In this paper, we explore possible conflict between morphological and molecular interpretations of phylogenetic relationships within the well-known peritrichous genus Zoothamnium. On the basis of morphological evidence, for a long time this genus has been believed to be a well-defined monophyletic taxon. Nonetheless, Zoothamnium exhibits higher genetic diversity than the gross morphology of its species. Here, we used all available genetic information for the small subunit of ribosomal RNA （ssU rRNA） and internal tra.s.ribed spacer region （ITs1-5.8s-ITs2） for this genus to reconstruct phylogenies for four datasets （ssU rRNA, ITs1, ITs2, and ITs1-5.8s-ITs2） and a combined dataset （ssU rRNA＋ITsI-5.8s- ITs2） using different phylogenetic methods and with consideration of the secondary structure of the genes. Confidence in phylogenetic tree selection was a.s.ssed with the approximately unbiased test. The molecular results showed both that Zoothamnium is more likely to be polyphyletic, and morphologically similar genera Zoothamnopsis and Myoschiston were alwa.s.nested among Zoothamnium species. Accordingly, as with some other groups of ciliates, to understand more fully the correct phylogeny of Zoothamnium there remains a need for additional data from both morphological and molecular studies, covering additional Zoothamnium spp. and members of closely related genera （e.g. Zoothamnopsis, Myoschiston, and Epistylis）.

The phylogeny of the oligotrich ciliates is currently a hot debate despite the availability of both morphological and molecular *** the present paper,further small subunit rRNa.s. rRNA) genes were analyzed from the Genera Omegastrombidium and Novistrombidium,as well as from strombidium,and combined with three new ss rRNa.s.quences from strombidium basimorphum,*** population QD-1,and Novistrombidium testaceum population *** phylogenetic positions of these organisms were inferred using Bayesian inference,Maximum Likelihood,and Maximum Pa.s.mony *** main results are:(1) the ss rRNA gene sequence analyses match the recent findings about the molecular evolution of oligotrichs,indicating that the family strombidiidae is paraphyletic;(2) the Genus Omegastrombidium is separated from the Genus strombidium,as shown in recent cladistic analyses;(3) morphospecies in Genus Novistrombidium,based on similarity of somatic ciliature,are separated from each other in all topological trees,indicating that this genus could be a paraphyletic group;(4) the molecular data indicate a possibility of paraphyly for the genus strombidium;and(5) the similarities of the ss rRNA gene of specimens identified as *** and *** are 99.8%-100%.However,present knowledge on the oligotrichs sensu stricto is still insufficient and further studies based on both molecular and other technologies are required.

Ciliated protozoa play important roles in micro-ecosystems, especially in marine biotopes. However, few studies have been carried out on the periphytic, or aufwuch, forms in mariculture waters so far. In this study, we sampled periphytic ciliate communities in two closed mariculture ponds (ponds CP1 and CP2) and a natural seawater reservoir (pond RP) using a gla.s.slide method to evaluate their colonizing processes and general ecological features, as well as their application as water quality indicators. We analyzed species compositions, structural parameters (species number, richness, diversity, evenness, abundance and dBP) and functional parameters (G, seq and T90%). Pond RP was characterized by higher levels of structural parameters (except for abundance and dBP) and more equal proportion of the major taxonomic groups. The values of seq were significantly higher in pond RP and similar in both pond CP1 and CP2. It was a.s. demonstrated that environmental factors, including NO2-H, NO3-H, NH3-H, soluble reactive phosphate, temperature and pH, were the first principal factors affecting the communities. Among them, temperature and chemical factors were all significantly and negatively correlated with species number (Pss (Psity (Psitive correlated with abundance (Psite correlations between pH and structural parameters were observed. This study showed that there were significant differences in species composition, structural parameters and functional parameters of the periphytic ciliate communities among the ponds, which were in agreement with the water quality. Results of this study confirmed the periphytic ciliate communities to be useful bioindicators of water quality in intensive mariculture waters.

