This paper presents a comparative study on the thermal comfort of traditional and contemporary houses in Byblos,*** climate change affecting indoor environments and potentially leading to increased energy consumption,achieving optimal thermal comfort is a crucial issue for building *** study analyzes several environmental parameters and conducts an occupancy survey to assess thermal comfort in both types of *** questionnaire used in the survey consists of 46 questions divided into three parts:“Who are you?”,“The environment of your house?”,and“Architectural characteristics of the house.”The results show that traditional houses perform better than contemporary ones in terms of thermal comfort,due to their use of natural and passive ***,both types of houses have room for improvement in terms of energy *** study provides insights into potential solutions for improving indoor thermal comfort while reducing energy consumption in traditional and contemporary houses.

Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) is a nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithm that has gained popularity for solving optimization problems. In GWO, the success of the algorithm heavily relies on the efficient updating of the agents’ positions relative to the leader wolves. In this paper, we provide a brief overview of the Grey Wolf Optimization technique and its significance in solving complex optimization problems. Building upon the foundation of GWO, we introduce a novel technique for updating agents’ positions, which aims to enhance the algorithm’s effectiveness and efficiency. To evaluate the performance of our proposed approach, we conduct comprehensive experiments and compare the results with the original Grey Wolf Optimization technique. Our comparative analysis demonstrates that the proposed technique achieves superior optimization outcomes. These findings underscore the potential of our approach in addressing optimization challenges effectively and efficiently, making it a valuable contribution to the field of optimization algorithms.

Scleroderma is a rare disease with two primary forms: localized scleroderma (LS) and systemic sclerosis (SSc). Both are chronic conditions that can manifest in various patterns (subtypes) and are linked to extracutaneous involvement in pediatric patients. Juvenile SSc poses a higher risk of morbidity and mortality, with patients facing life-threatening complications such as lung, heart, and visceral organ fibrosis, and vasculopathy. In contrast, mortality is extremely rare in juvenile LS, but patients are susceptible to significant morbidity, leading to severe disfigurement and functional impairment. Treatment for scleroderma aims to control inflammation and address specific issues. An early diagnosis significantly enhances the overall outcome. This study conducts a retrospective descriptive analysis aiming to document the clinical manifestations, management approaches, and outcomes of systemic sclerosis in a cohort of nine children receiving treatment for juvenile systemic sclerosis at Pediatric B department of Mohammed VI University, Hospital Center in Marrakech, Morocco.

Prognostic Factors in Cardiorenal Syndrome Type 1: Retrospective Observational and Analytical Study

Introduction: Type 1 cardiorenal syndrome (CRS 1) is characterized by acute impairment of cardiac function leading to acute renal dysfunction. CRS1 is present in 25% of patients admitted for heart failure. The objective of our study is to analyze the epidemiological, clinical, therapeutic profile and the risk and prognostic factors of these patients. Materials and Methods: We identified 120 patients with cardiorenal syndrome (CRS) over a one-year period to determine the prevalence and risk factors for developing CRS 1. We analyzed the clinical, biological, and evolutionary profiles of patients with CRS 1 and determined the risk factors for the occurrence of acute kidney injury (AKI) as well as the mortality factors in these patients. Résultats: The average age of our patients with CRS1 is 58 ± 9 years, with a sex ratio of 1.4. The average eGFR of our patients is 35 ± 6.5 ml/min/1.73m2. Diabetes was found in 17% of our patients and hypertension in 14%. The etiology of cardiac impairment is predominantly acute coronary syndrome (ACS), followed by rhythm disorders. Renally, all our patients have acute kidney injury (AKI), with 86% having functional acute renal failure and 14% having acute tubular necrosis. Therapeutically, 50% of our patients are on diuretics, 42% receive beta-blocker treatment, and RAAS blockers are used in 29% of cases. Renal replacement therapy (RRT) sessions were required in 13.8% of cases. In univariate analysis, male gender, tachyarrhythmia, and hypertension are associated with the early onset of acute kidney injury (AKI). The use of diuretics, anemia, and low left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) are linked to a higher risk of developing CRS 1 (p = 0.021, p = 0.037, p = 0.010 respectively). In multivariate analysis, advanced age is significantly associated with increased mortality risk in CRS 1 patients (p = 0.030), while beta-blocker use is considered a protective factor (p = 0.014). General anesthesia and Obstetric Anesthesia is the gold standard for a cesarean section but there are some cases where general anesthesia is unavoidable. The use of general anesthesia for cesarean delivery has decreased in recent years due to the widespread use of neuraxial techniques. The choice of anesthesia techniques for cesarean delivery depends on several factors, including the patient’s psychology and the attending physician’s experience. It is chosen because of its safety profile and its benefits to the mother and fetus. It may be indicated due to emergency, maternal refusal of regional techniques, or regional contraindications. Major complications include failed intubation, gastric content aspiration, and increased bleeding risk. This study aims to evaluate the impact of a newly launched team on obstetric anesthesia practice.

