In this numerical study,natural flow and heat transfer of nanofluids with Al2O3,TiO2,Cu and CNT nanoparticles in a vertical channel with dimpled fins at Rayleigh number(Ra)of Ra=3.25×107 to Ra=1×108 are investigated by using the finite volume *** obtained results revealed that,using CNT in volume fractions of 2%and 4%leads to significant heat transfer and atφ=6%,using TiO2 nanoparticles has a great effect on Nu number ***,using solid nanoparticles in base fluid causes more uniform heat transfer distribution,especially in areas close to heated surface and by adding more volume fraction in base fluid,temperature level *** general,according to temperature contours,reduction of wall temperature depends on the increase of Ra and volume fraction and the type of solid nanoparticles.

Numerous tribological applications,wherein the use of liquid lubricants is infeasible,require adequate dry *** the use of polymers as an effective solution for dry sliding tribological applications,their poor wear resistance prevents the utilization in harsh industrial *** methods are typically implemented to tackle the poor wear performance of polymers,however sacrificing some of their mechanical/tribological ***,we discussed the introduction of a novel additive,namely microencapsulated phase change material(MPCM)into an advanced polymeric ***,paraffin was encapsulated into melamine-based resin,and the capsules were dispersed in an aromatic thermosetting co-polyester(ATSP)*** found that the MPCM-filled composite exhibited a unique tribological behavior,manifested as“zero wear”,and a super-low coefficient of friction(COF)of *** developed composite outperformed the state-of-the-art polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)-filled coatings,under the experimental conditions examined herein.

Pulmonary fibrosis, a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs mainly in older adults, is a serious health threat with few effective treatment options. The etiological aspects of pulmonary fibrosis remain unknown, though some factors such as cigarette smoking, viral infections, surfactant protein polymorphisms, and chronic or high doses use of certain drugs are considered to be risk factors for the progression of pulmonary fibrosis. No standard treatments have been introduced in clinic yet. Although glucocorticoids and antioxidant drugs have been administered, the severe and broad-spectrum adverse effects of glucocorticoids limit their use. Efforts to identify novel therapeutic agents with improved safety profiles are therefore ongoing. In this review, the authors have described the effects of herbal extracts and compounds and certain pharmacological agents on pulmonary fibrosis in animal models. These effects indicate that herbs are a promising source of compounds that can play pivotal roles in the treatment of lung fibrosis.

AIM:To assess the effectiveness,safety,and costeffectiveness of the Argus II in treatment of the retinitis pigmentosa(RP)***:The Pro Quest,Web of Science,EMBASE,MEDLINE(via Pub Med)were searched using combinations of the keywords of Argus,safety,effectiveness,bionic eye,retinal prosthesis,and RP through March *** retrieved records were screened and then assessed for ***:Totally 926 records were retrieved from the searched databases and finally 12 studies *** RP patients showed improvements in visual function after receiving the prosthesis,compared to the time before the prosthesis or the time it was *** was measured by square localization,direction of motion,and grating visual acuity *** major adverse effect was reported for the Argus II prosthesis itself and/or the surgery to implement it,but the most frequently reported items were hypotony,and conjunctival *** incremental cost-effectiveness ratio(ICER)was calculated to be€14603 per qualityadjusted life year(QALY)in UK and$207616 per QALY in ***:The available evidence shows that the Argus II prosthesis in RP patients is effective in improvement of their visual *** minor adverse effects are reported for the *** cost-effectiveness studies show that the technology is cost-effective only at high levels of willingness-to-pay.

Kinetic parameters of nano-structured iron catalyst in Fischer-Tropsch synthesis （FTS） were studied in a wide range of synthesis gas conversions and compared with conventional *** conventional Fe/Cu/La catalyst was prepared by co-precipitation of Fe and Cu nitrates in aqueous media and Fe/Cu/La nanostructure catalyst was prepared by co-precipitation in a water-in-oil ***-structured iron catalyst shows higher FTS *** results indicated that in FTS rate expression,the rate constant （k） increased and adsorption parameter （b） decreased by decreasing the catalyst particle size from conventional to *** increasing in the rate constant and decreasing in the adsorption parameter affected the FTS rate in parallel direction,the particle size of catalyst showed complicated effects on kinetic parameters of FTS reaction.

