Evolutionary history of mountain voles of the subgenus Aschizomys (Cricetidae, Rodentia), inferred from mitochondrial and nuclear markers

In this study,we present an assessment of the evolutionary history and phylogenetic relationships of Asian mountain voles of the subgenus Aschizomys,genus Alticola,based on extensive sampling and phylogenetic analyses of data from mitochondrial and nuclear *** species of this subgenus are widespread in the mountain areas of north-eastern ***,both their distribution and taxonomic borders remained questionable for more than 100 *** study showed discordance in the phylogenetic patterns between nuclear and mtDNA *** found that mtDNA in *** is paraphyletic relative to ***,but nuclear markers demonstrated reciprocal *** to species distribution modeling,ranges of *** and *** experienced a secondary contact during the Last Glacial Maximum(approximately 22 kyr BP),and thus a hybridization event seems plausible during that *** tree analyses recovered a sister group relationship between the two species of the Aschizomys subgenus,with an estimated divergence date of around 0.8 *** results provided good support for currently recognized subspecies within both *** and *** based on mitochondrial and nuclear datasets.A new,yet undescribed form,supposedly of a subspecific status within ***,was found in the Bureinskiy Range in the Khabarovsk *** finding expands the current species distribution range further to the southeast.

The article contemplates the possibility of contextual analysis usage for the means of a social network phenomenon research which is the platform for opinion growth and aimed public opinion makeover. The purpose of this work was to examine based on modern information technologies research possibility of communities' sociopsychological focus together with social processes of their origin. There were identified main trends of modern sociological science which are connected with the search of global identity and future civilization development forecast based on multidimensional models created from narratives-views of various target groups of respondents. Below there are given testing results of the search system for communities with the designated psychological focus. The search system is based on doc2 vec technology. Developed application being in the process of communities' analysis potentially has the possibility to process visual information. In addition, this application possibly could use network analysis for the user's circle of contacts definition, among other things for the purposes of search for people who provoke teenagers for suicidal acts. In addition to the network analysis of the user's communication circle and the latent-semantic analysis of user's communities' texts it is possible to analyse user's feedback to community publications.

Some new estimations of scalar products of vector fields in unbounded domains are investigated. Lp-estimations for the vector fields were proved in special weighted functional spaces. The paper generalizes our earlier results for bounded domains. Estimations for scalar products make it possible to investigate wide classes of mathematical physics problems in physically inhomogeneous domains. Such estimations allow studying issues of correctness for problems with non-smooth coefficients. The paper analyses solvability of stationary set of Maxwell equations in inhomogeneous unbounded domains based on the proved Lp-estimations.

Influence of Carbon Content of WC-Co Electrode Materials on the Wear Resistance of Electrospark Coatings

In the electrospark deposition (ESD) of WC-Co materials on low carbon steel, tungsten carbide (WC) decarburization is observed. The use of an inert atmosphere (argon) does not eliminate the problem of tungsten carbide decarburization during electrospark processing. The effect of the carbon concentration of electrode materials on the phase composition and mechanical properties of WC (10 wt% of Co) ESD coatings has been investigated in this work. The introduction of additional carbon (graphite) in the electrode material on the basis of the WC-10%Co leads to an increased amount of WC in the obtained coatings and thus improves their wear resistance.

The aim of the present study was to determine the MICs (minimum inhibitory concentrations) of selected antibiotic agents using broth microdilution method and their combination effect by determination of FICindex (fractional inhibitory concentrations). Lysozyme Anodonta cygnea was more active than Lysozyme Unio pictorum, especially against Gram-negative bacterias. Combination of Macropen and Lysozyme Unio pictorum has a synergistic effect, while a separation of these antibacterial agents was not active against some of the strains of microorganisms.

All-optical generation of static electric field in a single metal-semiconductor nanoantenna

Electric field is a powerful instrument in nanoscale engineering,providing wide functionalities for control in various optical and solid-state *** development of a single optically resonant nanostructure operating with a charge-induced electrical field is challenging,but it could be extremely useful for novel nanophotonic ***,we show a resonant metal-semiconductor nanostructure with a static electric field created at the interface between its components by charge carriers generated via femtosecond laser *** study this field experimentally,probing it by second-harmonic generation signal,which,in our system,is time-dependent and has a non-quadratic signal/excitation power *** developed numerical models reveal the influence of the optically induced static electric field on the second harmonic generation *** also show how metal work function and silicon surface defect density for different charge carrier concentrations affect the formation of this *** estimate the value of optically-generated static electric field in this nanoantenna to achieve≈10^(8)v/*** findings pave the way for the creation of nanoantenna-based optical memory,programmable logic and neuromorphic devices.

