We present embedded atom method-based geometry optimization calculations for Fe, Cr, Mo, Nb, Ta, V and W body-centered cubic metals with Finnis–Sinclair potentials. After the optimization, we determine their typical elastic constants, bulk modulus, shear modulus, Young's modulus, Poisson's ratios, elastic wave velocities and cohesive energies. Additionally, we perform a benchmark between the experiments and the available density functional theory results. In general, our results show a good consistency with previous findings on the elastic and cohesive energy properties of the considered metals.

Workow management technologies have been dramatically improving their deployment architectures and systems along with the evolution and proliferation of cloud distributed computing ***,such cloud computing environments ought to be providing a suitable distributed computing paradigm to deploy very large-scale workow processes and applications with scalable on-demand *** this paper,we focus on the distribution paradigm and its deployment formalism for such very large-scale workow applications being deployed and enacted across the multiple and heterogeneous cloud computing *** propose a formal approach to vertically as well as horizontally fragment very large-scale workow processes and their applications and to deploy the workow process and application fragments over three types of cloud deployment models and *** concretize the formal approach,we rstly devise a series of operational situations fragmenting into cloud workow process and application components and deploying onto three different types of cloud deployment models and *** concrete approaches are called the deployment-driven fragmentation mechanism to be applied to such very large-scale workow process and applications as an implementing component for cloud workow management ***,we strongly believe that our approach with the fragmentation formalisms becomes a theoretical basis of designing and implementing very large-scale and maximally distributed workow processes and applications to be deployed on cloud deployment models and architectural computing environments as well.

The knowledge of Martian geology has increased enormously in the last 40 yr. Several missions orbiting or roving Mars have revolutionized our understanding of its evolution and geological features, which in several ways are similar to Earth, but are extremely different in many respects. The impressive dichotomy between the two Martian hemispheres is most likely linked to its impact cratering history, rather than internal dynamics such as on Earth. Mars＇ volcanism has been extensive, very longlived and rather constant in its setting. Water was available in large quantities in the distant past of Mars, when a magnetic field and more vigorous tectonics were active. Exogenic forces have been shaping Martian landscapes and have led to a plethora of landscapes shaped by wind, water and ice. Mars＇ dynamical behavior continues, with its climatic variation affecting climate and geology until very recent times. This paper tries to summarize major highlights in Mars＇ Geology, and points to deeper and more extensive sources of important scientific contributions and future exploration.

Time series forecasting has become an important aspect of data analysis and has many real-world ***,undesirable missing values are often encountered,which may adversely affect many forecasting *** this study,we evaluate and compare the effects of imputationmethods for estimating missing values in a time *** approach does not include a simulation to generate pseudo-missing data,but instead perform imputation on actual missing data and measure the performance of the forecasting model created *** an experiment,therefore,several time series forecasting models are trained using different training datasets prepared using each imputation ***,the performance of the imputation methods is evaluated by comparing the accuracy of the forecasting *** results obtained from a total of four experimental cases show that the k-nearest neighbor technique is the most effective in reconstructing missing data and contributes positively to time series forecasting compared with other imputation methods.

Comparison of a modified Mogen clamp and classic dorsal slit circumcision under local anesthesia:A clinical study

Background:Currently,although various methods are used,there is no gold standard method for ***,we developed a modified circumcision clamp inspired by the Mogen clamp suitable for circumcisions performed under local anesthesia in our *** evaluate its success and complications,we compared our modified Mogen clamp with a dorsal slit *** and methods:From 2013 to 2017,we retrospectively evaluated 1309 patients who had undergone circumcision;of these,832 used the modified Mogen clamp method(Group 1)and 477 used the dorsal slit method(Group 2).The patients'age,surgery duration,minor hemorrhage(not requiring suture or repeated surgical exploration after circumcision but with buffer or clotting solution used),major hemorrhage(hemorrhage requiring suture or exploration),redundant prepuce skin remnants,revision numbers,and family satisfaction values were evaluated and compared between the 2 ***:Patients were assessed at least 3 times:1 day,1 week,and 1 month after *** mean ages in Groups 1 and 2 were 16.5±22.8 versus 15.5±18.8 months,*** surgical procedure durations were 9.2±1.7 and 15.4±2.5 minutes in Groups 1 and 2,respectively(p<0.001).Complications were found in 164(19.7%)versus 81 patients(17.0%)(p=0.522),including redundant skin in 42(5.4%)versus 15 patients(3.14%)(p=0.105)and major hemorrhage in 20(2.4%)versus 15 patients(3.3%)(p=0.230)in Groups 1 and 2,***:Under local anesthesia,the circumcision procedure with the modified Mogen clamp can be performed more rapidly than with the dorsal slit,and the cosmetic results are better as the incision line is more *** postoperative complications were similar,with problems related to redundant skin occurring more frequently with clamp circumcision.