Pore size analysis plays a pivotal role in unraveling reservoir behavior and its intricate relationship with confined *** methods for predicting pore size distribution(PSD),relying on drilling cores or thin sections,face limitations associated with depth *** this study,we introduce an innovative framework that leverages nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)log data,encompassing clay-bound water(CBW),bound volume irreducible(BVI),and free fluid volume(FFV),to determine three PSDs(micropores,mesopores,and macropores).Moreover,we establish a robust pore size classification(PSC)system utilizing ternary plots,derived from the *** the three studied wells,NMR log data is exclusive to one well(well-A),while conventional well logs are accessible for all three wells(well-A,well-B,and well-C).This distinction enables PSD predictions for the remaining two wells(B and C).To prognosticate NMR outputs(CBW,BVI,FFV)for these wells,a two-step deep learning(DL)algorithm is ***,three feature selection algorithms(f-classif,f-regression,and mutual-info-regression)identify the conventional well logs most correlated to NMR outputs in *** three feature selection algorithms utilize statistical *** algorithms are utilized to systematically identify and optimize pertinent input features,thereby augmenting model interpretability and predictive efficacy within intricate data-driven ***,all three feature selection algorithms introduced the number of 4 logs as the most optimal number of inputs to the DL algorithm with different combinations of logs for each of the three desired ***,the CUDA Deep Neural Network Long Short-Term Memory algorithm(CUDNNLSTM),belonging to the category of DL algorithms and harnessing the computational power of GPUs,is employed for the prediction of CBW,BVI,and FFV *** prediction leverages the optimal logs identified in the preceding *** of NMR outputs was done

The present work dealt with the preconcentration of rare earth elements in Saghand ore(Yazd province,Iran)which was achieved by Humphrey spiral using orthogonal optimization method after scrubbing the sample at 45%solid pulp density for 30 *** pulp was diluted and was fed to a Humphrey spiral for *** process parameters considered were feed size,feed solids and feed rate,and Taguchi’s L9(34)orthogonal array(OA)was selected for optimization of the *** results show that the feed rate and feed size were more significant than the other operation parameters of the *** was also found that under optimal conditions,the concentrate grade of rare earth elements increased from2860 10 6to 6050 10 6and recovery reached to 58%.

Land use change modeling through an integrated Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network and Markov Chain analysis(case study: Arasbaran region, Iran)

Temporal land use/land cover (LULC) change information provides a variety of applications for informed management of land resources. The aim of this study was to detect and predict LULC changes in the Arasbaran region using an integrated Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network and Markov Chain analysis. At the first step, multi-temporal Landsat images (1990, 2002 and 2014) were processed using ancillary data and were classified into seven LULC categories of high density forest, low-density forest, agriculture, grassland, barren land, water and urban area. Next, LULC changes were detected for three time profiles, 1990–2002, 2002–2014 and 1990–2014. A 2014 LULC map of the study area was further simulated (for model performance evaluation) applying 1990 and 2002 map layers. In addition, a collection of spatial variables was also used for modeling LULC change processes as driving forces. The actual and simulated 2014 LULC change maps were cross-tabulated and compared to ensure model simulation success and the results indicated an overall accuracy and kappa coefficient of 97.79% and 0.992, respectively. Having the model properly validated, LULC change was predicted up to the year 2025. The results demonstrated that 992 and 1592 ha of high and lowdensity forests were degraded during 1990–2014,respectively, while 422 ha were added to the extent of residential areas with a growth rate of 17.58 ha per year. The developed model predicted a considerable degradation trend for the forest categories through 2025, accounting for 489 and 531 ha of loss for high and low-density forests, respectively. By way of contrast, residential area and farmland categories will increase up to 211 and 427 ha, respectively. The integrated prediction model and customary area data can be used for practical management efforts by simulating vegetation dynamics and future LULC change trajectories.

To investigate the supplement of lost nerve cells in rats with traumatic brain injury by intravenous administration of allogenic bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, this study established a Wistar rat model of traumatic brain injury by weight drop impact acceleration method and administered 3 × 106 rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells via the lateral tail vein. At 14 days after cell transplantation, bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells differentiated into neurons and astrocytes in injured rat cerebral cortex and rat neurological function was improved significantly. These findings suggest that intravenously administered bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells can promote nerve cell regeneration in injured cerebral cortex, which supplement the lost nerve cells.
