Parasitic isopods(family Bopyridae)and burrowing barnacles(family Trypetesidae)infesting hermit crabs were investigated from shallow subtidal collections made along the southeastern coast of Spain in 2009.A total of 713 specimens of Clibanarius erythropus(Latreille,1818)and 82 Calcinus tubularis(L.,1767)were *** shells and worm tubes inhabited by hermit crabs were collected by hand while snorkeling and were cracked to determine host species,size,sex and presence of *** species of bopyrid isopods were found on ***:the branchial parasite Bopyrissa fraiseii(Carayon,1943)and the abdominal parasite Parathelges cardonae Codreanu and Codreanu in Codreanu,*** all *** examined,Bopyrissa fraiseii was found on 0.6%of hermit crabs and *** was found on 0.3%.A redescription of *** is provided and the species is documented with light and scanning electron microscopy for the first *** Calcinus tubularis harbored parasitic isopods,but one specimen was parasitized by an unidentified rhizocephalan barnacle of the genus Septosaccus(1.2%).The burrowing barnacle Trypetesa lampas(Hancock,1849)was found associated with both hermit crab species and evidence of predation on host eggs by this barnacle is shown for the first *** lampas was found in 4.2%of the shells *** present study expands our knowledge of the parasite fauna of hermit crabs from the Mediterranean Sea and indicates that additional research is needed to determine the impact of trypetesid egg predators on hermit crab populations.

We present a molecular phylogenetic study of the lichen genus Sticta focusing on Colombia,using the ITS fungal barcoding gene for a total of 370 ingroup OTUs,with 322 newly generated *** topology resulting from a maximum likelihood approach does not support current species concepts in Sticta,which use a morphological concept,but in contrast shows that similar morphodemes evolved multiple times independently within the *** a consequence,currently applied names such as *** and *** comprise numerous(up to more than 20)unrelated species-level lineages,which can be distinguished also phenotypically using previously unrecognized characters such as lobe configuration,lobe surface structure,tomentum type,and anatomy of the basal membrane of the *** conclude that the genus Sticta contains about four to five times the number of species currently *** Colombia alone,approximately 150 species of Sticta are present.

Because of the growing worldwide demand for maize grain,new alternatives have been sought for breeding of this cereal,e.g.,development of polyembryonic varieties,which agronomic performance could positively impact the grain yield per unit area,and nutritional *** objectives of this study were to(1)determine the phytochemicals present in the embryo and endosperm of grain from maize families with high,low,and null polyembryony frequency,which were planted at different locations,and(2)state the relationship between these compounds and seed *** extracted phytochemicals from corn were identified by *** results showed that the genotype with the highest presence of phytochemicals was the brachytic population with high polyembryony called“BAP”,which also required less water during the germination *** number of phytochemicals in both embryo and endosperm tissues was not related to the sowing location where they came from or the type of *** number of different phytochemicals depended on the grain tissue from where they were *** chemical compounds found in the different maize tissues were related to the development of the plant,either in roots or nibs because these are mainly associated with the lignin synthesis.

本文对巴拿马碰撞法律法规,尤其是与海上碰撞事故中确定碰撞责任和碰撞损害赔偿相关的法律法规,进行了详细的研究。本文分析了一般情况下巴拿马管辖权对船舶碰撞案件的适用及范围,并明确了在巴拿马法律体系中没有确定船舶碰撞事故责任分担和责任主体的规定也是现存的问题之一。除此之外,本文还对如何通过比较法研究借鉴国外法律体系中确定船舶碰撞案件中责任主体的法律规定进行了阐述,并明确建立一个能够确定碰撞责任并确保责任主体支付到期赔偿的法律制度具有重要意义。本文还探讨了船舶碰撞案件中的民事责任,即对民事注意义务进行了阐述,对过失、损害以及因果关系等具体问题进行了分析。据预测,一般情况下船舶碰撞风险是主要风险之一,这一风险致使司法机关需要对由哪一方承担此次海事事故所造成的损害赔偿责任展开司法调查。本文选题源于修订和完善巴拿马法律以确定碰撞事故中谁是责任主体、谁来赔偿以及如何赔偿的需求。为了满足这一需求,本文对巴拿马现行法律进行分析,并将其与其他国家的法律进行比较研究。本文建议修改《巴拿马商事海商法》,在其中增加在船舶碰撞案件中确定碰撞责任主体以及责任比例的条款。因为这些条款有助于在碰撞发生时确定碰撞过失、责任以及责任主体,并为碰撞事故的裁判提供一个框架。这表明本文对此领域的研究具有重要意义。然而,还需要完善巴拿马船舶碰撞法规,以确定碰撞发生时的责任主体。

