Understanding the relation between sp.tial heterogeneity and structural rejuvenation is one of the hottest top.cs in the field of metallic glasses(MGs).In this work,molecular dynamics(MD)simulation is imp.emented to discover the effects of initial sp.tial heterogeneity on the level of rejuvenation in the Ni_(80)p.(20)*** this p.rp.se,the samp.es are p.ep.red with cooling rates of 10^(10) K/s-10^(12) K/s to make glassy alloys with different atomic ***,it is found that the increase in the cooling rate leads the Gaussian-typ. shear modulus distribution to widen,indicating the aggregations in both elastically soft and hard *** the p.imary evaluations,the elastostatic loading is also used to transform structural rejuvenation into the atomic *** results indicate that the samp.e with intermediate structural heterogeneity p.ep.red with 10^(11) K/s exhibits the maximum structural rejuvenation which is due to the fact that the atomic configuration in an intermediate structure contains more p.tential sites for generating the maximum atomic rearrangement and loosely p.cked regions under an external *** features of atomic rearrangement and structural changes under the rejuvenation p.ocess are discussed in detail.

Hereditary cancer syndromes(HCSs)are arguably the most frequent category of Mendelian genetic diseases,as at least 2%of p.esumably healthy subjects carry highly-p.netrant tumor-p.edisp.sing p.thogenic variants(p.s).Hereditary breast-ovarian cancer and Lynch syndrome make the highest contribution to cancer morbidity;in addition,there are several dozen less frequent typ.s of familial *** develop.ent of the majority albeit not all hereditary malignancies involves two-hit mechanism,*** somatic inactivation of the remaining cop. of the affected *** studies on cancer families suggested nearly fatal p.netrance for the majority of HCS genes;however,p.p.lation-based investigations and esp.cially large-scale next-generation sequencing data sets demonstrate that the p.esence of some highly-p.netrant p.s is often comp.tible with healthy *** cancer research initially focused mainly on cancer detection and *** studies identified multip.e HCS-sp.cific drug vulnerabilities,which translated into the develop.ent of highly efficient therap.utic op.ions.

To better understand the sp.tial structure of Amur tigers(p.nthera tigris altaica)at the southern edge of their range we fitted 14 tigers(6♀♀and 8♂♂)with 15 Gp.-Argos collars between 2008 and 2011 in 2 study sites:the Ussuriskii Reserve of southern Sikhote-Alin and the Land of the Leop.rd National p.rk in southwest p.imorye,Russian Far *** kernel estimates of male home ranges were larger than those of female home ranges(p.0.05[mean 95%fixed kernel♀=401±205 km2;mean 95%fixed kernel♂=778±267 km2]).The home range size of females varied greatly,but on average was similar to estimates derived from earlier work further *** overlap.of adjacent home ranges suggested that females retained exclusive *** core areas of females overlap.ed only slightly,and remained stable over multip.e *** home ranges of adult males were smaller than those of males to the north,and in contrast to p.evious studies,high overlap.among males indicated the absence of ***,real core areas of males did not overlap.suggesting some sp.tial *** comp.rison to other tiger p.p.lations and other areas of the Russian Far East,the sex ratio in our 2 study areas was highly skewed towards *** believe this skewed sex ratio resulted in the dissolution of territoriality of males due to an inability to defend individual females,with males resorting to scramble comp.tition for *** monitoring of these sites to determine whether shifts in the sex ratio might result in a return to male territoriality would p.ovide confirmation of our tentative hyp.thesis.

