We present a method to fabricate handcrafted thermoelectric devices on standard office paper *** devices are based on thin films of WS_(2),Te,and BP(P-type semiconductors)and TiS_(3)and TiS_(2)(N-type semiconductors),deposited by simply rubbing powder of these materials against *** thermoelectric properties of these semiconducting films revealed maximum Seebeck coefficients of(+1.32±0.27)mV K^(-1)and(-0.82±0.15)mV K^(-1)for WS_(2)and TiS_(3),***,Peltier elements were fabricated by interconnecting the P-and N-type films with graphite electrodes.A thermopower value up to 6.11 mV K^(-1)was obtained when the Peltier element were constructed with three *** findings of this work show proof-of-concept devices to illustrate the potential application of semiconducting van der Waals materials in future thermoelectric power generation as well as temperature sensing for low-cost disposable electronic devices.

The current spotlight of cancer therapeutics is shifting towards personalized medicine with the widespread use of monoclonal antibodies(mAbs).Despite their increasing potential,mAbs have an intrinsic limitation related to their inability to cross cell membranes and reach intracellular *** offers promising solutions to overcome this limitation,however,formulation challenges *** challenges are the limited loading capacity(often insufficient to achieve clinical dosing),the complex formulation methods,and the insufficient characterization of mAb-loaded ***,we present a new nanocarrier consisting of hyaluronic acid-based nanoassemblies(HANAs)specifically designed to entrap mAbs with a high efficiency and an outstanding loading capacity(50%,w/w).HANAs composed by an mAb,modified HA and phosphatidylcholine(PC)resulted in sizes of~100 nm and neutral surface *** modeling identified the principal factors governing the high affinity of mAbs with the amphiphilic HA and *** composition and structural configuration were analyzed using the orthogonal techniques cryogenic transmission electron microscopy(cryo-TEM),asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation(AF4),and small-angle X-ray scattering(SAXS).These techniques provided evidence of the formation of core-shell nanostructures comprising an aqueous core surrounded by a bilayer consisting of phospholipids and amphiphilic *** vitro experiments in cancer cell lines and macrophages confirmed HANAs’low toxicity and ability to transport mAbs to the intracellular *** reproducibility of this assembling process at industrial-scale batch sizes and the long-term stability was *** conclusion,these results underscore the suitability of HANAs technology to load and deliver biologicals,which holds promise for future clinical translation.

Background In patients with ST segment elevated myocardial infarction (STEMI) , early post thrombolysis routine angioplasty has been discouraged because of i ts association with high incidence of events. The GRACIA 1 trial was designed t o reassess the benefits of an early postthrombolysis interventional approach in the era of stents and new antiplatelet agents. Methods 500 patients with thrombo lysed STEMI (with recombinant tissue plasminogen activator) were randomly assign ed to angiography and intervention if indicated within 24 h of thrombolysis, or to an ischaemia guided conservative approach. The primary endpoint was the comb ined rate of death, reinfarction, or revascularisation at 12 months. Analysis wa s by intention to treat. Findings Invasive treatment included stenting of the cu lprit artery in 80%(199 of 248) patients, bypass surgery in six (2%), non cul prit artery stenting in three, and no intervention in 40 (16%). Predischarge re vascularisation was needed in 51 of 252 patients in the conservative group. By c omparison with patients receiving conservative treatment, by 1 year, patients in the invasive group had lower frequency of primary endpoint (23 [9%] vs 51 [ 21 %], risk ratio 0.44 [95%CI 0.28-0.70], p=0.0008), and they tended to have red uced rate of death or reinfarction (7%vs 12%, 0.59 [0.33-1.05], p=0.07). In de x time in hospital was shorter in the invasive group, with no differences in maj or bleeding or vascular complications. At 30 days both groups had a similar inci dence of cardiac events. In hospital incidence of revascularisation induced by spontaneous recurrence of ischaemia was higher in patients in the conservative g roup than in those in the invasive group. Interpretation In patients with STEMI, early post thrombolysis catheterisation and appropriate intervention is safe a nd might be preferable to a conservative strategy since it reduces the need for unplanned in hospital revascularisation, and improves 1-year clinical outcome.

MODELING HEADCUT DEVELOPMENT AND MIGRATION IN UPLAND CONCENTRATED FLOWS

On hillslopes and agricultural fields, discrete areas of intense, localized soil erosion commonly take place in the form of migrating headcuts. These erosional features significantly increase soil loss and landscape degradation, yet the unsteady, transient, and migratory habits of headcuts complicate their phenomenological and erosional characterization. Here a unique experimental facility was constructed to examine actively migrating headcuts typical of upland concentrated flows. Essential components of the facility include a deep soil cavity with external drainage, rainfall simulator, capacity for overland flow, and a video recording technique for data collection. Results from these experiments show that: (1) after a short period of adjustment, headcut migration attained a steady-state condition, where the rate of migration, scour hole geometry, and sediment discharge remain constant with time; (2) boundary conditions of higher rates of overland flow, steeper bed slopes, and larger initial headcut heights produced systematically larger scour holes with higher rates of soil erosion; and (3) during migration, the turbulent flow structure within the scour hole remained unchanged, consisting of an overfall nappe at the brink transitioning into a reattached wall jet with two recirculation eddies within the plunge pool. The systematic behavior of headcut development and migration enabled the application of modified jet impingement theory to predict with good success the characteristics of the impinging jet, the depth of maximum scour, the rate of headcut migration, and the rate of sediment erosion. These laboratory data and the analytical formulation can be used in conjunction with soil erosion prediction technology to improve the management of agricultural areas impacted by headcut development and ephemeral gully erosion.

