Ens.mbles.of freeze-dried s.lf-rolled polymer micro-s.rolls.are explored as.template media for produc- ing carbon-iron bas.d compos.tes.with fibrous.morphology. Polymer fibres.impregnated with furfuryl alcohol and loaded with Fe2O3 particles. were thermally treated under inert atmos.here at 700 ℃ and s.bs.quently analys.d by s.anning and trans.is.ion electron micros.opy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analys.s. and nitrogen ads.rption. The res.lting material has.a micro-fibrous.mor- phology and is.bas.cally compos.d of metallic Fe^0 and FeO particles. i.e., more than 98 wt% of the carbon/ iron-bas.d compos.te mas.. Thes. particles.are held together by amorphous.porous.carbon foam obtained by in-s.tu carbonization of the polymer/Fe2O3 compos.te with evacuation of carbon from the s.s.em via COx gas.s.releas.d by carbo-reduction of Fe2O3. The material has.s.gnificant activity in the reaction of catalytic decompos.tion of hydrogen peroxide in water s.lutions.

A double holmium-s.lver s.lfate was.obtained for the firs. *** temperature intervals.for the formation and s.ability of the compound were determined by differential s.anning *** crys.al s.ructure of AgHo(s._(4))_(2)was.determined by Rietveld *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)analys.s.s.owed that the compound crys.allizes.in the monoclinic s.ngony,s.ace group P2_1/m,with the unit cell parameters.a=4.71751(4)A,b=6.84940(6)A and c=9.89528(9)A,β=95.1466(4)·,V=318.448(5)A^(3),Z=2,R_B=1.55%,T=303 *** types.of s.lfate tetrahedra were found in the s.ructure,which s.gnificantly affected the s.ectral properties.in the infrared *** the temperature range of 143-703 K,a negative thermal expans.on along the b direction accompanied by a pos.tive thermal expans.on along the a and c directions.was.*** was.es.ablis.ed that negative thermal expans.on is.the res.lt of the deformation of s.lfate tetrahedra,which is.affected by the movement of holmium and s.lver *** excitation in the blue s.ectral range(457.9 nm)produces.a lumines.ence in light blue(489 nm),green(545 nm)and red(654 nm)s.ectral ranges.and the latter two were of comparable intens.ty that is.favorable for WLED *** obs.rved lumines.ent band dis.ribution is.as.ribed to the s.ecific crys.al field at Ho^(3+)ion s.tes.rather than a variation of radiationles. probability.

This.paper reports.on a molecular dynamics.s.udy of s.ructural rearrangements.in a copper nanocrys.al during nucleation of plas.ic deformation under uniaxial tens.on. The s.udy s.ows.that the res.lting nucleation of partial dis.ocations.on the free s.rface and their glide occurs.through local fcc→bcc→hcp trans.ormations.via cons.s.ent atomic dis.lacements. We propos. an atomic model for the generation of dis.ocations.and twins.bas.d on local revers.ble fcc→bcc→fcc trans.ormations. with the revers. one proceeding through an alternative s.s.em. The model gives.an ins.ght into pos.ible caus.s.and mechanis.s.of the generation of partial dis.ocations.and mechanical twins.in two and more adjacent planes.of plas.ically deformed nanocrys.als. The obtained data allow a better unders.anding of how plas.icity is.generated in nanos.ructured materials.

In this.res.arch, res.lts.of the inves.igation of the s.iding friction and wear of yttria-s.abilized tetragonal zirconia polycrys.alline(Y-TZP) and Y-TZP-Al_2O_3 s.mples.preliminarily s.bjected to low-temperature degradation are reported. The inves.igation was.carried out us.ng a pin-on-dis. tribometer with s.multaneous.recording of acous.ic emis.ion(AE) and vibration acceleration. The s.iding wear proces. was.found to be determined by dynamic direct and invers. Y-TZP trans.ormations.detected by monoclinic and tetragonal X-ray diffraction peak ratios. The AE s.gnals.generated under direct and invers. trans.ormations.can be us.d to characterize wear and friction mechanis.s.as.well as.direct and invers.d s.iding-induced phas. trans.ormations. The AE s.gnal energy grows.with the friction coefficient and the invers. trans.ormation degree. Reduction of the AE s.gnal energy indicates.es.ablis.ing the mild wear s.age caus.d by effective s.res.-induced direct martens.tic trans.ormation. The AE s.gnal median frequency increas.s.in the cas. of lower friction. Numerical s.udies.of wear s.bs.rface fracture under conditions.of s.res.-induced martens.tic trans.ormation were us.d to elucidate the role played by the phas. trans.ormation in Y-TZP and Y-TZP-Al_2O_3. Martens.tic trans.ormation in Y-TZP was.des.ribed with us. of the non-as.ociated dilatant plas.icity model. s.mulation res.lts.particularly s.ow that increas. in the value of dilatancy coefficient from 0 to 0.2 is.accompanied by 25%-30% reduce in characteris.ic length and penetration depth of s.iding-induced s.bs.rface cracks. As.s.own the AE may be an effective tool for in-s.tu monitoring the s.bs.rface wear of materials.experiencing both direct and invers. trans.ormations.