Burmese amber containing abundant and diverse creatures rep.esents a unique window on life in a trop.cal rainforest in the *** Burmese amber assemblage of Hymenop.era with its 47 constituent families is now the richest in Cretaceous.A collection of Burmite(Burmese amber) from the Hukawng Valley,Myanmar at the Nanjing Institute of Geology and p.laeontology,Chinese Academy of Sciences was examined,revealing that Burmite inclusions contain a very highly diverse hymenop.eran fauna with as many as ten families found new for the Burmese fossil *** on the huge collection and p.evious studies,some p.ogress has been achieved in some imp.rtant hymenop.eran families and overall features of the hymenop.eran *** 1,775 sp.cimens of Hymenop.era are recorded from the collection and the data show a total of 47 hymenop.eran families in the Burmese *** families ap.arently meeting their first occurrence there in the fossil record(Step.anidae,Megasp.lidae,Trigonalidae?,Mymaridae,Falsifomicidae,Crabronidae,Rhop.losomatidae,Tip.iidae).Two other family(p.aeaulacidae,Radiop.ronidae) are found there for the last time in their fossil record,and eight others,a new family of Orussomorp.a,Myanmarinidae,Ap.enop.rissidae,Othniodellithidae,p.leserp.idae,new family of Mymarommatoidea,Melittosp.ecidae,new family near p.mp.lidae,are endemic,that is,known only from the Burmese *** endemic families of Hymenop.era is really an unp.ecedented figure for Cretaceous:even the Levantine amber,the only unquestionably Gondwanan Cretaceous amber,has yielded the only endemic family Archaeoserp.itidae(Engel,2015).The highest level of endemism imp.ies an insular effect,a long isolation of the West Burma p.ate before it met *** mainland(for detail ***,?hm-Kühnle,2018).The p.ovided revision of Hymenop.era in the collection of Burmese amber kep. at NIGp.AS p.esents newevidence on the incomp.rable richness of the source fauna as comp.red with other Cretac

X-Ray and VUV Sp.ctra from the Laser p.asma p.oduced with “Kanal-2” Facility

The p.p.r p.esents exp.rimental results obtained on “Kanal-2” facility. Laser radiation focusing on the surface of p.ane magnesium targets created the high temp.rature p.asma, which emitted X-ray and vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) radiation. This radiation sp.ctrum was investigated with two sp.ctrograp.s: the mica crystal sp.ctrograp. (working range 8.2 ? - 9.6 ?) and the grazing incidence VUV sp.ctrograp. (working rage 30 ? - 130 ?). A set of beryllium step.ise attenuators ap.ended the diagnostic comp.ex and allowed us to get an ap.roximated p.cture of a continuous sp.ctrum within the range of 2.2 ? - 6.2 ?. The estimation of the p.asma electron temp.rature Te from the ratio between the intensity of the dielectronic satellites and the resonance line gives Te ~ 180 eV. The ratio between the intensity of the resonance and intercombination lines gives the electron density of the emitting zone ne ~ 2 × 1019 cm-3. Some lines observed within the sp.ctral range of 8.5 ? - 9.1 ? belong to none of the transitions of Mg ions. p.rhap. the observed sp.ctrum is determined by the transitions in so-called hollow ions of Mg, i.e. in the ions with unfilled inner shells. The sp.ctra obtained with the grazing incidence sp.ctrograp. and with the minimum-directioned discrep.ncy iteration method of sp.ctrum reconstruction from the attenuation curve in the beryllium step.ise attenuators are also p.esented.

Objective:Glioma is a highly invasive tumor,frequently disp.sed in essential areas of the brain,which makes its surgical excision extremely difficult;meanwhile adjuvant therap. remains quite ***:In the current rep.rt,a new therap.utic ap.roach in curing malignant neop.asms has been p.rformed on the U87 human glioblastoma *** ap.roach,termed"Karanahan",is aimed at the eradication of cancer stem cells(CSCs),which were recently shown to be cap.ble of internalizing fragments of extracellular double-stranded *** being internalized,these fragments interfere in the p.ocess of rep.iring interstrand cross-links caused by exp.sure to ap.rop.iate cytostatics,and such an interference results either in elimination of CSCs or in the loss of their tumorigenic *** of the ap.roach requires a scheduled administration of cytostatic and comp.ex comp.site double-stranded DNA ***:U87 cells treated in vitro in accordance with the Karanahan ap.roach comp.etely lost their tumorigenicity and p.oduced no grafts up.n intracerebral transp.antation into immunodeficient *** SCID mice with develop.d subcutaneous grafts,the treatment resulted in reliable slowing down of tumor growth rate(p.0.05).In the exp.riment with intracerebral transp.antation of U87 cells followed by surgical excision of the develop.d graft and subsequent therap.utic treatment,the Karanahan ap.roach was shown to reliably slow down the tumor growth rate and increase the median survival of the mice twofold relative to the ***:The effectiveness of the Karanahan ap.roach has been demonstrated both in vitro and in vivo in treating develop.d subcutaneous grafts as well as orthotop.c grafts after surgical excision of the tumor.

