The goals of this study are to assess the viability of waste tire-derived char(WTDC)as a sustainable,low-cost fine aggregate surrogate material for asphalt mixtures and to develop the statistically coupled neural network(SCNN)model for predicting volumetric and Marshall properties of asphalt mixtures modified with *** study is based on experimental data acquired from laboratory volumetric and Marshall properties testing on WTDCmodified asphalt mixtures(WTDC-MAM).The input variables comprised waste tire char content and asphalt binder *** output variables comprised mixture unit weight,total voids,voids filled with asphalt,Marshall stability,and *** coupled neural networks were utilized to predict the volumetric and Marshall properties of asphalt *** predictive modeling,the SCNN model is employed,incorporating a three-layer neural network and preprocessing techniques to enhance accuracy and *** optimal network architecture,using the collected dataset,was a 2:6:5 structure,and the neural network was trained with 60%of the data,whereas the other 20%was used for cross-validation and testing *** network employed a hyperbolic tangent(tanh)activation function and a feed-forward *** to the results,the network model could accurately predict the volumetric and Marshall *** predicted accuracy of SCNN was found to be as high value>98%and low prediction errors for both volumetric and Marshall *** study demonstrates WTDC's potential as a low-cost,sustainable aggregate *** SCNN-based predictive model proves its efficiency and versatility and promotes sustainable practices.

Automated screening of primary cell-based aptamers for targeting and therapy of pancreatic cancer

Although it has been developed for many years, nucleic acid aptamer screening technology still fails to be widely used, a considerable part of it is due to the variability of tumor cell morphology, which leads to the use of immortalized cell lines in the laboratory to screen nucleic acid aptamers for recognition ability of tumor cells in the diseased *** address this, primary cells that can be stably passaged were isolated and extracted from spontaneous tumors of genetically engineered pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma model mice in this ***, an automated screening instrument for nucleic acid aptamers developed autonomously by our group was used to perform efficient aptamer screening using a limited number of cells, and the obtained nucleic acid aptamers were affinity verified at the cellular ***, to answer the question of the cell growth environment difference on the recognition ability of nucleic acid aptamers, we verified its targeting ability to tumors in vivo on a nude mice xenograft tumor model, and further used a common antitumor drug doxorubicin combined with nucleic acid aptamers to verify the drug loading ability of this aptamer combined with the targeting therapeutic ability.

The multi-Fano interference,which is obtained through the simultaneous acquisition of bright and dark states in different phase transitions of Eu3+:BiPO4(7:1,6:1,1:1,and 0.5:1)and Eu3+:NaYF4(1:1/4)crystals,were reported in this *** spontaneous four-wave mixing and multidressed fluorescence(multiorder)were adopted to optimize the strong photon–phonon nested dressing effect,which results in more obvious multi-Fano ***,the multi-Fano is produced through interference in continuous and multibound ***,five multi-Fano dips are originated from the nested five dressings(one photon and four phonons)under symmetrical splitting of 7F1 energy *** is found that the pure H-phase(0.5:1)sample exhibits the strongest photon–phonon dressed effect(five Fano dips).Further,high-order non-Hermitian exceptional points in multi-Fano interference were investigated by adjusting the ratio of Rabi frequency to dephase rate through nested photon and phonon *** experimental results are validated by theoretical simulations,which may be applied to designing optoelectronic devices such as non-Hermitian multi-Fano interferences(multichannel)router.

Improving structures involves comparing old and new designs on a key *** the percent change in performance is a method to *** paper proposes a cost-effective analogy by generating replicas of additive manufactured aluminum alloy(Al Si10Mg)body-centered cubic lattice(BCC)based turbine blade(T106C)with the same in poly-lactic acid(PLA)material and their comparison in the context of percent change for natural ***,a cavity is created inside the turbine blade(hollow blade).Natural frequencies are obtained experimentally and numerically by incorporating BCC at 50%and 80%of the cavity length into the hollow blade for both *** cost of manufacturing the metal blades is 90%more than that of the PLA *** two material blade designs show a similar percentage variation,as the first-order mode enhancs more than 5%and the second-order mode more than 4%.To observe the behavior in another material,both blades are analyzed numerically with a nickel-based U-500 material,and the same result is achieved,describing that percent change between designs can be verified using the PLA material.

The recent progress on the liquid crystalline(LC)dispersion of two-dimensional(2D)transition metal carbides(MXenes)has propelled this unique nanomaterial into a realm of high-performance architectures,such as films and ***ally,compared to architectures made from typical non-LC dispersions,those derived from LC MXene possess tunable ion transport routes and enhanced conductivity and physical properties,demonstrating great potential for a wide range of applications,such as electronic displays,smart glasses,and thermal camouflage *** review provides an overview of the progress achieved in the production and processing of LC MXenes,including critical discussions on satisfying the required conditions for LC *** also highlights how acquiring LC MXenes has broadened the current solution-based manufacturing paradigm of MXene-based architectures,resulting in unprecedented performances in their conventional applications(e.g.,energy storage and strain sensing)and in their emerging uses(e.g.,tribology).Opportunities for innovation and foreseen challenges are also discussed,offering future research directions on how to further benefit from the exciting potential of LC MXenes with the aim of promoting their widespread use in designing and manufacturing advanced materials and applications.

