Acoustic emission characterization of sliding wear under condition of direct and inverse transformations in lowtemperature degradation aged Y-TZP and Y-TZP-Al_2O_3

In this research, results of the investigation of the sliding friction and wear of yttria-stabilized tetragonal zirconia polycrystalline(Y-TZP) and Y-TZP-Al_2O_3 samples preliminarily subjected to low-temperature degradation are reported. The investigation was carried out using a pin-on-disk tribometer with simultaneous recording of acoustic emission(AE) and vibration acceleration. The sliding wear process was found to be determined by dynamic direct and inverse Y-TZP transformations detected by monoclinic and tetragonal X-ray diffraction peak ratios. The AE signals generated under direct and inverse transformations can be used to characterize wear and friction mechanisms as well as direct and inversed sliding-induced phase transformations. The AE signal energy grows with the friction coefficient and the inverse transformation degree. Reduction of the AE signal energy indicates establishing the mild wear stage caused by effective stress-induced direct martensitic transformation. The AE signal median frequency increases in the case of lower friction. Numerical studies of wear subsurface fracture under conditions of stress-induced martensitic transformation were used to elucidate the role played by the phase transformation in Y-TZP and Y-TZP-Al_2O_3. Martensitic transformation in Y-TZP was described with use of the non-associated dilatant plasticity model. Simulation results particularly show that increase in the value of dilatancy coefficient from 0 to 0.2 is accompanied by 25%-30% reduce in characteristic length and penetration depth of sliding-induced subsurface cracks. As shown the AE may be an effective tool for in-situ monitoring the subsurface wear of materials experiencing both direct and inverse transformations.

The phase transformation and magnetic hysteresis properties of melt-spun Fe41 Pd41 B8 Si6 P4 ribbons subjected to the annealing at temperatures of 500-550℃were studied after holding for 0.1-60.0 h by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and thermomagnetic *** additions of P,B and Si to the FePd alloy allowed us to achieve the coercivity of124 kA·m-1,which is 2.6 times higher than that of the melt-spun ribbons of the binary equiatomic FePd *** high-coercivity Fe41Pd41B8 Si6 P4 alloy is nanocrystalline and is composed of the ordered L10-phase grains approximately 40 nm in size and inclusions of the Fe2(P,B)and Pd2(Si,B)*** coercivity kinetics is controlled by the phase transformation which can be divided into three stages:transformation from the bcc structure to nanosized regions of the fee and Fe2 P phases;transformation from the fee to L10 nanosized regions with somewhat different degrees of tetragonality and their ordering;and extensive growth of the weight fraction of L10 phase from the fee nanosized regions.P and B atoms occupy interstitial sites in the iron plane of L10 lattice,thus decreasing its Curie temperature(TC).

A double holmium-silver sulfate was obtained for the first *** temperature intervals for the formation and stability of the compound were determined by differential scanning *** crystal structure of AgHo(SO_(4))_(2)was determined by Rietveld *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)analysis showed that the compound crystallizes in the monoclinic syngony,space group P2_1/m,with the unit cell parameters a=4.71751(4)A,b=6.84940(6)A and c=9.89528(9)A,β=95.1466(4)·,V=318.448(5)A^(3),Z=2,R_B=1.55%,T=303 *** types of sulfate tetrahedra were found in the structure,which significantly affected the spectral properties in the infrared *** the temperature range of 143-703 K,a negative thermal expansion along the b direction accompanied by a positive thermal expansion along the a and c directions was *** was established that negative thermal expansion is the result of the deformation of sulfate tetrahedra,which is affected by the movement of holmium and silver *** excitation in the blue spectral range(457.9 nm)produces a luminescence in light blue(489 nm),green(545 nm)and red(654 nm)spectral ranges,and the latter two were of comparable intensity that is favorable for WLED *** observed luminescent band distribution is ascribed to the specific crystal field at Ho^(3+)ion sites rather than a variation of radiationless probability.

Numerical Simulation for Investigation and Design of Steel Strip Induction Heating Lines for Rolling Mills

Continuous steel strip casting lines in rolling miles are under active *** to high thermal losses the thin strip is cooling down very fast and therefore a sufficient heating system is necessary before final *** induction heaters can realize the necessary fast heating of the strip and a good energy efEciency of *** of induction heating lines for rolling mills are of extremely high power,all even small improvements in their design and operating modes have significant technical and economical ***,the heating lines need an optimal design of the complex induction systems and only numerical simulation is a way to solve the *** two- and threedimensional numerical simulation approaches developed and applied for investigation and design of longitudinal induction heaters are described in the *** numerical models have been successfully used for development of modified coils allowing high efficient heating of thinner strip using the same operating *** electrical impedance of the modified coils has been provided on the level necessary for using the existing power supplies and matching *** high electrical efficiency,the modified coils improve the temperature distribution over the strip width by increased heating of the strip *** optimized and modifies induction coils have been successfully tested in industrial line.

Factorization of Functional Operators with Involutive Rotation on the Unit Circle

Following the classical definition of factorization of matrix-functions, we introduce a definition of factorization for functional operators with involutive rotation on the unit circle. Partial indices are defined and their uniqueness is proven. In previous works, the main research method for the study scalar singular integral operators and Riemann boundary value problems with Carlemann shift were operator identities, which allowed to eliminate shift and to reduce scalar problems to matrix problems without shift. In this study, the operator identities were used for the opposite purpose: to transform operators of multiplication by matrix-functions into scalar operators with Carlemann linear-fractional shift.

Argyrophilic nucleolar organizer region in MIB-1 positive cells in non-small cell lung cancer: clinicopathological significance and survival

Objective:To evaluate the relation between argyrophilic nucleolar organizer region(Ag NOR)-associated proteins and clinicopathological parameters and survival in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods:A total of 207 surgical specimens diagnosed as NSCLC were included in this ***-staining procedures were performed using antigen Ki-67(clone MIB-1)and silver nitrate by immunohistochemical and Ag NOR-staining ***:The Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells of NSCLC is related to clinicopathological parameters under the TNM(tumor,node,and metastasis)*** survival of patients with small Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells is better than that of patients with large Ag NOR ***,biological(Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells),and clinicopathological(greatest tumor dimension,metastases to regional lymph nodes,histology,and differentiation)parameters are independent prognostic factors of ***:The Ag NOR area in MIB-1-positive cells is related to clinicopathological parameters and survival in NSCLC.

Determination of the Optimal Speed of Pultrusion for Large-Sized Composite Rods

The paper describes a mathematical model of the stress-strain state of polymer composite materials in the pultrusion process of large-sized products. The influence of the pull speed on the stress-strain state of the products is investigated. To determine the maximum possible pull speed series of solutions at different pull speeds are obtained. Depending on the maximum strain in the cross section of the rod determined the optimal value of pulling speed.