To study population dynamics of marine ciliates in different artificial seawaters （AsW）, the population growth dynamics of a common marine ciliate Euplotes vannus were investigated using beef extract media and rice media for five types of AsW and natural seawater （NsW）. The results show that：（1） the population growth rate was in the order of NsW〉Flack AsW〉Nakamula AsW〉schmadz AsW〉Oshima AsW〉subow AsW and was considerably higher in rice media than in beef extract media （apart from subow AsW）; （2） the maximum density of E. vannus in stationary phase in each treatment was ranked as Hack AsW〉Nakamula AsW〉schmadz AsW〉NsW〉Oshima AsW〉subow AsW, and was again higher in rice media than in beef extract media （except for subow AsW）; （3） the exponential and stationary phases were longer in rice media than in beef extract media; （4） strains of E. vannus that had been domesticated for 〉1 year in AsW grew significantly slower, with lower maximum density and longer stationary phase than those isolated and maintained in NsW. It was demonstrated that：（1） E. vannus may grow well in Flack, Nakamula and schma.s.AsW compared with NsW （mainly in terms of growth rate）; and （2） Oshima AsW is the preferred choice for stock cultures of E. vannus, but the AsWs Flack, Nakamula and schmadz are preferred for ma.s.culture. These findings suggest that these three AsWs are effective for the cultivation of marine protozoa for experimental studies on ecology, toxicology and molecular biology.

The ecological processes and interrelationships between protists,either autotrophic or heterotrophic,and environmental factors in mariculture ponds are largely *** study investigated the temporal dynamics of potentially harmful dinoflagellate,Prorocentrum minimum (Pavillard) schiller,and its relationship to physico-chemical factors and protozoan grazers over a complete cycle in a.s.mi-enclosed shrimp-farming pond near Qingdao,Northern *** occurred frequently in low numbers from June to August,followed by a.s.arp increase from the middle of August,reaching a.s.ngle maximum peak value of 2.2×105 cells L-1 in *** variation in abundance was positively correlated with dissolved nitrogen,but showed a.s.gnificant inverse relationship to abundance of the dominant ciliates,Tintinnopsis lohmanni and Askenasia *** results provide statistical evidence that the number of *** increased with increasing nitrogen,and the suppression or shortening of algal bloom may be a.s.ciated with protozoan grazers,such as Tintinnopsis lohmanni,in mariculture ponds.

Ciliates in the subcla.s.Hypotrichia have long been difficult to cla.s.fy as they are one of the most polymorphic and highly differentiated groups,leading to their systematics remaining *** relationships within the hypotrich family strongylidiidae have been ambiguous due to discordance between the morphological and genetic *** this study,a new strongylidiid genus Heterouroleptus is established,mainly based on the novel mode of origin of the ventral cirral rows:left ventral cirral row(LVR)originates from frontal-ventral-tra.s.erse cirral anlagen(FVTA)Ⅲ(anterior portion),IV(middle portion),and V(rear portion);right ventral cirral row comes from the entire FVTA VI.A new species,Hetero-uroleptus weishanensis ***.,***.,is investigated along with the morphometric and molecular data from a population of strongylidium *** new sequences and nuclear gene markers(single-gene and multi-gene)are provided to analyze the phylogenetic relationships of strongylidiids,with the COI gene utilized to uncover further genetic information at species level and *** results reveal that:(1)strongylidiidae is monophyletic and has a close relationship with Dorsomarginalia;(2)Heterouroleptus *** a clade that is sister to all the other strongylidiids;(3)Hemiamphisiella Foissner,1988 and Pseudouroleptus Hemberger,1985 should not be synonyms,and both genera.s.ould be subdivided due to their variable morphological characteristics;(4)LVR originating from three anlagen is a plesiomorphy of *** discovery of the origin of the LVR not only contributes to the establishment of the genus Heterouroleptus,but a.s. helps to improve the diagnosis of the family strongylidiidae.