Regulatory T cells(Tregs)play a pivotal role in immune-tolerance,and loss of Treg function can lead to the development of *** Tregs generated in the thymus substantially contribute to the Treg pool in the periphery,where they suppress self-reactive effector T cells(Teff)***,we showed that OX40L(TNFSF4)is able to drive selective proliferation of peripheral Tregs independent of canonical antigen presentation(CAP-independent)in the presence of low-dose ***,we hypothesized that OX40 signaling might be integral to the TCR-independent phase of murine and human thymic Treg(tTreg)*** of tTregs is a two-step process:Strong T-cell receptor(TCR)signals in combination with co-signals from the TNFRSF members facilitate tTreg precursor selection,followed by a TCR-independent phase of tTreg development in which their maturation is driven by ***,we investigated whether OX40 signaling could also play a critical role in the TCR-independent phase of tTreg ***40−/−mice had significantly reduced numbers of CD25−Foxp3low tTreg precursors and CD25+Foxp3+mature tTregs,while OX40L treatment of WT mice induced significant proliferation of these cell *** to tTeff cells,OX40 was expressed at higher levels in both murine and human tTreg precursors and mature *** ex vivo cultures,OX40L increased tTreg maturation and induced CAP-independent proliferation of both murine and human tTregs,which was mediated through the activation of AKT-mTOR *** novel findings show an evolutionarily conserved role for OX40 signaling in tTreg development and proliferation,and might enable the development of novel strategies to increase Tregs and suppress autoimmunity.

Objective To report the outcomes of intra-and extra-peritoneal robot-assisted radical prostatectomy(RARP)and robot-assisted radical cystectomy(RARC)with Hugo™robot-assisted surgery(RAS)system(Medtronic,Minneapolis,MN,USA).Methods Data of twenty patients who underwent RARP and one RARC at our institution between February 2022 and January 2023 were *** primary endpoint of the study was to report the surgical setting of Hugo™RAS system to perform RARP and *** secondary endpoint was to assess the feasibility of RARP and RARC with this novel robotic platform and report the *** Seventeen patients underwent RARP with a transperitoneal approach,and three with an extraperitoneal approach;and one patient underwent RARC with intracorporeal ileal *** intraoperative complications *** docking and console time were 12(interquartile range[IQR]7-16)min and 185(IQR 177-192)min for transperitoneal RARP,15(IQR 12-17)min and 170(IQR 162-185)min for extraperitoneal *** intraoperative complications *** patient submitted to extraperitoneal RARP had a urinary tract infection in the postoperative period that required an antibiotic treatment(Clavien-Dindo Grade 2).In case of transperitoneal RARP,two minor complications occurred(one pelvic hematoma and one urinary tract infection;both Clavien-Dindo Grade 2).Conclusion Hugo™RAS system is a novel promising robotic platform that allows to perform major oncological pelvic *** showed the feasibility of RARP both intra-and extra-peritoneally and RARC with intracorporeal ileal conduit with this novel platform.

