Complement-dependent neuroinflammation in spinal cord injury:from pathology to therapeutic implications

Spinal cord injury remains a major cause of disability in young adults,and beyond acute decompression and rehabilitation,there are no pharmacological treatments to limit the progression of injury and optimize recovery in this *** the thorough investigation of the complement system in triggering and propagating cerebral neuroinflammation,a similar role for complement in spinal neuroinflammation is a focus of ongoing *** this work,we survey the current literature investigating the role of complement in spinal cord injury including the sources of complement proteins,triggers of complement activation,and role of effector functions in the *** study relevant data demonstrating the different triggers of complement activation after spinal cord injury including direct binding to cellular debris,and or activation via antibody binding to damage-associated molecular *** effector functions of complement have been implicated in spinal cord injury,and we critically evaluate recent studies on the dual role of complement anaphylatoxins in spinal cord injury while emphasizing the lack of pathophysiological understanding of the role of opsonins in spinal cord *** this pathophysiological review,we systematically review the different translational approaches used in preclinical models of spinal cord injury and discuss the challenges for future translation into human *** review emphasizes the need for future studies to dissect the roles of different complement pathways in the pathology of spinal cord injury,to evaluate the phases of involvement of opsonins and anaphylatoxins,and to study the role of complement in white matter degeneration and regeneration using translational strategies to supplement genetic models.

The electrical impedance, AC conductivity and dielectric properties of phenol red compound investigated and modeled by an artificial neural network

The impedance spectroscopy,electrical conductivity and electric modulus of bulk phenol red were measured,as a function of both frequency and *** neural networks(ANNs)were used for modeling its electrical *** two parts(real and imaginary)of its complex impedance(Z^*)were analyzed and the activation energy related to the electrical relaxation process was *** curves were plotted showing semicircles for the different *** AC electrical conductivity follows a power lawσac(ω)αω^η.The maximum barrier height Bm was derived for specific temperatures.A plausible mechanism for the AC conduction of bulk phenol red was deduced from the temperature reliance of the frequency *** dielectric data was analyzed using electric modulus as a *** addition,ANNs were used to model the impedance parts and the total electrical *** runs were tried,to obtain the best *** training and prediction results were compared to the equivalent experimental results,with a good match *** equation describing the experimental results was obtained mathematically,based on the use of *** outputs demonstrated that ANNs are an admirable tool for modeling experimental results.

In order to improve performance and robustness of clustering,it is proposed to generate and aggregate a number of primary clusters via clustering ensemble *** clustering ensemble approaches attempt to improve the performance of fuzzy clustering ***,in these approaches,cluster(or clustering)reliability has not paid much attention *** cluster(or clustering)reliability makes these approaches weak in dealing with low-quality base clustering *** this paper,we have utilized cluster unreliability estimation and local weighting strategy to propose a new fuzzy clustering ensemble method which has introduced Reliability Based weighted co-association matrix Fuzzy C-means(RBFCm),Reliability Based Graph Partitioning(RBGP)and Reliability Based Hyper Clustering(RBHC)as three new fuzzy clustering consensus *** fuzzy clustering ensemble approach works based on fuzzy cluster unreliability *** unreliability is estimated according to an entropic criterion using the cluster labels in the entire *** do so,the new metric is dened to estimate the fuzzy cluster unreliability;then,the reliability value of any cluster is determined using a Reliability driven Cluster Indicator(RdCI).The time complexities of RBHC and RBGP are linearly proportional with thnumber of data *** and robustness of the proposed method are experimentally evaluated for some benchmark *** experimental results demonstrate efciency and suitability of the proposed method.

mineralogy, geochemistry and age dating of shear zone-hosted Nb-Ta-, Zr-Hf-, Th-, U-bearing granitic rocks in the Ghadir and El-Sella areas, South Eastern desert, Egypt

