The optimum delivery of safeguarding substances is a major part of supply chain management and a crucial issue in the mitigation against the outbreak of pandemics.A problem arises for a decision maker who wants to optimally choose a subset of candidate consumers to maximize the distributed quantities of the needed safeguarding substances within a specic time period.A nonlinear binary mathematical programming model for the problem is *** decision variables are binary ones that represent whether to choose a specic consumer,and design constraints are formulated to keep track of the chosen *** better illustrate the problem,objective,and problem constraints,a real application case study is *** case study involves the optimum delivery of safeguarding substances to several hospitals in the Al-Gharbia Governorate in *** hospitals are selected to represent the consumers of safeguarding substances,as they are the rst crucial frontline for mitigation against a pandemic outbreak.A distribution truck is used to distribute the substances from the main store to the hospitals in specied required quantities during a given working *** objective function is formulated in order to maximize the total amount of delivered quantities during the specied time *** case study is solved using a novel Discrete Binary Gaining Sharing Knowledge-based Optimization algorithm(DBGSK),which involves two main stages:discrete binary junior and senior gaining and sharing *** has the ability of nding the solutions of the introduced problem,and the obtained results demonstrate robustness and convergence toward the optimal solutions.

As no complete and comprehensive studies have been previously reported for La-doped nanocrystalline SrZrO_(3)(SZO),we researched herein a detailed investigation for pure and La-doped samples.A modified solid-state reaction process,including successive cycles of milling and sintering at high temperature,was followed to produce SZO and Sr_(0.9)La_(0.1)ZrO_(3)(SLZO)powdered *** analysis of X-ray diffractometer data predicts that the two samples exhibit orthorhombic structure with an increase in crystallite size by~25%for doped sample.A great reduction in Raman modes intensity(~60%)and an annihilation of several vibration modes were detected using Raman *** degree of ordering on the B-site was recorded to be higher in La-doped *** to ultraviolet-visible(UV-Vis)absorption,a decrease in the optical gap width(E_(g))from 4.40 eV to 4.21 eV was achieved by La incorporation due to the presence of additional defect states such as oxygen and Sr vacancies at the band *** process of electron-hole recombination was studied using photoluminescence(PL)*** of PL spectra yielded four emission bands:one green band,one blue band,and two violet *** intense violet emission atλ=393 nm approximately five times greater than that detected for pure SZO is realized as La^(3+)substitutes for Sr^(2+).Such property nominates SLZO for technological applications requiring highly intense violet emission,e.g.,light-emitting diodes.

Commercial airline companies are continuously seeking to implement strategies for minimizing costs of fuel for their flight routes as acquiring jet fuel represents a significant part of operating and managing expenses for airline activities.A nonlinear mixed binary mathematical programming model for the airline fuel task is presented to minimize the total cost of refueling in an entire flight route *** model is enhanced to include possible discounts in fuel prices,which are performed by adding dummy variables and some restrictive constraints,or by fitting a suitable distribution function that relates prices to purchased *** obtained fuel plan explains exactly the amounts of fuel in gallons to be purchased from each airport considering tankering strategy while minimizing the pertinent cost of the whole flight *** relation between the amount of extra burnt fuel taken through tinkering strategy and the total flight time is also considered.A case study is introduced for a certain flight rotation in domestic US air transport *** mathematical model including stepped discounted fuel prices is *** problem has a stochastic nature as the total flight time is a random variable,the stochastic nature of the problem is realistic and more appropriate than the deterministic *** stochastic style of the problem is simulated by introducing a suitable probability distribution for the flight time duration and generating enough number of runs to mimic the probabilistic real *** similar real application problems are modelled as nonlinear mixed binary ones that are difficult to handle by exact ***,metaheuristic approaches are widely used in treating such different optimization *** this paper,a gaining sharing knowledge-based procedure is used to handle the mathematical *** algorithm basically based on the process of gaining and sharing knowledge throughout the human *** generated simulation runs of

Using Facebook to Develop Grammar Discussion and Writing Skills in English as a Foreign Language for University Students

This study aimed at investigating the effect of Facebook on grammar discussion and writing skill in English as a foreign language for university students, The study sample consisted of 60 students at Oklt AI Sqoor College of Science and Arts in Saudi Arabia and was divided into two groups： 30 students for the experimental group and 30 students for the control group. The instrument of the study was an EFL grammar and writing test. Students in both the experimental and the control group were pre-tested using the EFL （English as a Foreign Language） grammar and writing test, After that the experimental group was taught using Facebook while the control group was taught using the traditional method. Finally, students in both groups were post-tested using the EFL grammar and writing test. Results of the study showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group in the post-test of EFL grammar and writing. This difference can be attributed to using Facebook.