Machine-Learning-Assisted Design of Deep Eutectic Solvents Based on Uncovered Hydrogen Bond Patterns

Non-ionic deep eutectic solvents(DESs)are non-ionic designer solvents with various applications in catalysis,extraction,carbon capture,and ***,discovering new DES candidates is challenging due to a lack of efficient tools that accurately predict DES *** search for DES relies heavily on intuition or trial-and-error processes,leading to low success rates or missed *** that hydrogen bonds(HBs)play a central role in DES formation,we aim to identify HB features that distinguish DES from non-DES systems and use them to develop machine learning(ML)models to discover new DES *** first analyze the HB properties of 38 known DES and 111 known non-DES systems using their molecular dynamics(MD)simulation *** analysis reveals that DES systems have two unique features compared to non-DES systems:The DESs have①more imbalance between the numbers of the two intra-component HBs and②more and stronger inter-component *** on these results,we develop 30 ML models using ten algorithms and three types of HB-based *** model performance is first benchmarked using the average and minimal receiver operating characteristic(ROC)-area under the curve(AUC)*** also analyze the importance of individual features in the models,and the results are consistent with the simulation-based statistical ***,we validate the models using the experimental data of 34 *** extra trees forest model outperforms the other models in the validation,with an ROC-AUC of *** work illustrates the importance of HBs in DES formation and shows the potential of ML in discovering new DESs.

Outcome of percutaneous reconstruction of chronic lateral collateral ligament rupture

Purpose:Many techniques have been described for the reconstruction of chronic lateral collateral ligament(LCL)rupture with different autograft *** advantages of percutaneous LCL reconstruction include small incisions,minimal soft tissue disruption,less postoperative pain,and speedy rehabilitation and *** aim of this study was to report the functional outcome of percutaneous LCL reconstruction and overall patient satisfaction in ***:This prospective and interventional study involving 51 patients with chronic LCL rupture who had percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft was conducted between January 2021 and December 2022 in National Orthopaedic Hospital,Dala-Kano,*** inclusion criteria were patients between the ages of 18 and 45 years with chronic isolated LCL and not more than 1 injury of knee *** criteria were active infection,and multi-ligament knee injury requiring 2-staged *** knee functions were assessed preoperatively,3 months,6 months,and 12 months postoperatively using the Lysholm scoring *** satisfaction with the outcome of the treatment was assessed using a 5-point Likert *** information was recorded into Microsoft Excel sheet and data was analyzed using SPSS version 23.0 for *** paired samples t-test was used to compare the clinical outcomes as continuous *** significance was considered at p<***:The mean age of the patients was(30.10±5.90)*** median time from injury to surgery was 7 months(ranging from 3 to 28 months).The mean follow-up period was(14.07±3.13)*** mean preoperative and 1-year postoperative Lysholm scores were 44.33±12.97 and 97.96±1.23,***:Percutaneous LCL reconstruction using peroneus longus autograft significantly improves patient knee function and results in excellent patient satisfaction。

Investigation of Groundwater Quality with Borehole Depth in the Basin Granitoids of the Ashanti Region of Ghana

The dependence of groundwater quality on borehole depth is usually debatable in groundwater studies, especially in complex geological formations where aquifer characteristics vary spatially with depth. This study therefore seeks to investigate the relationship between borehole depth and groundwater quality across the granitoid aquifers within the Birimian Supergroup in the Ashanti Region. Physicochemical analysis records of groundwater quality data were collected from 23 boreholes of public and private institutions in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, and the parametric values of iron, fluoride, total hardness, pH, nitrate, and nitrite were used to study the groundwater quality-depth relationship. The results showed that the depth-to-groundwater quality indicated a marginal increase in water quality in the range of 30 to 50 m, which is mathematically represented by the low-value correlation coefficient (r2 = 0.026). A relatively significant increase occurs in the depth range of 50 to 80 m, which is given by a correlation coefficient of r2 = 0.298. The mean percent parameter compatibility was 74%, 82%, 89%, and 97% at 50, 60, 70, and 80 m depths, respectively. The variations in groundwater quality per depth ratio ranged from 1.48, 1.37, 1.27, and 1.21 for 50, 60, 70, and 80 m depth, respectively. The recommended minimum borehole depth for excellent groundwater quality is suggested with a compatibility per meter depth ratio of 1.37. This results in a range between 50 and 70 m as the most desirable drilling depth for excellent groundwater quality within the granitoids of the Birimian Supergroup of the Ashanti Region in Ghana.

选用3种规格的T300碳纤维制备3种不同孔径大小的三向织物（Triaxial woven fabric，TWF）树脂基复合材料对混凝土进行加固。使用3D-DIC技术获取三维位移场和应变场，直观反映试样表面织物的膨胀脱落和不同纱线应变扩展的演化过程。结果表明：碳纤维三向织物复合材料在压缩时，三向织物的孔径越小，约束效果越显著。与未约束的混凝土相比，TWF-24k的峰值载荷提升了38.7%TWF-12k提高了41.2%，TWF-6k提高了49.9%。在孔隙率一定时，小孔径TWF更大程度地提升了混凝土的抗压强度和延性；TWF-6k试样的应变-时间曲线变化趋势更加一致，试样内部的应力分布更均匀。结合3D-DIC技术获取从加载到破坏整个时间序列的位移场和应变场演化规律，结果表明：TWF-6k相比于TWF-12k和TWF-24k经纬纱均提供了约束作用，均匀分担轴向压缩力和径向拉伸力，具有最好的约束效果。
