The pathophysiology of giant cerebral aneurysms renders them difficult to *** in technology have attempted to address any shortcomings associated with open surgery or endovascular *** the introduction of the flow diversion technique,the endovascular approach with flow diversion has become the first-line modality chosen to treat giant aneurysms.A subset of these giant aneurysms may persistent despite any treatment *** the best option for these recurrent and/or persistent giant aneurysms is to employ a multimodal approach-both surgical and endovascular-rather than any single technique to provide a curative result with favourable patient *** paper provides a review of the histopathology and treatment options for giant cerebral ***,an illustrative case is presented to highlight the unique challenges of a curative solution for giant cerebral aneurysms that persist despite initial treatment.

In this study,two series of foams based on tannic acid(TA),furfuryl alcohol(FA),soybean protein isolate(sPI),and casein(CA),namely TA–FA–sPI(Ts series)and TA–FA–CA(TC series)were developed,and their properties were enhanced by adding poplar fibers(WF).From the samples produced,a complete set of characterization was performed including possible crosslinking reactions,morphology,mechanical properties,flame retardancy,thermal insulation and thermal ***-transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)revealed possible covalent crosslinking among the components and hydrogen bonding between WF and the *** results indicated that lower prepolymer viscosity led to lower apparent density,while WF addition reduced even more the *** tests showed that the maximum compressive strengths were good,while WF improved the compressive strength by up to 56%.scanning electron microscopy(sEM)showed uniform cell structures,but small open pores were ***-dimensional(2D)CT scan images confirmed the good compatibility between WF and the matrix,with low anisotropy in the *** tests indicated that WF decreased the pulverization ratio of the materials by up to 42%.Thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)showed good thermal stability of the materials up to 328°*** burning tests showed that the materials were self-extinguishing without residue(dripping).The lowest thermal conductivity was 0.04 W/m·*** results suggest that these novel formaldehyde-free,high biomass content(95%–96%)foams and composite foams have high potential to replace traditional phenolic foams(PF)in applications such as construction,transportation,packaging,and thermal insulation.

The removal of arsenic from water is essential for the protection of public health. To investigate the adsorption capabilities of laterite, sandstone, and shale for the removal of arsenic from aqueous solutions, column experiments were conducted. In this study, raw materials and heat-treated (calcined) materials were examined. The experiments assessed the influence of various parameters, including initial concentration, bed depth, and the effects of heat treatment. The findings revealed that the breakthrough curves were influenced by the initial concentration of arsenic, the depth of the bed, and the type of material used. For an initial arsenic concentration of 5 mg/L, columns containing 85 cm of calcined laterite, sandstone, and shale produced volumes of 7460 ml (1492 min), 3510 ml (702 min), and 4400 ml (880 min) of water with arsenic levels below 0.01 mg/L, respectively. These calcined materials demonstrate significant potential for the effective removal of arsenic from water.

AIM:To report the incidence of epiretinal membrane(ERM)formation following panretinal photocoagulation(PRP)as the treatment for diabetic retinopathy(DR).METHODs:Retrospective cross-sectional study of patient charts between January 1st,2010 to January 1st,2017 with at least 1y follow-up *** 809 patients treated with PRP for DR were evaluated for exclusion criteria and 73 eyes remained after exclusion for confounding variables related to ERM formation such as other procedures or *** were determined through medical record review and masked review of optical coherence tomography(OCT)***’s kappa was completed to determine if there was an agreement between masked retinal specialists on OCT *** logistic regression was used to determine the unadjusted odds ratio for patient and procedural characteristics on the formation of *** logistic regression was then completed on select variables that met the cutoff of 0.25 for a statistically significant contribution by the Wald test with the sequential addition of clinical variables that contributed positively to the ***:Among the 73 eyes studied,9.6%formed an ERM with an average time to formation of *** minimum power uses during PRP was found to be statistically significant between non-ERM formers and ERM formers(P=0.044).When adjusting for all selected variables aside from minimum power used,multiple logistic regression determined that for every 10 mW increase in minimum power used during PRP,there is an increase in log odds of 1.009(sE:0.003,P=0.014).CONCLUsION:The incidence of ERM formation in 2y following treatment of DR with PRP is roughly 1 in every 10 eyes treated.

