Large quantities of natural aggregates(nA)are required in the manufacturing of asphalt mixtures for *** extraction of nA generates high environmental impacts that negatively affect environmental preservation and *** alternative materials obtained in construction and demolition processes in civil construction worked have been studies as possible replacements for nA,with the purpose of reducing these environmental *** foregoing study presents a state of knowledge review referring to the use of recycled concrete aggregates(RCA)when these are used in the manufacturing of asphalt mixtures(mainly hot-mix asphalt HMA type).Environmental aspects are presented,as well as possible benefits and limitations of using RCA as replacements for nA in asphalt ***,it is not possible to establish a behavior pattern,since the characteristics of the RCA are very heterogeneous and vary from the original source of the *** is highlighted from the literature that RCA has a wide potential for use in the manufacture of asphalt mixtures,since in most studies,the mixtures with these materials comply the quality requirements contemplated by the construction specifications,mainly in low-volume ***,based on the literature review,some recommendations and suggestions are presented for future research.

novel ZnSe/niO heterostructure nanocomposites were successfully prepared by one-step hydrothermal *** ZnSe/niO-based sensor exhibits a response of~96.47% to 8×10^(-6) nO_(2) at 140℃,which is significantly higher than those of intrinsic ZnSe-based(no response)and niO-based(~19.65%)*** theoretical detection limit(LOD)of the sensor is calculated to be 8.91×10^(-9),indicating that the sensor can be applied to detect the ultralow concentrations of nO_(2).The effect of niO content on the gas-sensing performance of the nanocomposites was investigated in *** optimal niO content in the nanocomposite is determined to be15.16%to achieve the highest *** as-fabricated sensor also presents an excellent selectivity to several possible interferents such as methanol,ethanol,acetone,benzene,ammonia and *** enhanced sensing performance can be attributed to the formation of p-p heterostructures between ZnSe and niO,which induces the charge transfer across the interfaces and yields more active sites.

Serum testosterone does not correlate with androgen tissue activity, and it is critical to optimize tools to evaluate such activity in males. Ultrasound measurement of bulbocavernosus muscle （BCM） was used to assess the relationship between the number of CAG repeats （CAGn） in the androgen receptor （AR） and the BCM size; the changes in the number of CAGn over age were also evaluated. Transperineal ultrasound measurement of the BCM was also performed. AR CAGn were determined by high performance liquid chromatography, and morning hormone levels were determined using immunoassays. Forty-eight men had CAG repeat analysis. Twenty-five were 〈30 years of age, mean 23.7 years （s.d, = 3.24） and 23 were 〉45 years of age, mean 53years （s.d. = 5.58）. The median CAGn was 21 （13-29）. BCM area was greater when the number of CAGn were 〈18 as compared to the number of CAGn 〉24 （P= 0.04）. There was a linear correlation between the number of CAGn and the BCM area R^2= 16% （P= 0.01）. In the 45 to 65-years-old group, a much stronger negative correlation （R^2 = 29%, P= 0.01） was noticed. In the 19 to 29-years-old group, no such correlation was found （R2 = 4%, P = 0.36）. In older men, the number of CAGn increased with age （R^2 = 32%, P= 0.01）. The number of CAGn in the AR correlates with the area of the BCM. Ultrasound assessment of the BCM is an effective surrogate to evaluate end-organ activity of androgens. The number of CAGn may increase with age.

First-principles approaches have been successful in solving many-body Hamiltonians for real materials to an extent when correlations are weak or *** the electronic correlations become stronger often embedding methods based on first-principles approaches are used to better treat the correlations by solving a suitably chosen many-body Hamiltonian with a higher level *** success of such embedding theories,often referred to as second-principles,is commonly measured by the quality of self-energy E which is either a function of energy or momentum or ***,E should,in principle,also modify the electronic eigenfunctions and thus change the real space charge *** such practices are not prevalent,some works that use embedding techniques do take into account these *** such cases,choice of partitioning,of the parameters defining the correlated Hamiltonian,of double-counting corrections,and the adequacy of low-level Hamiltonian hosting the correlated subspace hinder a systematic and unambiguous understanding of such ***,for a large variety of correlated systems,strong correlations are largely confined to the charge *** an adequate non local low-order theory is important,and the high-order local correlations embedding contributes become *** we study the impact of charge self-consistency within two example cases,TiSez and CrBrs,and show how real space charge re-distribution due to correlation effects taken *** within a first-principles Green's function-based many-body perturbative approach is key in driving qualitative changes to the final electronic structure of these materials.

We experimentally study the transport properties of dipolar and fundamental modes on one dimensional(1D) coupled waveguide arrays. By carefully modulating a wide optical beam, we are able to effectively excite dipolar or fundamental modes to study discrete diffraction(single-site excitation) and gaussian beam propagation(multi-site excitation plus a phase gradient). We observe that dipolar modes experience a larger spreading area due to an effective larger coupling constant, which is found to be more than two times larger than the one for fundamental modes. Additionally, we study the effect of non-diagonal disorder and find that while fundamental modes are already trapped on a weakly disorder array, dipoles are still able to propagate across the system.

Low frequency Raman spectra of(Pb_(0.97)La_(0.02)T(Zr_(0.864)Sn_(0.04)Ti_(0.096))O_(3)ceramic samples have been studied near cubic to antiferroelectric phase transition at about 200℃.A set of low frequency soft modes were observed restoring below the transition point,in addition to the known one above 100 cm^(-1).These modes show strong damping anomalies at the transition point that supposes considerable intermode interactions via dampings.

Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)is an autoimmune disease that is a challenge to diagnose and *** is an urgent need for biomarkers to help define organ involvement,and more effective therapies.A unique population of T cells,the CD3^(+)CD4^(−)CD8^(−)(Dneg)cells,is significantly increased in lupus *** cases(53%)of pediatric SLE patients had elevated Dneg cells in their peripheral blood,which correlated with kidney function(R^(2)=0.54).Significant infiltration of Dneg cells was observed in both adult and pediatric lupus kidneys by *** the first time,this study provides direct evidence that Dneg cells facilitate kidney injury in preclinical 8-week-old MRL/lpr lupus *** lupus mice,the increase in Dneg cells tracked with worsening disease and correlated with kidney function(R^(2)=0.85).Our results show that Dneg cells per se can cause kidney dysfunction,increase in number with increase in disease pathology,and could serve as a potential biomarker.
