Three recent global agreements have been established to facilitate the implementation of global-level responsibilities to deal with disaster risk reduction(DRR),human development,and climate change adaptation(CCA)*** these agreements have a common goal of reducing social,economic,and environmental vulnerability,they have been developed by largely independent communities of *** has limited cross-fertilization despite the inherent multidimensional nature of global challenges and the considerable thematic *** argue that developing a transdisciplinary strategy that effectively integrates disciplines,approaches,and knowledge systems will lead to greater and more sustainable impacts,together with a more efficient use of financial *** approaches should be encouraged during planning of future development efforts so that risk reduction is conducted simultaneously with *** processes are central to generating contextsensitive knowledge to support decisions on CCA and DRR options that minimize trade-offs and maximize synergies and complementarities required to guide sustainable development ***,building codes together with climate and risk-smart research,education,and awareness raising,are identified as priority entry points to materialize the blending of DRR and CCA approaches and effectively reduce risk while mitigating and adapting to climate change.

The focus of the Hazus earthquake model has been largely U.S. centric due to a lack of standardized building-infrastructure data formats applicable *** a combined effort between FEMA Region VIII and the Universidad de Los Andes, Venezuela, the present study uses the Hazus 2.1 software to simulate earthquake loss estimations for Venezuela. Population totals and demographic distributions were developed using Oak Ridge National Labs Landscan 2008 population data and the census 2011 for Venezuela. The accuracy of the model was further enhanced for Me′rida State, located in western Venezuela, by collecting, incorporating, and developing region and specific inventories including soil maps, liquefaction and landslide susceptibility studies, demographic data, and building inventory information. We used USGS Shake Maps scenarios for two potential earthquake events with peak ground accelerations proposed within Performance Based Seismic Engineering of Buildings, VISION 2000 recommendations. The region has not witnessed an earthquake with a magnitude greater than M 7 in the last120 years. Given the historical record of seismicity and the seismotectonics in the region, it becomes increasingly important to understand the potential implications from moderate to large earthquakes in Me′rida State, Venezuela.

In this paper, the generation and control of turbulences in a wind tunnel, for design, analysis and testing of test objects are proposed. Modifications to the wind tunnel are made in order to generate the turbulences in the test chamber. Specifically, for the turbulence analysis, the reflective symmetry concept is used in order to group the different turbulences cases generated in the wind tunnel test chamber. The Ansys software is used in order to model and analyze the wind tunnel. Specific platform or module known as Fluent is used for the analysis of the turbulence generated in the wind tunnel. To design proposal of a wind tunnel capable to generate and controlling turbulences is exposed in this paper. For this, the controller design and verification are performed by means of simulations. To obtain the control law structure, the inversion concept is used. The proposed control law is validated via a co-simulation implemented in the Simplorer module, with the aim of combining the power electronics part, controller and engine, with the proposed model wind tunnel.

We suggest a mathematical route which has the capability to obtain quantitative information of solid residues on a substrate of aluminum, in which the evaporation of the deposited micro-drops has the form of coffee rings. In this job, the glycine aminoacid was used as probe molecule. We suppose that the number of moles present on the study sample is proportional to the Raman signal and to the experimental parameters of the used Raman system. Then, the mass and the number of molecules can be determined with these data. We showed that the mathematical expression is simple and elegant for its implementation. On the other hand, we have applied and demonstrated that the technique of principal component analysis (PCA) can be used to obtain quantitative information of the sample. Our results show quantitative analysis of glycine residues between 10-11 to 10-15 g.

Objective:To detect Dientamoeba(D.)fragilis and Enterocytozoon(E.)bieneusi and to assess their genetic characteristics in stool samples submitted for routine examination in a clinical laboratory in Southeastern ***:In this survey,348 stool samples from female and male individuals with age ranging from 0 to≥55 years were analyzed by PCR amplifying and sequencing based on the small subunit ribosomal RNA(SSU r RNA)gene of *** and the internal transcribed spacer of ***:*** and *** isolates were observed in 2.29%(8/348)and 4.59%(16/348)of the samples,*** parasites were detected in stool samples from individuals of both genders,including young children under nine until adults over 55 years *** statistically significant differences were *** *** isolates were classified as genotype 1 and *** isolates included genotypes D(n=15)and A(n=1).Conclusions:The findings provide relevant findings on occurrence and genetic diversity of *** and ***,pointing to the need for the diagnosis of these parasites in routine examinations in clinical *** addition to sensitive diagnostic methods,it is mandatory that these parasites be considered relevant for physicians and laboratory staff.

In this paper a stochastic boundary element method (SEEM) is developed to analyze moderately thick plates with random material parameters and random thickness. Based on the Taylor series expansion, the boundary integration equations concerning the mean and deviation of the generalized displacements are derived, respectively. It is found that the randomness of material parameters is equivalent to a random load, so the mean and covariance matrices of unknown generalized boundary displacements and tractions can be obtained. Furthermore, the mean and covariance of generalized displacements and forces at internal points can also be obtained. A numerical example has been worked out with the method proposed and necessary analysis is made for the results.

A field experiment was conducted using a split plot randomized complete block design with three replications to study the effects of potassium (K) and phosphorus (P) application on sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) growth at the New Developmental Research Farm of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Agricultural University in Peshawar,*** levels of K (0,25,50,75,100 and 125 kg K ha-1) were main plots while four levels of P (0,45,90 and 135 kg P ha-1) were *** in both K and P levels enhanced grain oil concentration of *** in P level increased grain protein concentration,while increase in K level decreased grain protein *** oil and protein yields increased significantly with increase in K and P *** increase in oil and protein yields of sunflower was mainly attributed to the improvement in yield components (grains per head,grain weight and head size) and the significant increase in grain *** highest net returns of 297 and 368 US$ ha-1 based on grain and oil yields,respectively,were obtained from a combination of 100 kg K ha-1 + 45 kg P ha-1.
