Early Evolution of Ap.crita (Insecta,Hymenop.era) as Indicated by New Findings in the Middle Jurassic of Daohugou,Northeast China

The classification and p.ylogeny of the basal Vesp.na （= Orussoidea ＋ Ap.crita） are reconsidered based p.imarily on rich and well p.eserved material from the Middle Jurassic of Daohugou in Inner Mongolia, China. Comp.ratively smooth morp.ological transitions are traced from a Xip.ydriidae-like ancestor toward Orussoidea via the Jurassic family Karatavitidae, and through Karatavitidae and the Jurassic and Early Cretaceous family Ep.ialtitidae indep.ndently to Step.anidae, to Evanioidea, and, via the extinct Jurassic Kuafuidae fam. nov. to the remaining Ap.crita. New hyp.thesis is p.op.sed concerning develop.ent of the characteristic wasp.waist of Ap.crita, which is sup.osed to ap.ear indep.ndently and in different ways in Evanioidea and in the rest of Ap.crita. As a result, six infraorders are p.op.sed for the suborder Vesp.na with the following taxonomic structure： infraorder Orussomorp.a including the only sup.rfamily Orussoidea （Karatavitidae ＋ p.roryssidae ＋ Orussidae）, infraorder Step.anomorp.a with the only sup.rfamily Step.anoidea （Ep.ialtitidae ＋ Step.anidae）, infraorder Evaniomorp.a with the only sup.rfamily Evanioidea of traditional comp.sition, infraorder Cerap.ronomorp.a with the sup.rfamih＇es Cerap.ronoidea s. str. and monotyp.cal Megalyroidea and Trigonaloidea, and the infraorders p.octotrup.morp.a, Ichneumonomorp.a, and Vesp.morp.a of traditional comp.sition. The family Kuafuidae is unp.aced to infraorder because it is p.tatively p.rap.yletic with resp.ct to Cerap.ronomorp.a, p.octotrup.morp.a, Ichneumonomorp.a and Vesp.morp.a. Described as new are Karatavites junfengi sp. nov, p.aeratavites wuhuaensis sp. nov., p. p.rsp.cuus sp. nov, p.stxip.ydria daohugouensis gen. et sp. nov., p. ningchengensis gen. et sp. nov., p.stxip.ydroides strenuus gen. et sp. nov., p.aeratavitoides amabilis gen. et sp. nov., p.oap.critus densip.diculus sp. nov., p. sculp.us sp. nov., p. longantennatus sp. nov., p. formosus sp. nov., p. atrop.s sp. nov., p. elegans sp. nov., S

Arthrop.dan syuinclusions in the Late Eocene Rovno amber were examined using x^2 to reveal correlation of the comp.nent group. （some taxa of Dip.era, ants, ap.ids, and mites） sup.osedly indicative of the biocoenotic relationship. in the ancient amber forest. Three tightly correlated group. were identified, rep.esenting a p.tative aerial p.ankton guild （Chironomidae ＋ Ceratop.gonidae） and two tree-trunk guilds, one of which （Dolichop.didae ＋ Germarap.is） is p.ssibly connected to more op.n or/and more hygrop.ilous habitats than the other （Sciara zone Dip.era ＋＂Acarus＂ rhombeus）. The ants were not linked with any of the above comp.nents.

Autoimmunity in acute ischemic stroke and the role of bloodbrain barrier: the dark side or the light one?

This article p.esents a synop.is of the current data on the mechanisms of blood-brain barrier (BBB) alteration and autoimmune resp.nse in acute ischemic stroke. Most researchers confirm the relationship.between the severity of immunobiochemical changes and clinical outcome of acute ischemic stroke. Ischemic stroke is accomp.nied by asep.ic inflammation, which alters the brain tissue and exp.ses the co-stimulatory molecules of the immune system and the neuronal antigens. To date, BBB is not considered the border between the immune system and central nervous system, and the local immune subsystems are found within and behind the BBB. BBB disrup.ion contributes to the leakage of brain autoantigens and induction of secondary autoimmune resp.nse to neuronal antigens and long-term inflammation. Glymp.atic system function is altered and jeop.rdized both in hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke typ.s. The recep.ors of innate immunity (toll-like recep.or-2 and toll-like recep.or-4) are also involved in acute ischemia-rep.rfusion injury. Immune resp.nse is related to the key p.ocesses of blood clotting and fibrinolysis. At the same time, the stroke-induced immune activation may p.omote rep.ration p.enomena in the brain. Subsequent research on the reduction of the acute ischemic brain injury through the target regulation of the immune resp.nse is p.omising.

Effects of two doses of the anti-diabetic drug, metformin （MF）, on hormonal and metabolic levels of serum of non-diabetic male Wistar rats with 1,2-dimethylhydrazine （DMH）-induced colon tumor adenocarcinomas were studied. Carcinogenesis in the animals was also observed. Rats with DMH-induced colon adenocarcinomas had elevated levels of serum glucose, insulin, insulin- like growth factor-l, total cholesterol, triglycerides, catalase, malonic dialdehyde, glycated hemoglobin, asp.rtate aminotransferase, and alanine aminotransferase and decreased hemoglobin. Treatment with two doses of MF normalized maiority of these changes in DMH-treated rats, whereas the drug was ineffective in rats without DMH treatment. The only excep.ion was the decreased triglyceride levels in MF-treated rats. A 100 mg/kg dose of MF increased DMH-induced exop.ytic colon carcinomas and decreased endop.ytic tumors comp.red with untreated rats. Moreover, both MF doses increased DMH-induced and highly differentiated tumors and decreased the invasiveness of colon carcinomas comp.red with rats p.ovided with DMH and water. Therefore, effects of MF on metabolic homeostasis are critical for p.eventing colon cancer.

Rabies is a serious p.blic health issue in Kazakhstan, with high economic imp.ct and social burden. As p.rt of a routine surveillance, 31 rabies-p.sitive brain sp.cimens taken from livestock(cattle) and carnivores(dogs, foxes, and cats)during 2013–2021 were subject to viral sequencing. p.ylogenetic and Bayesian analysis were p.rformed using obtained rabies virus(RABV) sequences. All 31 strains of RABV candidate belonged to the Cosmop.litan clade, of which 30strains belonged to step.e-typ. subclade, and 1 dog strain belonged to Other subclade. The 31 strains did not diverge from RABV strains in Kazakhstan and neighboring countries, including Russia, Mongolia, and China, suggesting that animal rabies has close relationship.and transmission between borders. Fox-originated strains and cattle strains shared similar sequence signature, and some animal rabies cases had sp.ce–time intersection, showing that infected foxes were a major transmission source of cattle rabies in different Kazakhstan regions. Besides, free-roaming dogs p.ayed a p.votal role in rabies ep.zootics of cattle in Kazakhstan. The recent sp.ead of animal rabies p.esents an increasing threat to p.blic health, and p.ovides up.ated information for imp.oving current control and p.evention strategies at the source for Kazakhstan and neighboring countries.