Elenoside increases intestinal motility

AIM： TO study the effects of elenoside, an arylnaphthalene lignan from justicia hyssopifolia, on gastrointestinal motility in vivo and in vitro in rats. METHODS： Routine in vivo experimental assessments were catharsis index, water percentage of boluses, intestinal transit, and codeine antagonism. The groups included were vehicle control （propylene glycol-ethanolplant oil-tween 80）, elenoside （i.p. 25 and 50 mg/kg）, cisapride （i.p. 10 mg/kg）, and codeine phosphate （intragastric route, 50 mg/kg）. In v/tro approaches used isolated rat intestinal tissues （duodenum, j.j.num, and ileum）. The effects of elenoside at concentrations of 3.2 ×10^4, 6.4 ×10^4 and 1.2 ×10^3 mol/L, and cisapride at 10^6 mol/L were investigated. RESULTS： Elenoside in vivo produced an increase in the catharsis index and water percentage of boluses and in the percentage of distance traveled by a suspension of activated charcoal. Codeine phosphate antagonized the effect of 25 mg/kg of elenoside. In vitro, elenoside in duodenum, j.j.num and ileum produced an initial decrease in the contraction force followed by an increase. Elenoslde resulted in decreased intestinal frequency in duodenum, j.j.num, and ileum. The in vitro and in vivo effects of elenoside were similar to those produced by cisapride. CONCLUSION： Elenoside is a lignan with an action similar to that of purgative and prokinetics drugs. Elenoside, could be an alternative to cisapride in treatment of gastrointestinal diseases as well as a preventive therapy for the undesirable gastrointestinal effects produced by opioids used for mild to moderate pain.

Micromechanical investigation of granular ratcheting using a discrete model of polygonal particles

We use a two-dimensional model of polygonal particles to investigate granular ratcheting. Ratcheting is a long-term response of granular materials under cyclic loading, where the same amount of permanent deformation is accumulated after each cycle. We report on ratcheting for low frequencies and extremely small loading amplitudes. The evolution of the sub-network of sliding contacts allows us to understand the micromechanics of ratcheting. We show that the contact network evolves almost periodically under cyclic loading as the sub-network of the sliding contacts reaches different stages of anisotropy in each cycle. Sliding contacts lead to a monotonic accumulation of permanent deformation per cycle in each particle. The distribution of these deformations appears to be correlated in form of vortices inside the granular assembly.

3D printing of ABS *** of processing and effects of multi-wall and single-wall carbon nanotubes on thermal,mechanical and electrical properties

The following paper reports on a comparative study of the effects of two types of carbon nanotubes,namely multiwall(MWCNT)and single-wall(SWCNT)carbon nanotube,on the properties of 3D-printed parts produced with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene(ABS)nanocomposites with various CNT loadings of5-10 wt.%.Quasi-static tensile properties and Vicat softening temperature of 3D-printed parts were enhanced with the increasing CNT *** highest enhancement in tensile properties was observed for the ABS/CNT nanocomposites at 10 wt.%filler loading.3D-printed ABS/SWCNT composites showed higher tensile modulus,better creep stability and higher Vicat ***,the strength of ABS/SWCNT 3D samples is relatively lower than that of ABS/*** addition,3D-printed parts exhibited anisotropic electrical conductive behaviour,which has a conductivity of through-layer of about2-3 orders of magnitude higher than *** highest conductivity of 3D-printed samples reached25.2 S/m,and 9.3 S/m for ABS/MWCNT and ABS/SWCNT composites at 10 wt.%,*** results obtained,*** successful fuse filament fabrication and the consequent electromechanical properties,confirm that these 3D printable nanocomposite could be properly utilized for the production,and application up to about 90°C,of thermoelectric devices and/or resistors for flexible circuits.

In this paper we give necessary and sufficient conditions for a comodule magma over a weak Hopf quasigroup to have a total integral,thus extending the theories developed in the Hopf algebra,weak Hopf algebra and non-associative Hopf algebra *** this result we also deduce a version of Maschke’s theorems for right(H,B)-Hopf triples associated to a weak Hopf quasigroup H and a right H-comodule magma B.

In this paper we obtain a criterion under which the bijectivity of the canonical morphism of a weak Galois extension associated to a weak invertible entwining structure is equivalent to the existence of a strong connection form. Also we obtain an explicit formula for a strong connection under equivariant projective conditions or under coseparability conditions.
