Gene disruption technology has long been beneficial for the study of male reproductive biology. However, because of the time and cost involved, this technology was not a viable method except in specialist laboratories. The advent of the CRISPR/Cas9 system ofgene disruption has ushered in a new era of genetic investigation. Now, it is possible to generate gene-disrupted mouse models in very tittle time and at very little cost. 1his Highlight article discusses the application of this technology to study the genetics of male fertility and looks at some of the future uses of this system that could be used to reveal the essential and nonessential genetic components of male reproductive mechanisms.

The new antiepileptic drugs perampanel,retigabine,rufinamide and stiripentol have been recently approved for different epilepsy *** them an innovation in the antiepileptics armamentarium,a lot of investigations regarding their pharmacological properties are yet to be ***,considering their broad anticonvulsant activities,an extension of their therapeutic indications may be worthy of investigation,especially regarding other seizure types as well as other central nervous system *** different liquid chromatographic(LC)methods coupled with ultraviolet,fluorescence,mass or tandem-mass spectrometry detection have already been developed for the determination of perampanel,retigabine,rufinamide and stiripentol,new and more cost-effective methods are yet ***,this review summarizes the main analytical aspects regarding the liquid chromatographic methods developed for the analysis of perampanel,retigabine(and its main active metabolite),rufinamide and stiripentol in biological samples and pharmaceutical dosage ***,the physicochemical and stability properties of the target compounds will also be ***,this review gathers,for the first time,important background information on LC methods that have been developed and applied for the determination of perampanel,retigabine,rufinamide and stiripentol,which should be considered as a starting point if new(bio)analytical techniques are aimed to be implemented for these drugs.

Colorectal adenocarcinoma （CRC） is the third most common type of cancer and the fourth most frequent cause of death due to cancer worldwide. Given the natural history of CRC, early diagnosis appears to be the most appropriate tool to reduce disease-related mortality. A field of recent interest is clinical proteomics, which was reported to lead to high sensitivity and specificities for early detection of several solid tumors. This emerging field uses mass spectrometry-based protein profiles/patterns of easy accessible body fluids to distinguish cancer from non-cancer patients. These discrepancies may be a result of：（i） proteins being abnormally produced or shed and added to the serum proteome, （2） proteins clipped or modified as a consequence of the disease process, or （3） proteins subtracted from the proteome owing to disease-related proteolytic degradation pathways. Therefore, protein pattern diagnostics would provide easy and reliable tools for detection of cancer. This paper focuses on the current status of clinical proteomics research in oncology and in colorectal cancer especially, and will reflect on pitfalls and fears in this relatively new area of clinical medicine, which are reproducibility issues and pre-analytical factors, statistical issues, and identification and nature of discriminating proteins/peptides.

Citrofortunella microcarpa locally known as“kalamansi”belongs to the family Rutaceae is one of the most important marketable fruit crops grown in the *** from being a fruit crop,the plant also houses various endophytic microorganisms which exhibit various symbiotic ***,this study isolated fungal endophytes from *** stem and leaves and were identified culturally and *** identities of the fungal species were confirmed using ITS1 and ITS4 *** identified fungal endophytes were tested for their ability to produce fungal enzymes such as amylase,cellulase,laccase and *** 11 fungal endophytes were isolated from stem and leaves of *** namely,Colletotrichum fructicola,Colletorichum gloeosporioides,Colletotrichum siamense,Fusarium oxysporum,Lasiodiplodia theobromae,Nigrospora oryzae,Nigrospora rubi,Nodulisporium indicum,Phomopsis azadirachtae,Phyllosticta capitalensis,and an unidentified species under the Order *** the identified endophytic fungal species showed production of *** the cellulose assay,four species namely ***,***,***,and the unidentified species had potential for cellulose *** oxysporum and *** were found to be producers of ***,only the unidentified species showed extracellular protease activity.

When operating an equipment or a power system at the high voltage, problems associated with partial discharge （PD） can be tracked down to electromagnetic emission, acoustic emission or chemical reactions such as the formation of ozone and nitrous oxide gases. The high voltage equipment and high voltage installation owners have come to terms with the need for conditions monitoring the^process of PD in the equipments such as power transformers, gas insulated substations （GIS）, and cable installations. This paper reviews the available PD detection methods （involving high voltage equipment） such as electrical detection, chemical detection, acoustic detection, and optical detection. Advantages and disadvantages of each method have been explored and compared. The review suggests that optical detection techniques provide many advantages in the consideration of accuracy and suitability for the applications when compared to other techniques.

