Quantifying the coastal mean sea level change causing by the winter positive phase of the North Atlantic oscillation index NAO＋ at the Gulf of Finland coast is of high priority for detecting and predicting the global warming impact in this region. Both boreal winter months and season of three long-term data station series of the coastal mean sea levels and the NAO indices were linked for two cases, i.e.： different periods and the 1977-1994 period. This study is dedicated to：（1） Detecting the exclusive impacts of the NAO＋; （2） Estimating the significant standard bivariate linear regression models; （3） Calculating the climatic linear trend coefficient by using three methods （OLS, GLS, Theil-Sen）; （4） Correcting the mean sea level series anomalies by using the significant linear regression equations as a function of NAO＋ anomalies, over the period 1977-1994; （5） Calculating the realistic linear trend caused as a function of NAO＋ for period 1977-1994 in the context of the realistic portion of the global warming. The results reveal that, the NAO＋ manifests their impacts on the coastal mean sea levels and its contribution in the configured linear trends. The realistic linear changes have detected and predicted. The Gulf of Finland coast showed the wannest regions in the context of the realistic portion of the global warming during the winters of the period 1977-1994.

Both winter DJF （December, January, February） months and DJF season means long-term data series of 50 regulated rivers discharges rates and the NAO indices were analyzed for different spans. This study is dictated for：（1） detecting the exclusive impacts of the positive phases of NAO indices on rivers discharges rates by estimating the Linear Correlation Coefficient; （2） modeling the interrelations between the discharges rates and NAO indices by estimating the Linear Regression Models, both for manifesting the impact of the positive phase of NAO index; （3） estimating the Linear Trend Coefficient in the discharge series, for manifesting the contribution of the positive phase of NAO index. Discharge rates are mainly influenced by the two mechanisms： the positive phase of NAO index and the environmental conditions in specific catchments, that is where, the positive phase of the NAO index manifest its impact on the related rivers discharges and its contribution in the related configured trends. The discharges fluctuations patterns show some increase in the discharges values have been occurred in regions around the Northern Baltic Proper as well as in Southern Finland and Sweden. The rivers such as Lagan, Nissan, Helgean, Venta, Pamu, Porvoonjoki, Lapuanjoki, Oulujoki, Kyronjoki, Wisla, Eurajoki, Odra, Lielupe, Gota alv, Motala strom, Nykopingsan, Vuoksi, Kalajoki and Simojoki haven not linear discharges changes registered depending on the specificity of the environmental conditions at the catchments areas for those rivers. The positive phase of NAO index has a linear relation with impacted river discharge.

Complex neutrosophic set(CNS)is a modified version of the complex fuzzy set,to cope with complicated and inconsistent information in the environment of fuzzy set *** CNS is characterised by three functions expressing the degree of complex-valued membership,complex-valued abstinence and degree of complex-valued *** aim of this manuscript is to initiate the novel dice similarity measures and generalised dice similarity using *** special cases of the investigated measures are discussed with the help of some ***,some distance measures based on CNS are also proposed in this ***,the authors applied the generalised dice similarity measures and weighted generalised dice similarity measures using CNS to the pattern recognition model to examine the reliability and superiority of the established *** advantages and comparative analysis of the proposed measures with existing measures are also discussed in *** last,a numerical example is provided to illustrate the validity and applicability of the presented measures.

Enormousmethods have been proposed for the detection and segmentation of blur and non-blur regions of the *** to the limited available information about blur type,scenario and the level of blurriness,detection and segmentation is a challenging ***,the performance of the blur measure operator is an essential factor and needs improvement to attain *** this paper,we propose an effective blur measure based on local binary pattern(LBP)with adaptive threshold for blur *** sharpness metric developed based on LBP used a fixed threshold irrespective of the type and level of blur,that may not be suitable for images with variations in imaging conditions,blur amount and ***,the proposed measure uses an adaptive threshold for each input image based on the image and blur properties to generate improved sharpness *** adaptive threshold is computed based on the model learned through support vector machine(SVM).The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using two different datasets and is compared with five state-of-the-art *** analysis reveals that the proposed method performs significantly better qualitatively and quantitatively against all of the compared methods.

The art of cricket bowling is complex and arduous owing to the run-up and ball release time energy requirement to achieve speed and variations. Therefore, human bowlers cannot bowl for extended periods and numerous mechanical bowling machines have been built to help batsmen improve their skills during practice sessions. However, most of these existing machines are designed for spherical balls ignoring the distinguishing physical feature of a cricket ball: the raised equatorial seam, which makes it less of a sphere. The bowlers are known to often benefit from this seam in their pursuit to taking the batsmen's wicket by imparting swing, spin and bounce variations along-with other bowling variables. This lack of the seam consideration creates a void between human and mechanical bowling. In this work, we present design and development of an automatic bowling machine termed as ROBOWLER to make mechanical bowling more realistic. This machine ensures ball seam position as well as fulfills other constraints. Ball pitching and seam position accuracy results underscore the suitability of this design to enhance the capabilities of mechanical bowling.

The assessment of in situ permeability of rock mass is challenging for large-scale projects such as reservoirs created by dams,where water tightness issues are of prime *** in situ permeability is strongly related to the frequency and distribution of discontinuities in the rock mass and quantified by rock quality designation(RQD).This paper analyzes the data of hydraulic conductivity and discontinuities sampled at different depths during the borehole investigations in the limestone and sandstone formations for the construction of hydraulic structures in *** recovered from boreholes provide RQD data,and in situ Lugeon tests elucidate the permeability.A modern technique of multivariate adaptive regression splines(MARS)assisted in correlating permeability and RQD along with the *** situ permeability shows a declining trend with increasing RQD,and the depth of investigation is within 50 *** type of relationship can be developed based on detailed initial investigations at the site where the hydraulic conductivity of discontinuous rocks is required to be *** relationship can approximate the permeability by only measuring the RQD in later investigations on the same site,thus saving the time and cost of the site *** applicability of the relationship developed in this study to another location requires a lithological similarity of the rock mass that can be verified through preliminary investigation at the site.