Introduction: Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) is a malignant soft-tissue tumor arising from striated muscle cells. It accounts for 60% - 70% of malignant mesenchymal tumors and 5% of pediatric cancers. Two-thirds of these cancers are diagnosed in children under 6 years of age, with a slight male predominance. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective descriptive study of 10 cases of RMS collected in the pediatric hematology and oncology department of the Oujda university hospital, over a 5-year period, running from January 2018 to December 2022. Results: The median age at diagnosis was 3 years, with a sex ratio of 1. The mean time to diagnosis was 2 months. The most common site was the head and neck (50%), followed by the genitourinary tract (20%), the extremities (20%) and finally the abdomen (10%). The most frequent mode of discovery was a mass or swelling found in 90% of patients (all sites included), followed by exophthalmos in 30% of cases. At the diagnostic stage, CT scans were performed in 70% of cases and MRI in 5 patients (50%). Histological diagnosis was determined by immunohistochemical pathology in all our patients, with a predominance of embryonal (70%) versus alveolar (20%) and spindle cell types (10%). All patients underwent an extension workup, and a cervico-thoraco-abdominopelvic CT was performed in all patients (100%);MRI was performed in 2 patients (20%);lymph node involvement was present in 5 patients (50%). Metastases at the time of diagnosis were noted in only 1 patient (10%), who simultaneously presented with two metastatic sites;testicular and abdominal wall. Sixty percent of patients presented with advanced disease (high risk) and 40% with standard risk. Chemotherapy was used in all patients (100%), with upfront tumor resection performed in 40%. Fifty percent of patients received radiotherapy at a mean dose of 43 Gy, with the orbit the most frequently irradiated area (30%). All patients underwent CTscan and/or MRI and/or ultrasound surveillance.

The multi-robot systems(MRS)exploration and fire searching problem is an important application of mobile robots which require massive computation capability that exceeds the ability of traditional MRS′*** paper propose a cloud-based hybrid decentralized partially observable semi-Markov decision process(HDec-POSMDPs)*** proposed model is implemented for MRS exploration and fire searching application based on the Internet of things(IoT)cloud robotics *** this implementation the heavy and expensive computational tasks are offloaded to the cloud *** proposed model achieves a significant improvement in the computation burden of the whole task relative to a traditional *** proposed model is applied to explore and search for fire objects in an unknown environment;using different sets of robots *** preliminary evaluation of this implementation demonstrates that as the parallelism of computational instances increase the delay of new actuation commands which will be decreased,the mean time of task completion is decreased,the number of turns in the path from the start pose cells to the target cells is minimized and the energy consumption for each robot is reduced.

Prophylactic effect of vitamin E against hepatotoxicity,nephrotoxicity,haematological indices and histopathology induced by diazinon insecticide in mice

Considering that the involvement of reactive oxygen species （ROS） has been implicated in the toxicity of various pesticides, this study was designed to study the ameliorative effect of Vitamin E （100 mg/kg body weight） on mice （25 -30 mg） treated with diazinon （32.5 or 16.25 mg/kg body weight） organophosphate insecticide for 14 days. Subehronic DZN exposure and the protective effects of vitamins E （vitE） were evaluated for their effects on haematological indices, the enzymes concerning liver damage [plasma alanine aminotransferase （ ALT）, aspartate aminotaransferase （ AST）, alkaline phosphatise （ ALP）, and some parameters of kidney function （urea and creatinine） in mice. Additionally, the histopathological changes in liver and kidney tissue were examined. The high dose of diazinon （DZNH） decreased the body weight significantly at the end of experiment. Additionally, the liver and kidney were examines for histopathological changes. The high dose of diazinon decreased body weight significandy. Moreover, there was a statistically significant decrease in haemoglobin （Hb）, red blood cell （RBC） and hematocrit （Hct） in diazinon-treated mice compared to controls. This decrease was partially remedied in the diazinon-treated group that also received vitE. Damage in the liver and kidney tissues was also evident as elevated plasma ALT, AST, ALP, urea and creatinine. VitE partially counteracts the toxic effect of DZN and repairs tissue damage in the liver and kidney, especially when supplemented to 1/4 LD50 intoxicated animals. Histopathological changes in liver and kidney were observed only in 32.5 mg/kg DZN given group. These results suggest that the effects of DZN are dose dependent. No pathological findings were observed in vitE ＋ DZNtreated groups. According to the present study, we conclude that vitE ean reduce the detrimental impacts of diazinon on haematological indicies, as well as liver and kidney function [ Current Zoology 55 （3）： 219 - 226, 2009].

Radial Hahn Moment Invariants for 2D and 3D Image Recognition

Recently, orthogonal moments have become efficient tools for two-dimensional and three-dimensional（2D and 3D） image not only in pattern recognition, image vision, but also in image processing and applications engineering. Yet, there is still a major difficulty in 3D rotation invariants. In this paper, we propose new sets of invariants for 2D and 3D rotation, scaling and translation based on orthogonal radial Hahn moments. We also present theoretical mathematics to derive them. Thus, this paper introduces in the first case new 2D radial Hahn moments based on polar representation of an object by one-dimensional orthogonal discrete Hahn polynomials, and a circular function. In the second case, we present new 3D radial Hahn moments using a spherical representation of volumetric image by one-dimensional orthogonal discrete Hahn polynomials and a spherical function. Further 2D and 3D invariants are derived from the proposed 2D and 3D radial Hahn moments respectively, which appear as the third case. In order to test the proposed approach, we have resolved three issues： the image reconstruction, the invariance of rotation, scaling and translation, and the pattern recognition. The result of experiments show that the Hahn moments have done better than the Krawtchouk moments, with and without noise. Simultaneously, the mentioned reconstruction converges quickly to the original image using 2D and 3D radial Hahn moments, and the test images are clearly recognized from a set of images that are available in COIL-20 database for 2D image, and Princeton shape benchmark（PSB） database for 3D image.