Objective:To describe high resolution manometry features of a population of symptomatic- patients with Chagas’ disease esophagopathy(CDE).Methods:Sixteen symptomatic dysphagic patients with CDE[mean age(54.81±13.43) years,10 women]were included in this *** patients underwent a high resolution ***:Mean lower esophageal sphincter(LES) extension was(3.02±1.17) cm with a mean basal pressure of(15.25±7.00) *** pressure was(14.31±9.19) *** was found in all 16 *** with minimal esophageal pressurization(type I) was present in 25%of patients and achalasia with esophageal compression(type 2) in 75%,according to the Chicago *** esophageal sphincter(UES) mean basal pressure was(97.96±54.22) mmHg with a residual pressure of(12.95±6.42) ***:Our results show that LES was hypotensive or normotensive in the majority of the *** relaxation was found in a minority of our *** was seen in 100%of *** had impaired relaxation in a significant number of patients. Further clinical study is needed to investigate whether manometric features can predict outcomes following the studies of idiopathic achalasia..

Moderate grazing by cattle increases the heterogeneity of soil and vegetation. This has been suggested as an ecologically sustainable mean of managing natural environments endangered by tree encroachment, such as heathlands. Our study was performed to test the impact of grazing intensity on soil macroinvertebrate communities in heterogeneous landscapes in a private property eligible to the Natura 2000 European Network of Special Protection Areas within the Brenne Natural Regional Park （Indre, ~rance）. We sampled macroinvertebrates along a broken line crossing 5 different land-use types, from pasture to pine forest, passing through a besom heath （Erica scoparia） heathland at 3 levels of cattle pressure. We hypothesized that： i） litter-dwelling （mostly arthropods and mollusks） and soil-dwelling macroinvertebrates （mostly earthworms） would respond in an opposite manner to various grazing intensities, and ii） intermediate cattle pressure （pastured heath） would increase soil and community heterogeneity. The results supported the first hypothesis, which was explained by land-use impacts mediated by soil properties. However, our results supported only partly the second hypothesis since maximum dissimilarity （whether in the composition of soil macroinvertebrate communities or in soil features） was observed in only one out of the two pastured heaths where cattle pressure was intermediate.

Angiogenesis is the proliferation of new blood vessels that enable the normal embryonic development and may also induce growth of numerous pathologies like tumor growth and cancer *** assays were used for both pro and anti-angiogenic *** study evaluated the angiosuppressive activity of Pleurotus florida on the developing chick embryo using chorioallantoic membrane(Cam)assay and used destructive sampling into four different treatment concentrations and a *** result revealed a decrease in the number of blood vessels branch points formed after 24,48,and 72 hours at higher treatment concentrations(0.50%and 1%).Statistical analysis showed that 24 hours and 48 hours of exposure to various concentrations have no significant ***,after 72 hours of exposure,the mean blood vessel branch points formed showed a significant difference among the treatment means between the highest concentration of ***(1%)and the control treatment(sterile water).In terms of the percentage of angiosuppressive activity of *** with the greatest angiogenic effect,which was the 1%*** treatment concentration possesses 35.69%and 36.85%angiosuppressive rate after 48 and 72 hours of exposure ***,this study showed that *** lyophilized hot water extract exhibits angiosuppressive activity on the developing chick embryo using chorioallantoic membrane assay and is concentration and time exposure dependent.

The last decade has been notable for increasing high-quality research and dramatic improvement in outcomes with dynamic liver *** evidence from numerous randomized controlled trials has been pooled by meta-analyses,providing the highest available evidence on the protective effect of machine perfusion(MP)over static cold storage in liver transplantation(LT).Based on a protective effect with less complications and improved graft survival,the field has seen a paradigm shift in organ *** editorial focuses on the role of MP in LT and how it could become the new“gold standard”.Strong collaborative efforts are needed to explore its effects on long-term outcomes.
