑面积和降低牙齿外源性色斑深度上有显著的差异。
