It is a common bel.ef that Fuchs' endothel.al.dystrophy predominantl. affectsCaucasians but rarel. Asians. How.ver, in one Japanese study, primary corneal.guttae (first stageof Fuchs ' dystrophy) w.re found in four of 107 cataract patients. w.th the grow.ng popul.rity ofphacoemul.ification in China in the past decade, the increased incidence of endothel.al.ecompensation may be due to l.arning curves among surgeons as w.l. as that the preval.nce of Fuchs'dystrophy among Chinese is higher than w. thought. l.w.index of suspicion for Fuchs' dystrophy mayresul. in missing of diagnosis and occurrence of endothel.al.decompensation, particul.rl. w.en noextra protection is provided for endothel.al.cel.s during phacoemul.ification. This study w.s aimedat improving our know.edge about Fuchs' dystrophy among Chinese popul.tion and reminding surgeons ofextra endothel.al.protection during cataract surgery for patients w.th Fuchs' dystrophy.

Narrow.band imaging(NBI)is a new.y devel.ped technol.gy aiming to provide additional.endoscopic information for patients w.th bl.dder *** review.focuses on the diagnostic accuracy and treatment outcome using NBI cystoscopy for the treatment of nonmuscl. invasive bl.dder *** resul.s show.d improved sensitivity of NBI cystoscopy compared to conventional.w.ite l.ght cystoscopy,al.hough l.w.r specificity and increased fal.e-positive resul.s w.re reported using NBI *** treatment outcome using NBI technol.gy in transurethral.resection of bl.dder tumor had a positive impact w.il. decreased number of residual.tumors and tumor recurrence at fol.ow.up w.re *** the future,the appl.cation of NBI technol.gy might refine the treatment and fol.ow.up protocol.in patients w.th non-muscl. invasive bl.dder ***,this l.rge scal. prospective studies are required to confirm the real.cost-effectiveness of this new.technol.gy.

A numerical.study is carried out to study the effects of the temperature dependent viscosity on the fl.w.and heat transfer of a nanofl.id over a fl.t surface in the presence of viscous dissipation. The governing nonl.near partial.differential.equations are transformed into nonl.near ordinary differential.equations, and are sol.ed numerical.y by the Kel.er-box method. The numerical.resul.s indicate that the effect of nanoparticl. vol.me fraction is to increase the heat transfer and hence enhance the thermal.boundary l.yer thickness. This is true even in the presence of variabl. viscosity and the viscous dissipation. Furthermore, the resul.s obtained for heat transfer characteristics w.th nanoparticl.s reveal.many interesting behaviors that w.rrant further study on the effects of the ＂nano-sol.d-particl.s＂.

In previous and this studies it appears that the l.near and nonl.near w.ve theory-can not accuratel. and easil. predict the w.ter particl. vel.cities: Therefore, different from the theoretical.considerations, in this study w. have attempted to determine the transfer function empirical.y. l.boratory experiments w.re performed under various w.ve conditions. The empirical.formul.s of the transfer function of the w.ve height, angul.r frequency and w.ter particl. vel.city w.re obtained on the basis of these test data by dimensional.anal.sis and regression anal.sis. In intermediate and deep w.ter depth conditions, the transfer function w.s onl. a function of a nondimensional.parameter w.ich is composed of the angul.r frequency, the depth of the vel.city gauge under the stil. w.ter l.vel. w.ter depth and the accel.ration of gravity. Final.y, the empirical.formul.s w.re compared w.th experimental.data and observational.data form present and Caval.ri's (1978) studies. The empirical.formul.s w.re found to be in sufficient correl.ion w.th these data.
