KAP Survey of Turkish University Students on Sexuality,reproductive Health,Drug Addiction and Violence

Objective To investigate the attitudes, behaviours and reflections of the university students, on sexuality, reproductive health, violence, smoking, alcohol and drug use, and to find out their expectations from a youth health service. Methods A total of 5 300 students （1 880 girls, 3 420 boys）from various Jaculties of Kyrykkale University were enrolled into this cross-sectional study. Students completed the self-administered questionnaire as one of the researchers was present at the classroom. Research monitors five categories of priority health-risk behaviours among youth and young adults. Results Mean age of 3 420 male （64.5%） and 1 880female （35.5%） students were 20.3 years. Among all 4 380 （82,9%） students [1 350 girls （71.8%）, 3 030 boys （88.5%）] had some kinds of information about sexuality, however this dropped to 2 730 students （51.5%） within the context of adequacy. Friends were the major source （34%） for the first information on sexuality. Using a condom was the mostly heard method of contraception （46.9%） and interestingly 1.1% of the students had no knowledge on any of the protection methods. Among all 25.3% of the students （33.0% boys, 11.4% girls） had some kind of sexual intercourse, and within this group 58.8% experienced his/her first sexual relationship at 18 years of age and over; 53.9% were protected in all intercourses. Using a condom was the main way of protection for boys （63.7%） and pills were for the girls （73.9%）. None of the female students mentioned having an abortion but 8% had friends who had undergone abortion. Tobacco use was 35.1% among the group, and 8. 7% of the male and 3.6% of the female students were using drugs. Although 67. 4% students claimed they never witnessed violence between their parents, 43.2% witnessed violence among their siblings, 67.0% beween friends, 72.6% in the streets and 64.2% in the school. About 30.0% of the students reported having weight problems, and 14.7% admitted visiting a doctor for that problem.

In the last few decades, addressing the global challenge of implementation of strategies for renewable energy and energy efficiency has become ***, since 2009, has made a steadfast commitment to sustainability, with a particular focus on advancing the development of renewable energy resources. A comprehensive strategy has been formulated, centering on utilizing the country's energy potential to drive progress in this vital sector. Morocco is considered a country with abundant thermal water, indicating deep reservoirs with significant hydrothermal potential. Geothermal zones were selected based on the abundance of hot springs where water temperatures were high and geothermal gradients were significant. The abundance and importance of hot springs, combined with recent volcanism and ongoing non-tectonic activity linked to alpine orogeny, strongly suggest that these regions are promising reservoirs for geothermal energy. This great potential also extends to neighboring countries. In northeast and south Morocco, the temperature of thermal water ranges from 26 to 54℃. This study serves as an inclusive review of the geothermal potentialities in Morocco.

Epidemic management in a measles outbreak in 2023,the return of vaccine-preventable diseases:A single center,retrospective observational study

Objective:To investigate the importance of immunization in preventing measles infection and to determine the most useful laboratory tests for confirmation of ***:This study included pediatric cases evaluated with a presumed diagnosis of measles between December 2022 and June 2023,at Marmara University Pendik Training and Research *** effects of vaccination status and underlying disease on the clinical course,treatments,and complications were ***:In total,117 patients were enrolled in the study with a median age of 80 months(IQR:32.5-125.0).Twelve patients with contact history were asymptomatic and had an underlying disorder,and intravenous immunoglobulin was given to them for post-exposure ***-one patients had confirmed measles *** treatment was given to three patients(a newborn,a girl with rhabdomyosarcoma,and a healthy boy)with respiratory ***-eight percent of confirmed measles cases were unvaccinated,and all hospitalized cases were unvaccinated or *** full-vaccinated children had confirmed measles *** PCR from nasopharyngeal swabs was negative in all of them,and their diagnosis was established with anti-measles IgM ***:The measles vaccine is the most effective way to protect from measles and measles-related *** measles can also occur in fully vaccinated patients,the disease is milder than in unvaccinated *** ELISA and RT-PCR tests together may be beneficial in patients with high clinical suspicion for early diagnosis.

Cerebral Glioblastoma in Renal Transplant Recipient: A Case Report

Cancers is a leading cause of mortality among transplant recipients. The most common cancers are skin tumors. Glioblastoma is the most frequent brain tumor in adults aged 45 - 70 years. It accounts for 12% - 15% of all intracranial tumors. It is characterized by its rapid development and poor prognosis. We report the case of a cerebral glioblastoma in a kidney transplant recipient. Clinical case: Mr G.R, 44 years old caucasian patient who underwent kidney transplantation. Immunosuppressive treatment included cyclosporine, mycophenolate mofetil and methylprednisolone. Creatinine levels after transplantation remained stable at 11 mg/L (96.8 μmol/l) with an estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) of 77 ml/min/1.73m2 after a 15 years of follow-up. A grade IV right fronto-callossal cerebral glioblastoma was diagnosed in our patient. EBV PCR was negative. Therefore, he underwent 25 sessions of radiotherapy combined with oral chemotherapy using temozolomide. One month later, the patient died due to cerebral edema with subfalcine herniation. Conclusion: This is a case of cerebral glioblastoma in a kidney transplant recipient, a population considered at risk for tumor development due to immunosuppressive treatment. This emphasizes the need for a lifelong surveillance and, more importantly a better balance between graft function preservation and the risks associated with immunosuppressants.