The rare metal minerals of mineralized altered granites within the Ghadir and El-Sella shear zones, are represented by betafite, U-minerals (uraninite and uranophane), zircon, monazite, xenotime, and rutile in the Ghadir shear zone. While they are columbite-tantalite minerals as ferrocolumbite, pyrochlore, and fergusonite, Th-minerals (cheralite, uranothorite, and huttonite monazite), Hf-zircon, monazite and xenotime in the El-Sella shear zone. Hf-zircon in the El-Sella and Ghadir shear zones (increasing from the core to the rim) contains high inclusions of U-Th, and REE minerals such as cheralite, uranothorite, huttonite monazite and xenotime especially in the El Sella shear zone. The rare-metal minerals, identified from peralkminous granites of the shear zones are associated with muscovite, quartz, chlorite, fluorite, magnetite, and biotite that are restricted to the two shear zones. Uraninite (low Th content) occurring in the Ghadir shear zone indicates the hydrothermal origin, but there are thorite, uranothorite, cheralite, and Hf-zircon in the El Sella shear zone, also indicating the hyrothermal proccess after magmatic origin. Compositional variations of Ta/(Ta+Nb) and mn/(mn+Fe) in columbite from 0.07-0.42 and 0.04-0.33, respectively, and Hf contents in zircon are so high as to be 12%, especially in the rim in the El Sella shear zone. This feature re-flects the extreme degree of magmatic fractionation. Four samples from the altered granites of the Ghadir shear zone also are very low in TiO2 (0.04 wt%-0.17 wt%), Sr [(82-121)×10-6], and Ba [(36-380)×10-6], but high in Fe2O3T (0.46 wt%-0.68 wt%), CaO (0.64 wt%-1.23 wt%), alkalis (8.59 wt%-8.88 wt%), Rb [(11-203)×10-6], Zr [(98-121)×10-6], Nb [(9-276)×10-6], Ta [(2-139)×10-6], U [(14-63)×10-6], Th [(16-105)×10-6], Pb [(13-32)×10-6], Zn [(7-8)×10-6], Y [(15-138)×10-6], Hf [(3-9)×10-6], and ∑REE [(81-395)×10-6, especially LREE [(70-322)×10-6]. They are very high in Zr/Hf (15.07-85.96) and Nb/Ta (7.17-21.48), and low

New ordered mAX phase mo_2 TiAlC_2: Elastic and electronic properties from first-principles

First-principles computation on the basis of density functional theory(dFT) is executed with the CASTEP code to explore the structural, elastic, and electronic properties along with debye temperature and theoretical Vickers’ hardness of newly discovered ordered mAX phase carbide mo2TiAlC2. The computed structural parameters are very reasonable compared with the experimental results. The mechanical stability is verified by using the computed elastic constants. The brittleness of the compound is indicated by both the Poisson’s and Pugh’s ratios. The new mAX phase is capable of resisting the pressure and tension and also has the clear directional bonding between atoms. The compound shows significant elastic anisotropy. The debye temperature estimated from elastic moduli(B, G) is found to be 413.6 K. The electronic structure indicates that the bonding nature of mo2TiAlC2is a mixture of covalent and metallic with few ionic characters. The electron charge density map shows a strong directional mo–C–mo covalent bonding associated with a relatively weak Ti–C *** calculated Fermi surface is due to the low-dispersive mo 4d-like bands, which makes the compound a conductive *** hardness of the compound is also evaluated and a high value of 9.01 GPa is an indication of its strong covalent bonding.

Casimir wormholes inspired by electric charge in Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet gravity

This investigation assesses the feasibility of a traversable wormhole by examining the energy densities associated with charged Casimir phenomena. We focus on the influence of the electromagnetic field created by an electric charge as well as the negative energy density arising from the Casimir source. We have developed different shape functions by defining energy densities from this combination. This paper explores various configurations of Casimir energy densities, specifically those occurring between parallel plates, cylinders and spheres positioned at specified distances from each other. Furthermore, the impact of the generalized uncertainty principle correction is also examined. The behavior of wormhole conditions is evaluated based on the Gauss–Bonnet coupled parameter(μ) and electric charge(Q) through the electromagnetic energy density constraint. This is attributed to the fact that the electromagnetic field satisfies the characteristic ρ =-pr. Subsequently, we examine the active gravitational mass of the generated wormhole geometries and explore the behavior of μ and Q concerning active mass. The embedding representations for all formulated shape functions are examined. Investigations of the complexity factor of the charged Casimir wormhole have demonstrated that the values of the complexity factor consistently fall within a particular range in all scenarios. Finally, using the generalized Tolman–Oppenheimer–Volkoff equation, we examine the stability of the resulting charged Casimir wormhole solutions.

This study employs a semi-analytical approach,called Optimal Homotopy Asymptotic method(Oham),to analyze a coronavirus(COVId-19)transmission model of fractional *** proposed method employs Caputo’s fractional derivatives and Reimann-Liouville fractional integral sense to solve the underlying *** the best of our knowledge,this work presents the first application of an optimal homotopy asymptotic scheme for better estimation of the future dynamics of the COVId-19 *** proposed fractional-order scheme for the parameterized model is based on the available number of infected cases from January 21 to January 28,2020,in Wuhan City of *** the considered real-time data,the basic reproduction number is R0≈2.48293 that is quite *** proposed fractional-order scheme for solving the COVId-19 fractional-order model possesses some salient features like producing closed-form semi-analytical solutions,fast convergence and non-dependence on the discretization of the *** graphical presentations have demonstrated the dynamical behaviors of subpopulations involved in the underlying fractional COVId-19 *** successful application of the scheme presented in this work reveals new horizons of its application to several other fractional-order epidemiological models.
