Prime Mover Capacity Optimization and Thermodynamic Performance Analysis of Internal Combustion Engine Based CCHP System

In this research,a solar hybrid combined cooling heating and power(CCHP)system is proposed considering the different scenarios of Prime Movers(PMs)and the part-load performance of PMs is validated by the designed values from the manufacturer of ***,a multi-optimization model based on a genetic algorithm is developed in order to select both the most promising performance PM and the most cost-effectiveness,environmentally friendly number of collectors for the proposed CCHP system,*** the hourly performance of this solar hybrid CCHP is determined through a case study of a hotel in *** show that the highest efficiency of the PM with larger capacity has the most promising performance and the collector number of 90 turns out to be a superior value for the hotel building based on the primary energy saving ratio of 61.61%.Moreover,on a typical summer day,the recovered waste heat and the solar energy can provide all the thermal energy demands,while,an auxiliary boiler should be started to fulfill the energy gap in both typical transition and winter *** the simulation result,the CO_(2) emissions can be reduced by 856.2 t/a due to the solar energy introduced into the ***,the dynamic investment payback period will change from 3.01 years to 3.56 years when the fuel price(P_(fuel))ranges from 0.8P_(fuel) to1.2P_(fuel).

A Transfer Learning-Based Approach to Detect Cerebral Microbleeds

Cerebral microbleeds are small chronic vascular diseases that occur because of irregularities in the cerebrum *** and elderly people with brain injury and dementia can have small microbleeds in their brains.A recent study has shown that cerebral microbleeds could be remarkably risky in terms of life and can be riskier for patients with *** this study,we proposed an efficient approach to automatically identify microbleeds by reducing the false positives in openly available susceptibility-weighted imaging(SWI)data *** proposed structure comprises two different pretrained convolutional models with four *** stages include(i)skull removal and augmentation,(ii)making clusters of data samples using the k-mean classifier,(iii)reduction of false positives for efficient performance,and(iv)transfer-learning *** proposed technique was assessed using the SWI dataset available for 20 *** our findings,we attained an accuracy of 97.26%with a 1.8%false-positive rate using data augmentation on the alexNet transfer learning model and a 1.1%false-positive rate with 97.89%accuracy for the ResNet 50 model with data augmentation *** results show that our models outperformed the existing approach for the detection of microbleeds.

Financing Strategy of Low-Carbon Supply Chain with Capital Constraint under Cap-and-Trade Regulation

Cap-and-trade regulation provides incentives for manufacturers to reduce carbon emissions,but manufacturers’insufficient capital can disrupt the implementation of low-carbon emission reduction *** alleviate capital constraints,manufacturers can adopt external financing for low-carbon emission reduction *** paper studies the independent financing and financing cooperation behavior in a supply chain in which the manufacturer and retailer first implement low-carbon emission reduction technologies and then organize production and sales in accordance with wholesale price *** comparing the optimal profits and low-carbon emission reduction levels under the independent financing and financing cooperation mode,we come to the following conclusions:(1)Although financing interest increases the cost of the supply chain,manufacturers prefer to invest in reducing carbon emissions rather than buying carbon quotas.(2)When financing independently,a decentralized decision-making mode(MD)is the best choice for manufacturers.(3)In cooperative financing,when the supply chain adopts a decentralized decision-making mode(SD)in which the retailer determines the financing cost-sharing ratio according to their optimal profit,the profits of the supply chain and its members are significantly improved.(4)When manufacturers and retailers adopt a centralized decision-making model(SC)in cooperative financing,they jointly determine the financing cost-sharing ratio and the level of low-carbon emission *** the financing cost-sharing ratio meets a certain threshold range,the profits of manufacturers and retailers achieve Pareto improvement,indicating that this cooperative financing model is effective.

Exploiting Data Science for Measuring the Performance of Technology Stocks

The rise or fall of the stock markets directly affects investors’interest and ***,it is necessary to measure the performance of stocks in the market in advance to prevent our assets from suffering significant *** our proposed study,six supervised machine learning(ML)strategies and deep learning(DL)models with long short-term memory(LSTM)of data science was deployed for thorough analysis and measurement of the performance of the technology *** discussion are Apple Inc.(AAPL),Microsoft Corporation(MSFT),Broadcom Inc.,Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited(TSM),NVIDIA Corporation(NVDA),and Avigilon Corporation(AVGO).The datasets were taken from the Yahoo Finance API from 06-05-2005 to 06-05-2022(seventeen years)with 4280 *** already noted,multiple studies have been performed to resolve this problem using linear regression,support vectormachines,deep long short-termmemory(LSTM),and many other *** this research,the Hidden Markov Model(HMM)outperformed other employed machine learning ensembles,tree-based models,the ARIMA(Auto Regressive IntegratedMoving Average)model,and long short-term memory with a robust mean accuracy score of *** statistical analyses and measurements for machine learning ensemble algorithms,the Long Short-TermModel,and ARIMA were also carried out for further investigation of the performance of advanced models for forecasting time series ***,the proposed research found the best model to be HMM,and LSTM was the second-best model that performed well in all aspects.A developedmodel will be highly recommended and helpful for early measurement of technology stock performance for investment or withdrawal based on the future stock rise or fall for creating smart environments.