Web Quest and EFL Critical Reading and Writing

This study aimed at investigating the effect of using a Web Quest program on developing some EFL critical reading and writing skills of the first year experimental secondary school students. The participants of the study were 60 students from one of the Experimental Secondary Schools in Egypt. Instruments of the study were EFL critical reading and writing tests. Students in both the experimental and the control groups were pre-tested using the critical reading test and the writing test. Then, students of the experimental group were using Web Quest. Finally, students in both groups were post-tested using the same instruments. The study showed that there was statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the pre and the post critical reading test and writing test of the experimental group in favor of the post tests. This difference can be attributed to using Web Quest.

Climate Change Awareness and Perception amongst the Inhabitants of Muscat Governorate, Oman

Public awareness and knowledge on climate change constitute essential background to deal with climate change and related problems. Alongside this background, this study assesses the awareness and quality of knowledge regarding climate change in Muscat governorate, Oman. A survey of 350 randomly sampled respondents was conducted using a standard questionnaire. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. This questionnaire was administered to respondents who were evenly distributed among the six divisions (Wilayat) of Muscat governorate in Oman while descriptive statistics were the main analysis techniques. Results have revealed that public awareness is fairly high despite some limitations on the knowledge on the causes and prevention of climate change. Regression analysis finds that gender, years of education, and income are significant factors that determine the level of awareness. Climate change is an area that is in need of publicity to help the public make informed decisions in its adaptation and mitigation. Results further indicate that most of the respondents have fair general knowledge about the subject.

Production of porous Ni-Ti alloy and test of its biocompatibility under in-vivo conditions

Biomaterials have been out of commonly used materials in biomedical applications in recent years. Today among the mostly-used biocompatible metals are especially Ni-Ti alloys. For conducting this study, having extensive usage area in biomedical applications, Ni and Ti materials were utilized for an alloy production. Following being mixed using a suitable mixer at 49Ni/51Ti %wt., the alloy was exposed to cold pressure of 200 MPa and sintered in a mold. In addition, the material gained porosity appearance thanks to usage of the synthesized (SHS) method and then the final shape of the specimen was taken using the method of wire electro erosion discharge machining (WEDM). Afterwards, the specimen was subjected to the biocompatibility test in in-vivo environment by means of on a 3-year-old female dog.

团头鲂、鳡及其杂交F1代的形态差异与系统发育研究

利用不同亚科的雌性团头鲂(Megalobrama amblycephala)和雄性鳡(Elopichthys bambusa)进行人工杂交获得子一代杂交个体,对团头鲂、鳡及其杂交子代的形态特征进行比较和分析,并对团头鲂(♀)×鳡(♂)的线粒体全基因组序列进行扩增和分析。结果显示,在传统可量性状和框架结构中,杂交F1的性状更加偏向于母本团头鲂。在可数性状上,杂交子代的背鳍棘数、胸鳍棘数、腹鳍棘数和臀鳍棘数与母本团头鲂及父本鳡都一致;而其余大多数性状,如背鳍鳍条数、腹鳍鳍条数、臀鳍鳍条数、侧线鳞数、侧线上鳞数、侧线下鳞数和鳔室数,杂交子代的性状更接近于母本团头鲂。杂交鱼的线粒体基因组序列全长为16623 bp,与母本团头鲂一致,其碱基组成为31.23%A、16.19%G、24.69%T和27.90%C,且具有一定的A+T偏向性。其线粒体基因组共编码37个基因,分别为13个蛋白质编码基因、22个tRNA基因和2个rRNA基因,还有1个非编码区(D-Loop)。系统发育树结果显示,团头鲂(♀)×鳡(♂)与母本团头鲂的亲缘关系较近,与父本鳡的亲缘关系较远。