AIM:To describe the results of vitrectomy and partial capsulectomy via anterior approach surgical technique in treatment of chronic postoperative endophthalmitis (CPE). METHODS:Clinical records of 9 patients treated for CPE between 2006 and 2010 were reviewed retrospectively. All of these patients were treated with vitrectomy and partial capsulectomy via anterior approach. RESULTS:Six of 9 patients were male. The average patients’ age was (60 ±8.1) years. The average period between cataract extraction and onset of signs and symptoms was (3.6±1.3) weeks. The average presenting visual acuity was 0.3 ±0.1 and the average final post operative visual acuity was 0.7±0.2. The mean follow-up period was (28.1±8.9) weeks. In all patients, the inflammation subsided after surgery. · CONCLUSION:Our results suggest that anterior vitrectomy and partial capsulectomy via anterior approach may be considered as potentially useful and relatively less invasive technique to treat CPE.

Increased syndecan-1 and glypican-3 predict poor perinatal outcome and treatment resistance in intrahepatic cholestasis

Background:Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy(ICP)increases the risk of adverse pregnancy *** study aimed to explore the association between serum syndecan-1 and glypican-3 levels and the adverse perinatal outcome as well as the responses to the treatment of ursodeoxycholic acid(UDCA).Methods:This prospective,case control study included 88 pregnant women(44 women with ICP and 44 healthy controls).The primary end points were the perinatal outcome and the response to UDCA therapy.A logistic regression model was used to identify the independent risk factors of adverse pregnancy outcomes and reduced response to UDCA ***:Women with ICP had significantly higher serum syndecan-1(1.27±0.36 ng/m L vs.0.98±0.50 ng/m L;P=0.003),glypican-3(1.78±0.13 ng/m L vs.1.69±0.16 ng/m L;P=0.004),AST(128.59±1.44 vs.13.29±1.32 U/L;P<0.001),and ALT(129.84±1.53 vs.8.00±3.67 U/L;P<0.001)levels compared with the *** increased levels of syndecan-1(OR=4.715,95%CI:1.554–14.310;P=0.006),glypican-3(OR=8.465,95%CI:3.372–21.248;P=0.007),ALT(OR=1.382,95%CI:1.131–1.690;P=0.002),and postprandial bile acid(PBA)(OR=3.392,95%CI:1.003–12.869;P=0.026)were correlated to *** adverse neonatal outcome was related to increased glypican-3(OR=4.275,95%CI:2.726–5.635;P=0.039),and PBA(OR=3.026,95%CI:1.069–13.569;P=0.037).Increases of syndecan-1(OR=7.464,95%CI:2.130–26.153,P=0.017)and glypican-3(OR=6.194,95%CI:2.951–13.002;P=0.025)were the risk factors of decreased response to UDCA ***:Syndecan-1 and glypican-3 might be powerful determinants in predicting adverse perinatal outcome in patients with ICP,and they can be used to predict the response to the UDCA treatment.

Central venous catheterization(CVC) is an invasive procedure for administering fluids,nutrients,and drugs;monitoring central venous pressure;performing pulmonary artery catheterization;and placing transvenous pacemakers in intensive care units and all specialties,from anesthesia to emergency medicine,for the treatment of trauma and hemodynamically unstable pediatric and adult patients.[1,2]Complications have been observed in more than 15% of patients who underwent ***,infectious,and thrombotic complications have been reported in 5%–19%,5%–26%,and 2%–26% of patients,respectively.[3] Malposition,on the other hand,is common in subclavian catheter insertion and is usually associated with an initially misplaced guidewire.[4]

Plant-symbiotic arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)are of high global ecological and economic importance,but describing environmental communities of AMF at the species level remains a challenge,despite the need to understand AMF-plant preferences and to apply AMF in sustainable ***,the potato-associated AMF species community composition was assessed for three Andean countries along an altitudinal gradient and at different plant stages,by using 454 GS-FLX+sequencing of a 760 bp LSU rRNA gene PCR *** methods were compared:defining OTUs based on a simple sequence similarity threshold,or affiliating reference sequences to species based on a high throughput phylogenetic annotation approach using an evolutionary placement algorithm(EPA).The EPA-based approach was not only more precise,but also fundamental to robustly unveil the AMF species community *** principal advantage of this approach was also demonstrated by using artificially constructed datasets based on validated public database *** affiliation of sequence reads to species using phylogenetic annotation revealed a surprisingly conserved AMF core-species community structure in Andean potatoes,regardless of different plant stages and environmental *** total,41 species were detected and in some cases more than 25 species were found colonizing an individual root *** species were identified as dominant colonizers,co-occurring with Cetraspora nodosa and certain Claroideoglomus and Rhizophagus species in most potato root samples.