Background : The objective of this study was to validate an animal model for dry eye during and after the administration of 1% ophthalmic atropine sulfate(OAS) in New Zealand white(NZW) *** : OAS(1%) was applied three times per day to 30 eyes of 15 healthy NZW rabbits. Sacrifice, enucleation, and lacrimal gland removal took place on days 15, 21,and 30(OAS group). A second group(n = 5) was used as control. Clinical evaluations took place on days 3, 10, 15, 18, 21, 24 and 30. The primary endpoints were:Schirmer I test, tear break-up time(TBUT), and corneal fluorescein staining. As secondary endpoints, clinical changes including intraocular pressure, and histopathology were *** : While OAS was administered, the Schirmer I test showed a statistically significant reduction for OAS group versus control( p versus basal production( p versus basal values(day 3;p val hyperemia(76.9% OAS vs. 20% control). For histopathology, all OAS subjects presented some degree of inflammation(86.7% minimal;13.3% mild) whereas the control presented only 30% minimal inflammation. One of the biggest challenges in the biocompatibility of implantable metals is the prevention of the stress shielding effect,which is related to the coupling of the bone-metal mechanical *** stress shielding phenomenon provokes bone resorption and the consequent adverse effects on prosthesis ***,it can be inhibited by adapting the stiffness of the implant *** the use of titanium(Ti)porous structures is a great alternative not only to inhibit this effect but also to improve the osteointegration of orthopedic and dental implants,a brief description of the techniques used for their manufacturing and a review of the current commercialized implants produced from porous Ti assemblies are compiled in this *** powder metallurgy(PM)with space holder(SH)is a powerful technology used to produce porous Ti structures,it is here discussed its potential for the fabrication of medical devices from the perspectives of both design and *** most important parameters of the technique such as the size and shape of the initial metallic particles,the SH and binder type of materials,the compaction pressure of the green form,and in the sintering stage,the temperature,atmosphere,and time are reviewed according to the bibliography ***,the importance of the porosity and its types together with the influence of the mentioned parameters in the final porosity and,consequently,in the ultimate mechanical properties of the structure are ***,a few examples of the PM-SH application for the manufacturing of orthopedic implants are presented.

In this paper, we analyze and compare nest composition and architecture as well as worker relatedness in three related species of slave-making ants： Rossomyrmex anatolicus, R. minuchae, and R. quandratinodum. Colony structure within nests is an important trait in ants, especially in the case of mixed societies, when host and parasite coexist in the same nest. Data for their respective free-living hosts, Proformica korbi, P.. longiseta and P. sp., are also provided. For our study, we integrated a meticulous excava- tion procedure with a genetic method. We conclude that the average number of parasites, as well as of slaves, is species-specific, whereas nest depth depends on the nest archi- tecture of the host. The genus Rossomyrmex seems to be monogynous and monandrous, whereas Proformica shows differences in the number of queens and mating frequency. R. quandratinodum shows different traits in nest composition （host/parasite ratio： P/R） and architecture. The difference in traits may account for some differences in parasitism： raid process or avoidance of parasitism.

Objective: To analyze the largest outbreak of dengue in Argentina in the municipality of Tigre during 2016, through detailed spatial analyses of the occurrence of cases in relation to demographic factors and vector control actions. Methods: Detailed and georreferenced data on dengue cases with laboratory results(NS1 or IgM) were analyzed. The occurrences of imported and autochthonous cases by census tract were modeled using demographic variables(population by age class, proportion of foreigners, proportion with university grade, proportion of males), dwelling variables(number of homes, proportion of dwellings with latrine, number of dwellings, proportion of houses, proportion of flats, proportion of slums) and census tract area as explanatory variables. The probability of occurrence of autochthonous and imported cases was modeled separately. The spatio-temporal occurrence of cases was studied in relation to focal and perifocal control actions(involving education campaigns, removal of Aedes aegypti breeding sites and exhaustive insecticide spraying) to assess the efficiency in stopping autochthonous cases spreading. Results: All autochthonous cases occurred in the urban environment with no sylvan cases. The majority of the imported cases registered came from Paraguay and Northeastern Argentina. The age structure of imported and autochthonous cases did not differ from the age structure of the municipality, while that of the negative cases *** studied spatially, the occurrence of imported cases by census tract was mildly associated with a higher proportion of foreign population and more people at active age, while occurrence of autochthonous cases was not significantly associated with any of the studied *** census tracts with laboratory confirmed results, the models showed higher probability of autochthonous cases related to higher population density and population age structure.