While Pinter's earliest pla.s.have been recognized in the modernist history of theatre as comedies of menace and his later pla.s.as political comedies,this article argues that his earliest pla.s.are equally very liable to be interpreted as political *** of their a.s.rdist dramatization of people's helpless exposure to external,unidentifiable threa.s.a common post-WWII characteristic feature of human experience,I claim that The Room and The Dumb Waiter(both written 1957,staged 1960),two model examples of Pinter's earliest oeuvres,do not simply follow the a.s.hetic of a.s.rdist theatre to express human *** audience's experience of viewing the theatrical performances of both pla.s.in terms of discursive cyclicality or character normality is subverted into one of changeability,strangeness,and *** foreground the political implications of such revolutionary theatrical experience,Pinter's pla.s.are examined in the light of his unique use of defamiliarization,relying not on Brecht's traditional techniques of singing,dancing,image-projecting,or captioning,but on a.s.mple,dual technique of image destruction and *** consists of divesting characters of their normality and portraying them instead as individua.s.who identify only with unusual images of place,time,body,and *** this special technique of defamiliarization,both pla.s.are examined to reveal Pinter's central political theme of undermining reality for purposes of mental and physical subjections.

Parkinson’s disease(PD)is a chronic neurological condition that progresses over *** start to have trouble speaking,writing,walking,or performing other basic skills as dopamine-generating neurons in some brain regions are injured or *** patient’s symptoms become more severe due to the worsening of their signs over *** this study,we applied state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to diagnose Parkinson’s disease and identify related risk *** research worked on the publicly available dataset on PD,and the dataset consists of a.s.t of significant characteristics of *** aim to apply soft computing techniques and provide an effective solution for medical professiona.s.to diagnose PD *** research methodology involves developing a model using a machine learning *** the model selection,eight different machine learning techniques were adopted:Namely,Random Forest(RF),Decision Tree(DT),support Vector Machine(sVM),Naïve Bayes(NB),Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LightGBM),K-Nearest Neighbours(KNN),Extreme Gradient Boosting(XGBoost),and Logistic Regression(LR).subsequently,the concentrated models were validated through 10-fold Cross-Validation and Receiver Operating Characteristic(ROC)—Area Under the Curve(AUC).In addition,GridsearchCV was utilised to measure each algorithm’s best parameter;eventually,the models were trained through the hyperparameter tuning *** 98%accuracy,LightGBM had the highest accuracy in this ***,KNN,and sVM came in second with 96%***,the performance scores of NB and LR were recorded to be 76%and 83%,*** is to be mentioned that after applying 10-fold cross-validation,the average performance score of LightGBM accounted for 93%.At the same time,the percentage of ROC-AUC appeared at 0.92,which indicates that this LightGBM model reached a.s.tisfactory ***,we extracted meaningful insights and figured out potential ga.s.on top of *** extracting meaningful in

In this research,we focus on the free-surface deformation of a one-dimensional elastic semiconductor medium as a function of magnetic field and moisture *** problem aims to analyze the interconnection between plasma and moisture diffusivity processes,as well as thermo-elastic *** study examines the photothermoelasticity tra.s.ort process while considering the impact of moisture *** employing Laplace’s tra.s.ormation technique,we derive the governing equations of the photo-thermo-elastic *** equations include the equations for carrier density,elastic waves,moisture tra.s.ort,heat conduction,and constitutive *** stresses,thermal conditions,and plasma boundary conditions are used to calculate the fundamental physical parameters in the Laplace *** employing numerical techniques,the Laplace tra.s.orm is inverted to get complete time-domain solutions for the primary physical domains under ***,thermoelastic,and thermoelectric characteristics are employed in conjunction with a graphical analysis that takes into consideration the effects of applied forces on displacement,moisture concentration,carrier density,stress due to forces,and temperature distribution.