Objective: Adolescent reproduction health (ARH) differs greatly based on religions, religious norms, culture, and ethnicities in the Indonesian context. The value of local wisdom was considered too binding, traditional, and outdated, particularly on ARH in agricultural areas. The purpose of the study was to identify the problems, challenges, and needs, specifically for ARH, in the agricultural area of Indonesia. Methods: A qualitative study was performed among 41 communities, including 28 village officials (VOs), 9 community health volunteers (CHVs), and 9 adolescents. The data were collected through in-depth interviews and FGD. An thematic analysis was used to describe the phenomena. Results: This research obtained results regarding ARH in terms of communication patterns, daily behavior, reproductive practices, and hygiene of adolescent reproductive organs, especially in agricultural areas. Conclusions: The differences in the perspective of ARH are influenced by environment, parental roles, religion, ethnicity, and knowledge.

The role of fecal microbial transplant(FMT) in the treatment of pediatric gastrointestinal disease has become increasingly popular among pediatric practitioners, patients, and parents. The success of FMT for the treatment of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection(RCDI) has bolstered interest in its potential application to other disease states, such as inflammatory bowel disease(IBD). FMT has particular interest in pediatrics, given the concerns of patients and parents about rates of adverse events with existing therapeutic options, and the greater cumulative medication burden associated with childhoodonset disease. Published literature on the use of FMT in pediatrics is sparse. Only 45 pediatric patients treated for RCDI have been reported, and only 27 pediatric patients with pediatric IBD. The pediatric microbiome may uniquely respond to microbial-based therapies. This review will provide a comprehensive overview of fecal microbial transplant and its potential role in the treatment of pediatric inflammatory bowel disease. We will discuss the microbiome in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease, existing adult and pediatric literature on the use of FMT in IBD treatment, and pediatric FMT trials that are currently recruiting patients. This review will also discuss features of the microbiome that may be associated with host response in fecal transplant, and potential challenges and opportunities for the future of FMT in pediatric IBD treatment.

Despite their biodegradability and economic advantage, plant leaves used as packaging can constitute a public health problem. The aim of this study was to characterize the microbial diversity contaminating plant leaves used as food packaging. In total, two hundred and forty (240) samples composed of Thaumatococcus daniellii and Musa paradisiaca leaves were collected and analyzed. Microbial diversity was assessed using specific medium and biochemical tests. The resistance profile was determined by the Müeller-Hinton agar diffusion method. The resistance (blasHV, blaIMP, blaTEM) and biofilm formation (pslA, pelA) genes were searched by PCR method. Plant leaves were contaminated by bacterial (68.7%) and fungal (100%) strains. Extreme bacterial (7.1 log10 cfu/cm2) and fungal (3.5 log10 cfu/cm2) loads were obtained on Thaumatococcus daniellii leaves. Bacterial prevalence was 45.1% (s. aureus), 38.8% (E. coli) and 16.1 (P. aeruginosa). In order of decreasing importance, the prevalence of fungal species was 41.1% (A. flavus), 33.1% (A. fumigattus), 13.7% (A. niger) and 12.1% Candida sp. Resistance of E. coli to penicillins ranges from 31.6% to 87.3% and to cephalosporins from 13.3% to 28%. The P. aeruginosa strains were mainly resistant to aztreonam (87.6%). Those of s. aureus showed resistance to tetracycline (67.6), vancomycin (53), erythromycin (44.6) and levofloxacin (32.7). The blasHV (14.28% to 18.60%) and blaIMP (9.52% to 16.28%) genes were detected in the bacterial strains. P. aeruginosa strains (19.05%) harbored the pslA and pelA genes. The health safety of these biodegradable plant-based packaging contributes to their valorization.
