Experimental and numerical study of effecting core configurations on the static and dynamic behavior of honeycomb plate with aluminum material

The sandwich panel incorporated a honeycomb core,a widely utilized composite structure recognized as a fundamental classification of composite *** a core resembling a honeycomb,possessing thickness and softness,and is flank by rigid face sheets that sandwich various shapes and *** paper presents an examination of the static and dynamic analysis of lightweight plates made of aluminum honeycomb sandwich *** sandwich plate samples are 300 mm long,and 300 mm wide,the heights of the core have been varied at four values ranging from 10 to 25 *** honeycomb core is manufactured from Aluminum material by using a novel technique namely resistance spot welding(RSW)instead of using adhesive material,which is often used when an industrial flaw is *** optimization based on response surface methodology(RSM)and design of experiment software(DOE)was used to verify the current work.A theoretical examination of the crashworthiness behavior(maximum bending load,maximum deflection)and vibration attributes(natural frequency,damping ratio,transient temporal response)of honeycomb sandwich panels with different design parameters was also carried *** addition,the finite element method-based ANSYS software was used to confirm the theoretical *** findings of the present work showed that the relationship between the natural frequency,core height,and cell size is *** contrast,the relationship between the natural frequency and the thickness of the cell wall is ***,the damping ratio is inversely proportional to the core height and cell size but directly proportional to the thickness of the cell *** study indicates that altering the core height within 10-25 mm leads to a significant increase of 82%in the natural frequency and a notable decrease of 49%in the damping *** findings are based on a specific cell size value of 0.01 m and a cell wall thickness of 0.001 ***,the results indicate

The simulation of industry-scale reactive bulks is challenging due to the complex interaction between fluid and *** particles in the bulk and their interaction with the fluid flow can be described by combined Discrete element Method-Computational Fluid Dynamics(DEM-CFD)***,the computational cost of the Finite Volume(FV)methods deployed in these models can become prohibi-tively expensive,especially for high inner-particle *** particle Reduced Models(RMs)can be used to achieve both fast and accurate descriptions of the processes in each *** an example of bulk systems comprising heat and mass transfer,we compared FV and RM simulations for the drying of wood chips in a bulk reactor.A manifold-based nonlinear interpolation was applied to resolve changing boundary conditions for the *** simulations showed that RMs provide accurate values for the thermodynamic state variables of the ***,the time required for the bulk simulation was reduced by 67%with the *** is evident that simulations with high inner-particle resolution can be accelerated by RMs if manifold-based nonlinear interpolation is used to address changing boundary conditions.

Hybrid Model of Power Transformer Fault Classification Using C-set and MFCM – MCSVM

This paper aims to increase the diagnosis accuracy of the fault classification of power transformers by introducing a new off-line hybrid model based on a combination subset of the et method(C-set)&modified fuzzy C-mean algorithm(MFCM)and the optimizable multiclass-SVM(MCSVM).The innovation in this paper is shown in terms of solving the predicaments of outliers,boundary proportion,and unequal data existing in both traditional and intelligence *** into consideration the closeness of dissolved gas analysis(DGA)data,the C-set method is implemented to subset the DGA data samples based on their type of faults within unrepeated ***,the MFCM is used for removing outliers from DGA samples by combining highly similar data for every subset within the same cluster to obtain the optimized training data(OTD)*** is also used to minimize dimensionality of DGA samples and the uncertainty of transformer condition *** that,the optimized MCSVM is trained by using the(OTD).The proposed model diagnosis accuracy is 93.3%.The obtained results indicate that our model significantly improves the fault identification accuracy in power transformers when compared with other conventional and intelligence models.

The Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)is a swarm intelligence metaheuristic inspired by the bubble-net hunting tactic of humpback *** spite of its popularity due to simplicity,ease of implementation,and a limited number of parameters,WOA’s search strategy can adversely affect the convergence and equilibrium between exploration and exploitation in complex *** address this limitation,we propose a new algorithm called Multi-trial Vector-based Whale Optimization Algorithm(MTV-WOA)that incorporates a Balancing Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(BS_TVP),a Local Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(LS_TVP),and a Global Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(GS_TVP)to address real-world optimization problems of varied degrees of ***-WOA has the potential to enhance exploitation and exploration,reduce the probability of being stranded in local optima,and preserve the equilibrium between exploration and *** the purpose of evaluating the proposed algorithm's performance,it is compared to eight metaheuristic algorithms utilizing CEC 2018 test ***,MTV-WOA is compared with well-stablished,recent,and WOA variant *** experimental results demonstrate that MTV-WOA surpasses comparative algorithms in terms of the accuracy of the solutions and convergence ***,we conducted the Friedman test to assess the gained results statistically and observed that MTV-WOA significantly outperforms comparative ***,we solved five engineering design problems to demonstrate the practicality of *** results indicate that the proposed MTV-WOA can efficiently address the complexities of engineering challenges and provide superior solutions that are superior to those of other algorithms.