Kaposi Sarcoma after Kidney Transplant: A Clinical Case Report

Kaposi sarcoma is a neoplasm caused by human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8) that most commonly affects immunosuppressed patients. The skin is the most affected area, but other sites can be involved such as the lung, digestive tract and lymph nodes. The classical presentation involves a violaceous skin lesion that can be small or hidden, leading to a delay in diagnosis. We report a clinical case of a kidney transplant patient, who presented, 14 months after kidney transplant, with unilateral edema of the inferior member and cutaneous rash misdiagnosed and taken initially for erysipelas. The diagnosis of Kaposi’s sarcoma was retained, on a lymph node biopsy of an inguinal adenopathy. The evolution was marked by a local and general improvement after systemic chemotherapy, reducing Tacrolimus and discontinuation of Mycophenolate mofetil. Graft function remained stable during the follow-up.

Irrigated Agriculture Facing the Challenge of Climate Change: Adaptation Strategies for Farmers in the Irrigated Perimeters of Môle Saint-Nicolas, Haiti

Môle Saint-Nicolas, like all other communes in the Republic of Haiti, faces increasing climate variability, impacting agricultural production and water resources. Consequently, there is a pressing need for adaptation to these climatic changes. This research aims to showcase the adaptation strategies deployed by farmers to cope with the increasing climate variability. Surveys were conducted through group and individual discussions with a randomly selected cohort of 150 farmers. Two types of analysis were performed: quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative data analysis was conducted using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software. The findings reveal that farmers have perceived changes in rainfall patterns, temperature, wind, and their environment. These changes manifest as irregular rainfall, higher temperatures, prolonged drought periods, violent winds accompanied by rain, premature cessation of rains, and reduced flow from water sources. In response, the most common adaptation strategies adopted include selecting new cultivars, early-maturing varieties, crop rotation and diversification, canal dredging, new soil preparation methods, upstream water source protection, and micro-watershed management. The significance of this research lies in its contribution to enhancing farmers’ adaptive capacities by alerting stakeholders in the irrigated perimeters about the consequences of climate change, thereby incorporating the real needs of farmers in future projects.

Echerichia coli Infection—Associated Glomerulonephritis in a Kidney Transplant Patient: A Case Report

Post infectious Glomerulonephritis (PIGN) in renal allograft is a rare entity. Only a few Cases have been described in the literature. The post streptococcal glomerulonephritis is the classic example in native kidney. A wide variety of organism has been associated with PIGN in renal allograft such as Staphylococcus, Cytomegalovirus and Polyomavirus. We describe one case of Infection associated glomerulonephritis due to Echericha Coli, developed 5 years after kidney transplantation, in 47 years old female patient. The Clinical presentation was characterized by a peripheral edema and high blood pressure, and biological tests showed a nephrotic syndrome, an acute kidney injury, a consumption of Complement fractions. The renal biopsy revealed a diffuse endocapillary cell proliferation with preponderant deposits of C3. Total recovery was achieved 4 months after Methyprednisolone pulse and Cyclophasphamid with antimicrobial treatment.

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Osteonecrosis of the Jaw in Patients with Bisphosphonate Exposure in Casablanca, Morocco: An Observational Study

Objective: To study the prevalence of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) and to determine the risk factors associated with the occurrence of this pathology. Method: An observational retrospective study was conducted in the Department of Oncology, Rheumatology, and Maxillofacial Surgery of Ibn Rochd University Hospital, Casablanca. The study utilized complete medical records from 2014 to 2022 and included consultations of patients receiving bisphosphonates (BPs) in July and September 2022. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 16.0. Results: Our study population comprised 104 patients, of whom 91% were women and 49% were over 65 years old. Seventy-two percent of patients had a general pathology. Among them, 64 patients were treated with zoledronate, 43 with alendronate, and the remainder with risedronate, ibandronate, and pamidronate. The most common indications for treatment were bone metastasis following breast cancer (29.8%) and osteoporotic fractures (19.2%). Sixty-seven patients received intravenous (IV) treatment;only 10.5% exhibited good oral health. Fifty percent of patients underwent dental treatment, primarily tooth extractions. Osteonecrosis of the jaw (ONJ) was diagnosed in 1.9% of patients, predominantly in stages 1 and 2. Conclusion: Second and third-generation bisphosphonates are more strongly associated with the development of ONJ. Risk factors include monthly IV administration, poor oral health, comorbidities such as diabetes, medications like corticosteroids, invasive dental procedures, and not only oncological conditions but also rare indications such as bone algodystrophy. Nevertheless, our observed prevalence of 1.9% aligns with international rates ranging from 0.8% to 12%. However, most of the studies that have been carried out have been retrospective studies with insufficient numbers of patients.