Graphene nanoribbons(GNRs)attract a growing interest due to their tunable physical properties and promise for device applications.A variety of atomically precise GNRs have recently been synthesized by on-surface and solution *** on-surface GNRs can be conveniently visualized by scanning tunneling microscopy(STM),and their electronic structure can be probed by scanning tunneling spectroscopy(STS),such characterization remains a great challenge for the solution-synthesized ***,we report solution synthesis and detailed STM/STS characterization of atomically precise GNRs with a meandering shape that are structurally related to chevron GNRs but have a reduced energy band *** ribbons were synthesized by Ni0-mediated Yamamoto polymerization of specially designed molecular precursors using triflates as the leaving groups and oxidative cyclodehydrogenation of the resulting polymers using Scholl *** ribbons were deposited onto III-v semiconducting InAs(110)substrates by a dry contact transfer ***-resolution STM/STS characterization not only confirmed the GNR geometry,but also revealed details of electronic structure including energy states,electronic band gap,as well as the spatial distribution of the local density of *** experimental STS band gap of GNRs is about 2 ev,which is very close to 2.35 ev predicted by the density functional theory simulations with GW correction,indicating a weak screening effect of InAs(110)***,several aspects of GNR-InAs(110)substrate interactions were also probed and analyzed,including GNR tunable transparency,alignment to the substrate,and manipulations of GNR position by the STM *** weak interaction between the GNRs and the InAs(110)surface makes InAs(110)an ideal substrate for investigating the intrinsic properties of *** of the reduced energy band gap of these ribbons,the GNR thin films exhibit appreciably high electrical conductivity and on/off ratios of about 1

We propose theoretically and demonstrate experimentally the generation of light pulses whose polarization varies temporally to cover selected areas of the Poincare´sphere with both tunable swirling speed and total duration(1 ps and 10 ps,respectively,in our implementation).The effect relies on the Rabi oscillations of two polariton polarized fields excited by two counter-polarized and delayed *** superposition of the oscillating fields result in the precession of the Stokes vector of the emitted light while polariton lifetime imbalance results in its drift from a circle of controllable radius on the Poincare´sphere to a single point at long *** positioning of the initial circle and final point allows to engineer the type of polarization spanning,including a full sweeping of the Poincare´*** universality and simplicity of the scheme should allow for the deployment of time-varying full-Poincare´polarization fields in a variety of platforms,timescales,and regimes.

The Impact of Aluminum-Containing Set Accelerators on Sulfate Resistance of Portland Cement Compositions

This study contains comparative research of sulfate resistance of ordinary Portland cement pastes with addition of basic aluminum sulfate (hydroxosulfate, Al(OH)1.78(SO4)0.61) and amorphous Al(OH)3. Over 3 months of storing in sodium sulfate solution, the most significant expansion and deterioration occur in case of samples with aluminum hydroxide. During sulfate resistance test, the ratio between aluminum nuclei in AFt (ettringite) and AFm phases was studied by 27Al-MAS NMR, and the impact of aluminum-containing admixtures on this ratio was specified. In accordance with NMR data, in samples with Al(OH)3, the rate of secondary ettringite formation becomes noticeable after one month of storing in sulfate solution. For samples with Al(OH)1.78(SO4)0.61, the rate of elongation and temper of changes in molar ratio between sulfoaluminate phases were comparable with reference samples without admixtures.

Modern digital life can be characterized by both new possibilities and challenges. However, if we assume that digital life has its own natural course which establishes a balance between threats and promises, human culture always tends to reflect upon new experiences, communication methods and ways of behavior, some of them attract more attention and concern — problematic behavior and crimes in the first place. Some cybercrimes are just a new method to commit the offences already laid down in criminal codes. Cyberbullying and cyberstalking, on the other hand, offer new questions and challenges to courts and legislature. Nevertheless, the problem of cyberbullying and cyberstalking is among the most evident and maybe the least studied, and it is the problem that involves both law and ethics. Our study is an attempt to review the traditional concepts of stalking and bullying, to trace their transitions and to summarize the related problems.