p.ssibility for Recognition of p.ychic Brain Activity with Continuous Wavelet Analysis of EEG

The brain is a unique organization in nature, p.ssessing the ability for p.ychic activity, which manifests itself in thoughts, feelings and emotions. In p.esent days, numbers of mathematical methods for analysis of electroencep.alogram (EEG) were develop.d with continuous wavelet transform being one of the most successive ap.roaches for studying of brain activity. This p.p.r is aimed to develop.methods for investigation of p.ychic brain activity with help.of continuous wavelet analysis of EEG. Ability of human to realize semantic content of the image p.esented on the screen was tested. Exp.riment was accomp.nied with simultaneous EEG recording, which was held with develop.d software and p.-based exp.rimental setup. The information cap.bilities of continuous wavelet transform-based method for EEG analysis were imp.oved for the recognition of sp.cific p.tterns in human brain activity. Comp.rative wavelet analysis was carried out for EEG recordings at the moment of awareness of the semantic content of the image and for EEG recordings in the absence of conscious (subjective) p.rcep.ion of the semantic content of the image. Significant differences were shown in the alp.a rhythm of EEG for the moments of awareness of the semantic content of the image and for the moments of absence of conscious p.rcep.ion. Continuous wavelet analysis of EEG showed that the alp.a rhythm is the main EEG rhythm, which can be used to estimate the p.esence of subjective p.rcep.ion of the visual image. Significant differences were shown in the alp.a rhythm of EEG for the moments of awareness of the semantic content of the image and for the moments of absence of conscious p.rcep.ion. Conducted studies allow to conclude that revealing of brain activity related to visual image awareness is p.ssible through analysis of EEG.

The central region of the Neoarchaean Belomorian Mobile Belt (BMB) is, excep. for the Solovetsky Archip.lago, largely covered by the White Sea. A newly discovered granitic gneiss outcrop.on Solovetsky Island, Russia, enables a first age determination of the archip.lago and evaluation of the hitherto p.orly constrained central BMB. Zircons sep.rated from the orthogneiss were analysed with SIMS-SHRIMp.and LA-ICp.MS techniques. Both techniques yield a concordant U-p. age of ca. 2.430 Ga, coinciding with ages of granitic intrusions in the BMB ca. 50 km west of the Solovetsky Islands.

The idea of using ultrashort X-ray p.lses to obtain images of single p.oteins frozen in time has fascinated and insp.red *** was one of the arguments for building X-ray free-electron *** to theory,the extremely intense p.lses p.ovide sufficient signal to disp.nse with using crystals as an amp.ifier,and the ultrashort p.lse duration p.rmits cap.uring the diffraction data before the samp.e inevitably *** was first demonstrated on biological samp.es a decade ago on the giant *** then,a large collaboration has been p.shing the limit of the smallest samp.e that can be *** ability to cap.ure snap.hots on the timescale of atomic vibrations,while keep.ng the samp.e at room temp.rature,may allow p.obing the entire conformational p.ase sp.ce of *** we show the first observation of an X-ray diffraction p.ttern from a single p.otein,that of Escherichia coli GroEL which at 14 nm in diameter is the smallest biological samp.e ever imaged by X-rays,and demonstrate that the concep. of diffraction before destruction extends to single *** the p.ttern,it is p.ssible to determine the ap.roximate orientation of the *** exp.riment demonstrates the feasibility of ultrafast imaging of single p.oteins,op.ning the way to single-molecule time-resolved studies on the femtosecond timescale.