Molecular Characterization of a Cytosolic Malate Dehydrogenase Gene（GhcMDH1） from Cotton

Malate dehydrogenase（MDH） is a key enzyme that catalyzes the reversible oxidation of oxaloacetate to malate and plays an important role in the physiological processes of plant growth and development. However, cyto- solic malate dehydrogenase（cMDH）, which is crucial for malate synthesis in the cytosol, still has not been extensively characterized in plants. Here, we isolated a cytosolic malate dehydrogenase gene, designated as GhcMDH1, from Gossypium hirsutum and characterized its possible molecular function in cotton fiber. The cloned cDNA of GhcMDH1 is 1520 base pairs in length, and has an open reading frame of 999 base pairs, encoding for 332 amino acid residues with an estimated molecular weight of 35580 and pI of 6.35. Sequence alignment showed that the de- duced amino acid sequence of GhcMDH1 protein shared a high similarity to other plant cMDHs. Confocal and im- munological analysis confirmed that GhcMDH1 protein was subcellularly localized to the cytosol. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction（PCR） revealed that GhcMDH1 was constitutively expressed in all vegetative cotton tissues, with slightly lower levels in roots than stems and leaves. Interestingly, the transcripts of GhcMDH1 were detected in 5--25 d post anthesis（DPA） fibers and highly abundant at 15 DPA fibers. The total MDH activities and malate contents of cotton fibers were positively correlated with the fiber elongation rates, suggesting that GhcMDH1 may function in malate synthesis in fast fiber elongation. In agreement with this suspicion, the recombi- nant His-GhcMDH1 protein mainly drives the reaction towards malate generation in vitro. In conclusion, our mole- cular characterization of the GhcMDH1 gene provides valuable insights to further investigate the malate equilibrium in cotton fiber development.

Rational synthesis of carbon shell coated polyaniline/ MoS2 monolayer composites for high-performance supercapacitors

Conducting polymers generally show high specific capacitance but suffer from poor rate capability and rapid capacitance decary which greatly limits their practical applications in supercapacitor electrodes. To this end, many studies have focused on improving the overall capacitive performance by synthesizing nanostructured conducting polymers or by depositing a range of coatings to increase the active surface area exposed to the electrolyte and enhance the charge transport efficiency and structural stability. Despite this, simultaneously achieving high specific capacitance, good rate performance, and long cycle life remains a considerable challenge. Among the various two-dimensional （2D） layered materials, octahedral （1T） phase molybdenum disulfide （MoS2） nano- sheets have high electrical conductivity, large specific surface areas, and unique surface chemical characteristics, making them an interesting substrate for the controlled growth of nanostructured conducting polymers. This paper reports the rational synthesis of carbon shell-coated polyaniline （PANI） grown on 1T MoS2 monolayers （MoS2/PANI@C）. The composite electrode comprised of MoS2/ PANI@C with a -3 nm carbon shell exhibited a remarkable specific capacitance of up to 678 F-g-1 （1 mV.s-1）, superior capacity retention of 80% after 10,000 cycles and good rate performance （81% at 10 mV.s-1） due to the multiple synergic effects between the PANI nanostructure and 1T MoS2 substrates as well as protection by the uniform thin carbon shell. These properties are comparable to the best overall capacitive performance achieved for conducting polymers-based supercapacitor electrodes reported thus far.

Design optimization of composite egg-shaped submersible pressure hull for minimum buoyancy factor

This paper describes a design optimization study of the composite egg-shaped submersible pressure hull employing optimization and finite element analysis(FEA)tools as a first attempt to provide an optimized design of the composite egg-shaped pressure hull for manufacturing or further investigations.A total of 15 optimal designs for the composite egg-shaped pressure hull under hydrostatic pressure are obtained in terms of fibers’angles and the number of layers for 5 lay-up arrangements and 3 unidirectional(UD)composite *** optimization process is performed utilizing a genetic algorithm and FEA in *** minimization of the buoyancy factor eB:FT is selected as the objective for the optimization under constraints on both material failure and buckling *** buckling analysis is conducted for one optimal design considering both geometric nonlinearity and imperfections.A sensitivity study is also conducted to further investigate the influence of the design variables on the optimal design of the egg-shaped pressure hull.

Removal of heavy metals through adsorption using sand

The removal of four heavy metals i.e. Pb, Cr, Cu, and Zn from their aqueous solutions, using ordinary sand as an adsorbent, was studied at 20℃. The amount of metal adsorbed to form monolayer on sand(a_m), obtained from Langmuir isotherm, exhibited the preference of metals for sand in the order Pb>Cr>Cu>Zn. The heavy metal-sand adsorption phenomena can be illustrated on the basis of the interaction between surface functional group of silicates (sand) and the metal ions. It is deduced that sand can be used as a low cost adsorbent for the removal of heavy metal from wastewater (containing low conc. of metals), especially in the developing countries.