Modeling displacement flow inside a full-length casing string for well cementing

While computer modeling of annular displacement efficiency is widely applied in cementing engineering,modeling the displacement flow inside a casing or drill string for cementing operations has received less *** predicting displacement efficiency inside a full-length pipe is desired by cementing engineers,the attempt of developing a model with both efficiency and accuracy faces *** to computer simulators for this purpose is *** with annular flow,the displacement flow inside pipe,although within a simpler geometry and without eccentricity effect,is not simpler in physics,modelling strategy and predictability,because a variety of flow patterns and flow instabilities can develop to create complicated fluid *** this paper,we present an integrated numerical model developed to simulate displacement flows inside a full-length pipe,which connects an existing annulus model to enable complete displacement simulations of cementing *** model uses three-dimensional grid to solve fluid concentrations with degrees of mixing,and incorporates flow instability detection and flow regime *** in cementing,the model accounts for effects of pumping rate,well inclination,pipe rotation,fluid densities,rheological parameters and *** computationally efficient model does not rely on high-resolution mesh as often required by conventional Computational Fluid Dynamics models,thus it is suitable to be implemented in a cementing software for daily use by well cementing *** methodology of the model is discussed in detail in this *** validate the model,we examine simulation results against experimental results obtained in our laboratory tests and CFD simulations;acceptable agreement is found under different testing *** also presented two case studies of real cementing jobs with cement evaluation logs compared to simulation results,showing that the model can predict consistent displacement efficie

Robust Machine Learning Mapping of sEMG Signals to Future Actuator Commands in Biomechatronic Devices

A machine learning model for regression of interrupted Surface electromyography(sEMG)signals to future control-oriented signals(e.g.,robot’s joint angle and assistive torque)of an active biomechatronic device for high-level myoelectric-based hierarchical control is proposed.A Recurrent Neural Network(RNN)was trained using output data,initially obtained from offline optimization of the biomechatronic(human–robot)device and shifted by the prediction *** input of the RNN consisted of interrupted sEMG signals(to mimic signal disconnections)and previous kinematic signals of the assistive *** RNN with a 0.1-s prediction horizon could predict the control-oriented joint angle and assistive torque with 92%and 86.5%regression accuracy,respectively,for the test *** proposed approach permits a fast,predictive,and direct estimation of control-oriented signals instead of an iterative process that optimizes assistive torque in the inverse dynamic simulation of a multibody human–robot *** with these interrupted input signals significantly improves the regression accuracy in the case of sEMG signal *** Robust Predictive Control-oriented Machine Learning(Robust-MuscleNET)model can support volitional high-level myoelectric-based control of biomechatronic devices,such as exoskeletons,prostheses,and assistive/resistive *** work should study the application to prosthesis control as well as the repeatability of the high-level controller with electrode *** low-level hierarchical controller that manages the human–robot interaction,the assistance/resistance strategy,and the actuator coordination should also be studied.

Failure characterization of fully grouted rock bolts under triaxial testing

Confining stresses serve as a pivotal determinant in shaping the behavior of grouted rock ***,prior investigations have oversimplified the three-dimensional stress state,primarily assuming hydrostatic stress *** these conditions,it is assumed that the intermediate principal stress(σ_(2))equals the minimum principal stress(σ_(3)).This assumption overlooks the potential variations in magnitudes of in situ stress conditions along all three directions near an underground opening where a rock bolt is *** this study,a series of push tests was meticulously conducted under triaxial *** tests involved applying non-uniform confining stresses(σ_(2)≠σ_(3))to cubic specimens,aiming to unveil the previously overlooked influence of intermediate principal stresses on the strength properties of rock *** results show that as the confining stresses increase from zero to higher levels,the pre-failure behavior changes from linear to nonlinear forms,resulting in an increase in initial stiffness from 2.08 kN/mm to 32.51 kN/*** load-displacement curves further illuminate distinct post-failure behavior at elevated levels of confining stresses,characterized by enhanced ***,the peak load capacity ranged from 27.9 kN to 46.5 kN as confining stresses advanced from σ_(2)=σ_(3)=0 to σ_(2)=20 MPa and σ_(3)=10 ***,the outcomes highlight an influence of confining stress on the lateral deformation of *** levels of confinement prompt overall dilation in lateral deformation,while higher confinements maintain a state of ***,diverse failure modes have been identified,intricately tied to the arrangement of confining *** confinements tend to induce a splitting mode of failure,whereas higher loads bring about a shift towards a pure interfacial shear-off and shear-crushed failure mechanism.

The Hesar pluton in the northern Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc hosts numerous mafic-microgranular enclaves(MMEs).Whole rock geochemistry,mineral chemistry,zircon U-Pb and Sr-Nd isotopes were *** is suggested that the rocks are metaluminous(A/CNK=1.32-1.45),subduction-related I-type calc-alkaline gabbro to diorite with similar mineral assemblages and geochemical *** host rocks yielded an U-Pb crystallization age of 37.3±0.4 Ma for *** have relatively low SiO_(2) contents(52.9-56.6 wt%)and high Mg^(#)(49.8-58.7),probably reflecting a mantle-derived ***-and mantle-normalized trace element patterns are characterized by LREE and LILE enrichment,HREE and HFSE depletion with slight negative Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu^(*)=0.86-1.03).The host rocks yield(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)_(i) ratios of 0.70492-0.70510,positive ε_(Nd)(t)values of+1.55-+2.06 and T_(DM2)of 707-736 Ma,which is consistent with the associated mafic microgranular enclaves((^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)_(i)=0.705014,ε_(Nd)(t)=+1.75,T_(DM2)=729 Ma).All data suggest magma-mixing for enclave and host rock formation,showing a complete equilibration between mixed-mafic and felsic magmas,followed by rapid *** T_(DM1)(Nd)and T_(DM2)(Nd)model ages and U-Pb dating indicate that the host pluton was produced by partial melting of the lower continental crust and subsequent mixing with injected lithospheric mantlederived magmas in a pre-collisional setting of Arabian-Eurasian *** composition indicates a crystallization temperature of~1000℃ and a depth of~9 km.
